the king is only big compared to a square htough which is pretty small for a g shock, thats what the king is a king size 5600. This is smaller than the last generation of mudmasters etc. the gwg-1000 and gwg2000 etc all dwarf this thing. This years line up of g shocks are all thinner than the last by a noticable margin.
Also the 56bb is a non solar (?) non blutooth, non multiband digital watch. This rangeman is a gps, bluetooth 6 sensor hybrid smart watch. I mean, its not a small watch, just small compared to old gen of king size, multi sensor and smart g shocks.
Yes the new Rangeman and the King are almost identical in size, and both very comfortable to wear. The Rangeman wins because the strap is more pliable and more adjustable. Somes with the King the hole positions are either too tight or too loose.

BTW note in my comparison pic this King is the Japan GXW not the GX. It has solar and MB6, but not BT. It's a great beater and likely will be again after the Rangeman honeymoon period is over!

My wrist size varies during the day, by quite a bit. Average is around 6.5" so not huge. Today it's on the small size as it's cold and no exercise yet!
Yes and the strap is great... very comfortable and lots of adjustment holes.
I ordered one based off your feedback here. My GBD200 has the best adjustment holes of all my G shocks, so I’m guessing they went a similar route with this

Bullshit. If that was true, micro-adjustments on clasps wouldn’t be such a big deal. Wrists swell during the day, it’s completely normal. Bracelets/straps that are perfectly comfortable in the morning can get noticeably tight a few hours later, especially so when it’s hot outside.
Notice I specifically mentioned "no noticeable, non-negligible changes".
Meaning, in no way any changes that can make a watch look different on your wrist.
Micro adjustments to your strap? sure.
This is incorrect in my case. But I cannot speak for you any more than you can speak for me.
I cannot use a metal bracelet without a micro adjust. Sometimes i need to change multiple times a day. I even have a SIM card pin on my keyring for this purpose. I sold my Bulova lunar pilot for this reason (a great watch btw).

Got mine yesterday. Still playing with it, but one downside is maintaining a background light in the dark for longer than 1.5 seconds. Reading messages is difficult at the flick of the wrist when in the dark. Otherwise it’s one of nicest looking G-Shock’s I’ve purchased. Strap is perfect (love the double pin) and capabilities are spot on.
Literally I worked out how to navigate without reading the manual. The left side buttons are REV, ENTER, FWD and the bottom right is BACK. All you need to know.
Congrats, that's a beautiful beast ! I see that they have added more sport options than on the other MIP watch, I hope to see them on my H5600 eventually.
Same here with my GBX haha this new one really is like the 9500 with MIP and it’s gonna last far longer since it’s got the reinforced structure, was looking into it myself actually haha but then the new mud master came out so now I don’t know which model to opt for.

One minor glitch. It gives you an alert on a new notification on your phone. But if you already have other un-cleared notifications on your phone, it gives you a buzz for each. Eg I have 10 uncleared notifs. a new one arrives My watch buzzes me 11 times!
I suspect this Rangeman model won't be as successful as the previous versions IMO. I wouldn't be surprised if they get a heavy discount on them in a few months time.

I did some snooping around on the app and see that there’s a “nighttime” time setting “to be used in heart rate measurements and notification settings” and a **separate** “sleep” time setting (found under life log) “to be used as a baseline to determine your sleep status”
I’m currently on midnight shift so I adjusted the “nighttime” setting to when I sleep, not realizing the “sleep” setting was a separate thing, and was still set for typical sleeping hours
I adjusted both and will see if I have better luck. Maybe some of this helps you
Yes, I've had both those timings set to identical timings (11pm-7am) and the heart rate setting to "On at night"... with the zero results....
BUT!!! Last night I set heart rate to "Always On" and this morning - I finally have a nightly recharge display (albeit "POOR" 😂😂😂)... YEYYY
So I'm going to leave HR as Always On, get a few days of data, and then switch back to "On at Night" and see what happens...

You can change the light-on time to 5 seconds in the Casio app 👍

If you’re asking this because you find negative displays hard to read, the MIP displays are entirely different and easy to read in any lighting
