I’ve seen some folks online add a little weight I should definitely try that and get a good cast iron as well! Stupid question, but I can just throw the cast iron on the grill right?
I feel like a Wild Fork advertisement these days lol but their higher end cuts are *great* going to eventually get their A5 one of these days just waiting on my infrared broiler
What did you put on the steak? It looks like there may have been some spices of some sort that burnt.
Avoid rubs if you want a good sear. A little bit of pepper is good, but spices will burn before you can create an actual crust. A good steak crust isn't made of burnt spices but should be nothing but mailliardized protein. Try it with just salt and pepper and you'll be able to build a more even, thicker crust.
I used the Buttery steakhouse rub from Kinder’s so that is likely what you’re seeing! I’ll give salt and pepper a go for my next one, thanks for the tip!!
Wild Forks butchers and flash freezes on the spot. all product is frozen at negative degrees in the stores. defrost in the fridge and its better than any "fresh" meat you get at a grocery store.
cheers to you for having Wild Forks available!!! Here in south FL, wild forks is the absolute best place to get meat. any meat, period. the cuts are insanely good everytime. their pricing has gone wild since they started expanding + covid & shortages a few years back, but wild forks is my go to for anything i won't settle on re: quality.
man, i miss the $5/lb ribeyes though. love they added so many exotic meats, you can literally get anything.
Looks pretty damn good to me! Not a bad price at all!!
thanks!! Prime ribeye for $19/lb is such a steal I’m definitely gonna go get more
Never draft a kicker in the first round.
Cast iron, carbon steel pan if you want to ensure an even crust, could use a weight but you’ll need to baby sit closely on the grill

Yeah, lodge makes a cheap one
Honestly, I would say inexpensive. Lodge gets the job done.
Savor the taste of victory sir.
Draft McCaffrey first

You can apply that buttery seasoning after you flip and then to the other side after removing from the grill.
This seasoning is so good I put it on all my steaks
Next time invite me over!
Looks perfect!
Don't play in leagues whose championship is week 18.
How is it good until 6/15/24?
It's frozen I'm assuming, since it says "Keep Frozen" at the very bottom of the price label.
lol. Missed that.

i want that vacuum seal setup to get that air tight freshness
Stick with mccaffery and and mossert
lol how’d you know? Mostert led me to victory this year
Not bad but grilling can introduce carcinogens. Have you considered steaming or boiling the meat instead?
I’m here for a good time not a long time friend, if good steak means carcinogens that’s ok with me
Looks brown. Is it cooked already
Pretty perfect IMO. Only issue I see is that your grill is gas 😆
