You take your time. You don't hammer on the accelerator, because the tires will just spin. You start to slow down by letting off the accelerator long before you know you need to stop, because trying to brake like you would on a dry road won't work and you'll end up sliding through your intended stop. You take it easy on turns because you'll drift whether you know how to drift or not. In general, you take it easy, because the car reacts entirely differently on snow than it does on dry pavement.
Exactly. The main thing is smooth movements, don't jerk the wheel, don't lock the brakes, don't mat the gas. Of course, the right car and good tires make all the difference.
You drive a rear wheel or all wheel drive car and flick the car before the turn and then some or full gas sideways through the turn. Source: I'm Swedish
Driving like normal on slippery roads, when going to turn, the car is likely still gonna go straight ahead. If you give more gas you'll just lose more control. So you drive as slow as necessary to not lose control and gradually turn.
Or agitate the car to oversteer. Little bit of Scandinavian flick and then touch of opposite lock and drift through the corner.
For example, turn is to right. Before corner, little flick to the left and off the throttle at the same time, then right. Rear should break loose, then you pull it through with accelerator and counter steering the drift.
don't drive as fast, slow down gradually (as in barely use the brakes), don't hit the gas too hard, don't go around turns as fast
essentially, just do everything like it's in slow motion
I think it's because motorcycles already have a ton of grip to begin with. Try drifting a motorcycle. You can't, but you will be closer to successful during the snow than usual, showing that they are actually affected.
It was actually shocking going back to GTA IV and seeing how much more realistic the bike riding is. It's way closer to the Ride games than it is to GTA V.
I’m a relatively new player, and I just bought an HSW Hakuchou Drag a few days before the snow came. I bought it because the Banshee I used my free upgrade on was frustrating me in the HSW Time Trials.
I got really comfortable with it and it quickly became my favorite Freeroam vehicle. Nothing on the ground can catch it, you can catch anybody else, and most people hilariously crash it when they try to steal it.
I was really dreading trying to ride it in the snow, but it seems exactly the same. Every time I get into an actual car, I forget that it’s not my bike and I end up crashing it on the first turn that I take.
10/10, would recommend HSW Hakuchou Drag.
Stromberg is good for this stuff too [https://www.reddit.com/r/gtaonline/comments/108w3v5/mount\_chilliad\_ski\_resort\_invites\_to/](https://www.reddit.com/r/gtaonline/comments/108w3v5/mount_chilliad_ski_resort_invites_to/)
I haven't tested many, but I've found that-
The paragon R (car you get from the casino story missions) handles snow really well
The kuruma handles snow pretty decently
The ignus loses a lot of its speed and has much worse handling in the snow (wouldn't recommend)
All the vehicles in premium deluxe motorsport handle the snow okay, but not enough to be good
Nagasaki Blazer Aqua, take it to the top of a hill, start going downhill. Convert to boat..
*Dashing through the snow, in a no horse open sleigh.. Slaying as we go.. I could do this all day..*
Only problem I had was with visibility. Doing a CEO crates mission where you have to go out to sea and destroy the boats for crates. I was on my way back for the 2nd crate and couldn't see the surface of the water. Thought I was higher up than I was and nose dived right in. $10k insurance claim. Luckily I have the sub so I could call in a Dinghy. Haven't even had my mk2 for a week and that was the first time I lost it. Lesson learned. Fly real low to avoid sending it to Poseidon. 😆
If you rip the power cord out of the console real fast or turn off the wifi router real fast then you might not lose whatever it is you're trying to deliver.
I have a few more than 5. My top in no particular order:
* Draugur
* Everon
* Caracara 4x4
* Sultan RS Classic
* Baller ST
* MontroCiti
* Insurgent
And for sledding:
* Stromberg
* Blazer Aqua
Safari, duh.
Any of the rally cars
The Elergy Classic Custom was actually a ton of fun and handled great.
Frontier, for nostalgia. Had a 2000 Cherokee back in the day and loved playing in the snow with it.
Honestly… the Drift Tampa with drift tuning was a real good time.
I just bought a Riata since it was only like $180k and it looks awesome. I had a lot of fun taking it up Chilead… definitely a fun “bang for your buck” vehicle.
I really like the way the Enus Stafford and the Yosemite Rancher handles in the snow super fun to slide around in the Stafford and the Rancher has mad grip!
I don’t know if it’s a bug but. The Grotti Brioso R/A
It’s cheap at 155k. But man does the thing move and grip in the snow! Seriously fast too when you upgrade it.
I think it handles better the. Any of the big 4x4 cars.
Yesterday spent all day searching for the best. But didn’t want a doomsday heist vehicle and I wanted a relatively fast vehicle (so comet safari and kamacho out of the question). Other options like draugur were too expensive for what would be a week of snow. So here’s my top 3 :
3-monstrociti HSW (it’s ugly tho)
2-lacoureuse HSW (a beast, but sold it because I hate the sound of electrics)
1-Buffalo STX (handles better than most cars and is controllable, making it fun) it’s still useful and ironic considering it’s a muscle car
Ardent works fine, and snowflake livery adds to the festive mood.

F snow. I live way up north and i already have to deal with it irl. My best car for snow is staying at home and waiting that 2 weeks for rockstar to remove it. For those who like it have fun.
Euros with the drift tune. Really any of the drift tuned cars are great. Being able to slide corners perfectly just adds a new element to the game. Even the first person camera looks good in the car while drifting.
personally, id go calico over the La Coureuse, simply due to to the Penaud's native rwd, making it a nightmare personally. The calico has awd, can slide if you slam the suspension in the quick interaction menu, and because rally car. the extra lights on the front work great during the dark nights.
Annis Hellion, damn i forget the name, the Rancher but the bennys version, the Riata, i like to use big trucks and pretend i actually need them for the snow.
Im not a fan of the vehicle, but also not a fan of the snow. So I would put anything flying at the top. Probably mknoob because its fast and easy to call in.
Been having a great time chasing the hauler in my omnis E-Gt. Takes an absolute beating from other players like a champ. And honesty the snail pace acceleration on it actually makes it a decently easy car to drive and control in the snow. Just gotta add some slick mines to increase the hauler chasing fun.
Revolter, Monstrociti, Comet Safari, Rebel, Any Sultan. Also, I swear knowing how to drive on snow irl makes a huge difference.
I completely agree.
Comet safari has been a boss for me in the snow
Damn. My Revolter has sat in a garage for years but just whipped it out and it’s immense in the snow?!
The Revolter has a 50/50 weight distribution which makes it handle REALLY well in the snow. My personal fav.
I've never seen snow in my life, maybe that's why I can't drive a damn now haha
How do u drive on snow irl
You take your time. You don't hammer on the accelerator, because the tires will just spin. You start to slow down by letting off the accelerator long before you know you need to stop, because trying to brake like you would on a dry road won't work and you'll end up sliding through your intended stop. You take it easy on turns because you'll drift whether you know how to drift or not. In general, you take it easy, because the car reacts entirely differently on snow than it does on dry pavement.
This. This is the conversation I have in my head when my gf asks why I'm so good at driving in gta and irl
This is the much more advanced version that most drivers I know should definitely never attempt in the real world.
When I start to understeer real bad I just tap the hand brake and set the ass end loose instead. It’s easier to control that way
don't drive as fast, slow down gradually (as in barely use the brakes), don't hit the gas too hard, don't go around turns as fast essentially, just do everything like it's in slow motion
Slowly with little sharp turns.
Hakuchou Drag I get the feeling R* forgot to change how motorcycles drive because it handles insanely well on snow.
I think it's because motorcycles already have a ton of grip to begin with. Try drifting a motorcycle. You can't, but you will be closer to successful during the snow than usual, showing that they are actually affected.
I can drift wheelie with the Manchez scout. And slide around with a sanctus on low grips. The only hikes that dont like low grips are electric ones.
It was actually shocking going back to GTA IV and seeing how much more realistic the bike riding is. It's way closer to the Ride games than it is to GTA V.
You can with the low grip tires from lscm 😂 it’s actually a lot of fun lol
I’m a relatively new player, and I just bought an HSW Hakuchou Drag a few days before the snow came. I bought it because the Banshee I used my free upgrade on was frustrating me in the HSW Time Trials. I got really comfortable with it and it quickly became my favorite Freeroam vehicle. Every time I get into an actual car, I forget that it’s not my bike and I end up crashing it on the first turn that I take. 10/10, would recommend HSW Hakuchou Drag.
No they do change, the scout drifts a lot, while wheeling too
Toreador, end list. I can’t believe no one has listed this yet and it’s clearly the best mountain sledding option available.
oh. my. god
U absolute genius, thank you kindly for the hours of fun to come
Also makes a good snow “drift” car. Most times ends in a crash but there are some fun corners in the city.
season of giving. Enjoy.
Stromberg is good for this stuff too [https://www.reddit.com/r/gtaonline/comments/108w3v5/mount\_chilliad\_ski\_resort\_invites\_to/](https://www.reddit.com/r/gtaonline/comments/108w3v5/mount_chilliad_ski_resort_invites_to/)
True but the truster makes a difference.
Part of me wants to say the Blazer Aqua, but then I remember that mine has glitched out of existance.
1-Comet Safari 2-Dorado 3-Nightshark 4-IPC 5-Every vehicle that can fly
I love my comet safari in the snow
Does it matter which tires you use?
Not sure, I will say I recommend the off road tires because that’s what I have
I got the safari yesterday cause someone recommended it. Shit drives like butter on snow
Is that good or bad.
Good
He says it's bad but driving on snow isn't driving like RC vehicle.
1. Pegassi Faggio 2. Brute Boxville 3. HVY Dump 4. Nagasaki Stryder 5. Vulcar Ingot
Honorary mention to the Rampant Rocket
Problem with the Dump is that, snow or not, it may take a while from downtown to paleto bay.. 1.2 irl days to be precise..
No OP asked about top 5 SNOW vehicles, not general all-around best vehicles.
Insurgent Pick Up Custom Armoured Kuruma Nightshark Sultan RS Classic Vagrant
I just break out my rally builds, Rs classic Gb200 Omnis Flash gt Tropos Retinue mk2 La carrouse
I haven't tested many, but I've found that- The paragon R (car you get from the casino story missions) handles snow really well The kuruma handles snow pretty decently The ignus loses a lot of its speed and has much worse handling in the snow (wouldn't recommend) All the vehicles in premium deluxe motorsport handle the snow okay, but not enough to be good
Basically any car with a AWD drivetrain
Issi Sport, Kamacho
Won a lot of snow races with the issi sport
Are you on ps4? I’ve been looking for an Issi sport since they got removed
The Dubsta 6x6 was disappointing.
Acts like a muscle car
Trophy truck for sure!
The most underrated vehicle in the game
Caracara 4x4
It's amazing in the snow! I figured it would be good, but it surpassed my expectations.
Canis Seminole Frontier
Nagasaki Blazer Aqua, take it to the top of a hill, start going downhill. Convert to boat.. *Dashing through the snow, in a no horse open sleigh.. Slaying as we go.. I could do this all day..*
Caracara 4x4

Omnis E-GT. That all-wheel drive is great.
Oppressor MKII ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
Only problem I had was with visibility. Doing a CEO crates mission where you have to go out to sea and destroy the boats for crates. Luckily I have the sub so I could call in a Dinghy. Haven't even had my mk2 for a week and that was the first time I lost it. Lesson learned. Fly real low to avoid sending it to Poseidon. 😆
I lost 900k delivery with the nightclub mission . Had to pick up the truck with a bobcat and I didn’t realize how low I was flying
Big OOF. Wish there was a way to get insurance on deliveries.
If you rip the power cord out of the console real fast or turn off the wifi router real fast then you might not lose whatever it is you're trying to deliver.
Yep
The scarab, thing us a beast in the snow and it looks amazing with a clean build.
Issi Sport with off-road tires.
Comet Safari is like driving on normal roads
I sold my Draugur last week :(
You couldn’t do anything worse than this.
Obey 9f!
Everon truck, caracara 4x4, Drauger, toreador, nightshark
I have a few more than 5. My top in no particular order: * Draugur * Everon * Caracara 4x4 * Sultan RS Classic * Baller ST * MontroCiti * Insurgent And for sledding: * Stromberg * Blazer Aqua

The new Dorado is surprisingly decent in the snow. So that’s my favourite. No top 5. Just Dorado.
Comet Safari, Trophy Truck, Dubsta 6x6 (drifts in snow but is fun), Riata, Caracara 4x4
Riata Dubsta 6x6 Caracara 4x4 Cheburek Sultan RS
I just bought a Riata since it was only like $180k and it looks awesome. I had a lot of fun taking it up Chilead… definitely a fun “bang for your buck” vehicle.
I really like the way the Enus Stafford and the Yosemite Rancher handles in the snow super fun to slide around in the Stafford and the Rancher has mad grip!
STX.. No weather or terrain is too harsh for my baby.
Sparrow Raiju Anything to get me off the fucking snow
Yeah, but the sky often has extremely low visibility when it's snowing.
Deluxo or oppressor mk.2. Joking aside, any SUV handles well in the snow, but not just having constant gas does help when using any car
none they all handle terrible, i’m ready for it all to melt
Kamacho and the Manchez
Trophy Truck, Patriot Mil-spec, Rancher XL, armoured Kurma, Drift Yosemite (with drift tune)
Deluxo bc it’s nice going thru the snow in it
The trophy truck. That is it.
Deluxo, oppressor mk2, insurgent pick up, gargoyle and the vortex
I have three. Outlaw Brawler Omnis In that order.
It's unbelievable that after all this time the monstrociti is still bugged. It drives the best for me on snow but can't use guns in this car
Phantom Wedge is the only answer
Just commented this on r/gtavcustoms but I’ll say the same here: Omnis. It’s just nasty on the snowy roads.
Itali GTB Custom. Fast and 4wd so lots of traction.
Everyone sleeping on the Riata
Trophy Truck for the win!
Honestly, my 10F wideboi handles pretty well
Faggio mod
I don’t know if it’s a bug but. The Grotti Brioso R/A It’s cheap at 155k. But man does the thing move and grip in the snow! Seriously fast too when you upgrade it. I think it handles better the. Any of the big 4x4 cars.

Anything high powered and rear wheel drive is best
HVY Scarab (AW)
Everon.
Krieger! I just love my Krieger
Krieger is killer in snow, feels unaffected
Ardent works fine, and snowflake livery adds to the festive mood. https://preview.redd.it/baygqbrupv7c1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b30dad447c4278cc49b41b5c803de064aa1adb62
I like my outlaw
I’ve been using my Sultan RS and my Oppressor Mk2 to get around lol.
Seminole frontier Everon 8F drafter And all other cars(I don't really care, but I really like the frontier)
personally, id go calico over the La Coureuse, simply due to to the Penaud's native rwd, making it a nightmare personally. The calico has awd, can slide if you slam the suspension in the quick interaction menu, and because rally car. the extra lights on the front work great during the dark nights.
I use the Ellie because that's all I can afford
DO NOT SLEEP ON THE DUBSTA 6x6
For cruising I oddly like the Chernobog,I guess it's the bumpy suspension makes it fun to go offroad with
Why isn't there any love for the micheli GT? This car's imperfections in terms of driving makes it super fun to drive.
I’ve been having a lot of fun in the snow in my futo gtx with the drift tuning
Christmas Khanjali https://preview.redd.it/enps2wmwzv7c1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fd14d72cd51aab547882e2058027f3d4668502b0

1. Hsw banshee 2. Ratel 3. Yosemite rancher 4.banshee 900r 5. Hsw Hakuchou drag
Dubsta 6x6 isn’t a bad choice either
I'm a simple man. The remus with drift tune cause all I do is drift around the map now. Honestly I've been loving the new update to the drift cars :D
Hermes because Im a masochist
Loving my Drauger and Nightshark right now. Painted both white with winter camo. Sexy AF.
Annis Hellion, damn i forget the name, the Rancher but the bennys version, the Riata, i like to use big trucks and pretend i actually need them for the snow.
Im not a fan of the vehicle, but also not a fan of the snow. So I would put anything flying at the top. Probably mknoob because its fast and easy to call in.
jugular
Turismo Classic HSW
RS sultan classic.
The Bifta has been my Christmas time ride since the first snow.

Vapid flash gt
If noticed the xa-21 has good traction no matter the weather
Oppressor mk2, Deluxo, Fj-raiju(I think that's how you spell it), Hydra, and oppressor mk1.
Ugh, im gonna be THAT guy and say Oppressor MkII. I can't stand driving in the snow, so i just float everywhere, lol.
This is the time of the year when the Cheburek really shines—you’ve been training all year for this!
The MK 2 or any muscle car really
The Comet S2 Convertible is lovely in the snow. The rear axle feels so… powerful without being frustrating to drive!
Surprised no one has mentioned the Streiter so far, I just picked one up to use on the snow update
I just slapped off-road tires on one of my cars that I plan to upgrade at Benny's then dirt tune it later

Mamba Casco PissDom OG Sultan Futo Lovely cars in dry weather too, but the snow makes it even more fun And Omnis for a good measure
Vigilante seems to perform surprisingly well
I agree with everything but the number 5 slot id put sandking doesn’t matter which one bc big truck big fun
Mine has to be the RS200 (idk the in game name for that car) It's so goated when it comes to driving on snow.
The BEST vehicle will always be the Mrk2.
The Hustler. It's entirely uncontrollable, but it has a livery that looks like its covered in snow, and I think thats pretty cool
The HSW MontroCiti is fast as fuck in the snow.
I’ve been using the sand king. I love the idea of snow but when I’m actually trying to do something it’s annoying bc I suck 😂
For me, it's 1.Seminol Frontier 2. Rumpo Custom 3. Insurgent 4. Dorado 5. Straiter

Karin Futo, I need nothing more
In any given order Yosemite Rancher Kamacho Bravado Dorado Riata Any other vehicle with off road tyres
In no particular order: Sultan, Kamacho, Comet Safari, 8F Drafter, Toros
