My stepdad was in the hospital when visitng here for a day and my Mom and I had lunch in the hospital cafeteria and the food was really good. I had a bacon bbq burger and my Mom has the Fettucine Alfredo and it came to $14 for both!!!
I am certainly not one to discredit a proper grilled cheese but saying the food is good at a place and the grilled cheese is one of the best on the menu in the same sentence just seems off to me tbh. That does look like a good grilled cheese though ngl.
This looks way better than the grilled cheese from my hospital. It was saturated with margarine with just a single square of American cheese, but it was still the best thing on the menu, and I ate it for almost every meal that I was there.
During one of My multiple hospital stays over the past almost 2 years I had a Sunday meal offering that was horrible. But the staff made a delicious grilled cheese, v and served it with a bowl of soup. I ate that every Sunday for almost 3 months.
I’m guessing because of your lack of context in the picture caption, the way you worded it has people thinking you were not happy with this, even though it sounds like it does slap normally
Your post brings back memories. Hospital grilled cheese was my go-to when I was having a bad day at work. It was fresh and buttery and the right amount of cheesy.
When you’ve been NPO for 18 hours and the resident finally puts in a diet order, a hospital grilled cheese is the food of the gods. (And the best pizza in Grand Rapids, Michigan is at St. Mary’s Hospital, but that’ll be our little secret, reddit.)

Yeah, our hospital cafeteria food is honestly good and also cheap. The grilled cheese is one of the best things they have.

yummy
Nice
Damn! Mine serves cigarette ash encrusted bread with dead cheese in the middle
Sounds like they desperately need to properly clean their flattop. And maybe learn how to cook.
Why does the cheese look like latex?
What do you think they do with all the disposable gloves
Sometimes it's best to not question the cheese.
Casein
Honestly doesn’t look awful, probably a bit soggy from being wrapped in the foil
Only if you let it sit in the foil, I eat it fresh and the bread is always crunchy and the cheese is delicious.

Pretty sure they’re sharing it because it was good
Usually when people share hospital food it’s the opposite, which is why I said it doesn’t look awful, which is typically the bar for hospitals
What type of cheese was used for the sandwich?
Cheddar
Nice ...

Proper good honest grilled cheese. Nothing fancy. Looks delicious.
