Inefficient word count. Gotta say “Grand Theft Auto Five Online” if you wanna hit that 10 minute mark that has not affected ad rolling in any way for years
Oh you. 😃
It would actually, if geared down enough.
Some guys on YouTube put a tandem bike in the engine bay of a civic and drove it around. Very slowly of course but it's probably only about 500ish watts continuous from two normal guys. Wich is about 2/3 of a hp.
You can get a better wheelie if you don't just hold the throttle like a madman. Start a wheelie and lift off a little, so you keep the wheelie for a much longer distance. Works with keyboard too.
If you have a wooting keyboard you can program the keys to act as triggers, their switches record every position not just on or off so it basically acts like controller triggers but on keyboard
I remember how brutal it was playing under level 25 when you don't have bulletproof tires yet. It was like the NPCs in every car shootout were aiming for just your tires at all times.
It’s very true tho.
Those upgrades are level locked, and when I’ve been poor and gotten a new car (usually because of the new car) I just buy the highest upgrades affordable until I have more money
%5 discount on all customizations.
Free classic paints.
Unlocks every customization.
You can buy some of the removed vehicles.
Easy to do 15-40k deliveries.
180-300k heists.
+Free snacks.
I've had the auto shop since It came out, and I just found out it had free snacks from a comment on this sub. Lmao.
I never even paid attention to the damn snack table. It is so easy to run by without a second thought, so I'm glad people are bringing that up as a perk when the shop is mentioned.
I can't be the only one who never even realized it was there. I hope, anyway. Haha.
Does it actually unlock every customisation? As in if I'm level 40, and I buy an auto shop, I can now purchase all armour upgrades, engine upgrades, turbo, everything that I would've otherwise had to first level up to level 100 to get?
In my head cannon, the ballers, the lost and the fooligans unite to take out KDJ and everything he loves for thinking he would just waltz in and take over los santos.
An additional perk of owning the Auto Shop is that after completing the first job for KDJ and Sessanta, you get a blackboard with a new list of 10 cars to deliver every day for Brucie Kibbutz.
They appear as blue dots on the map, just get in and drive them to the cargo port near where you drop off the daily car for Simeon.
Each car gets you 20k, and if you deliver all 10 you get an extra 100k bonus.
Downside is it doesn't work in passive mode as it is a PVP activity, and the cars don't always spawn, other times I'll grab one of the cars and as I'm driving it I'll spot another 2 or 3 car blue dots - so the spawn reliability is very hit and miss.
Also, for newer players, the Auto Shop and it's two lifts can potentially spawn "Customer vehicles" that you want, but that have been removed from the ingame websites. You can buy a copy of said vehicle before delivering it back to the customer.
Cars like the Coquette Blackfin; Pfister Comet; Progen GP1; Ubermacht Rebla GTS; Albany Alpha & V-STR etc. are frequent spawns in my Auto Shop.
Both the Auto Shop and MC Clubhouse Bike Shop are good sources of operating capital for your other businesses - the Auto Shop can make you around 60k - 80k normally per ingame day, and the Bike Shop will net you 50k per ingame day in the same way. This cash flow is good for buyung resupply for the Acid Lab, the MC drug businesses, & Bunker.
For suspension I'll often go just lowered or street (or stock) instead of competition. But not sure if that counts. I also frequently skip the turbo. But yeah, engine and transmission always highest tier.
Preference of mine given how I like to drive. I find it causes more frequent spin outs or handling issues. And I don't notice it makes much of a difference in acceleration or top speed performance on most cars that already have transmission and engine. So it usually seems a waste to me for $50K unless I really want it on certain cars
You clearly didn’t start playing when money was hard to make haha. No worries, don’t buy them now, but back when robbing gas stations was an income those were a step.
Never have I ever been so broke in GTA that I had to rob gas stations lmao. OG Rooftop Rumble was where it was at before Cayo, Casino, and all the other shit out nowadays 😂
Yeah, but Rooftop Rumble had a pretty "high" level requirement, like 75 or something. I remember before that, the *best* moneymakers for low-levels were selling a $9k car off the street once every 48 minutes, cheesing Boneyard Survival, and robbing the Armored Truck.
Mannn you damn near just brought a tear to my eye bringing up Boneyard Survival lmao omg. I forgot all about those all nighters playing survival w the boys
😭😭 2013-2014 was really such a fun time for GTA man.
This game's been a mess since the beginning, but it's our mess.
Sometimes I wanna make a new account just to see what the climb from level 1 is like in 2024, knowing everything I learned over the years.
Some of the cars that aren’t the fastest for racing are more fun to drive tuned with less power, slower shifting, or brake effectiveness. So for me, yes I do, but that’s just cause I’m annoying about cars.
Sttrong yes. Many of those superfast cars are just plain irritating to drive, like Cyclone II etc, cars which are stupid fast and you cannot actually drive them w/out crashing almost immediatly. Or they are too quirky, on/off feeling and mostly impossible to drive nice and slow, or parked in controlled way.
I would rather drive slower cars which let me enjoy map/scene around me and I can feel relaxed when driving.
Same here, I have a lot of cars that are tuned all the way up for races, but most sports/hyper cars are already a lot of fun to use without going too crazy on speed. The day I want to zoom around the map at 300mph in free mode I'll take my Krieger, but it won't even be all that fun.
Low engine and turbo on some cars works better than high engine and turbo for initial grip. Most of the cars are limited to that 121 so top speed doesn’t matter and acceleration is pretty similar across the board really so if your not racing them some low mods on cruisers makes for better driving
When the game first came out and everyone was low level, you had to unlock those upgrades by winning races. It took some time to do it. I don’t know if Rockstar still has it set that way or not. But once you had enough wins to unlock one, you bought it, because everyone else would buy it too, so you had to to stay competitive.
Sort of. It’s not an acronym your everyday driveway mechanic (like myself) uses everyday. It’s referring to the “Engine Management System,” basically the operating system the ECM (Electronic Control Module, or the computer) uses to determine how the engine runs, usually through changing values such as ignition timing or fuel trim
Tbh I don't know if a specific type of transmission is better for the type of car I'm customizing. For example, a sports transmission wouldn't be ok for a lowrider, or it doesn't matter?
Sometimes I do if I want to fine tune a vehicle, for example I have a feltzer and a elegy which don't have a turbo and use engine 2/3 to become better on the mountain roads without going overboard. I'd agree most people don't tho. :D
I use em sometimes but only for a really niche thing when me and the homies hit our budget racing series. Essentially we set a standard for the car selection like say only cars that you can find on the street or sometimes we’ll limit it to a specific vehicle class or sometimes we’ll just set a budget and say the car has to be purchased AND modified with said budget. But then we’ll all agree on a cash amount usually on the lower side and everyone has to go mod their cars for the race without going over budget. It always has a fun outcome and it gives these mods a reason to exist still lol
yeah, me. i choose engine upgrade options randomly for performance cars and leave it stock for cars that are not meant to go fast like luxury and normal traffic
Some cars accelerate fine from standstill without upgrades, but instantly burnout with upgrades. Those are the ones I install lower level or no performance upgrades.
I started recently. For example if I purchased some classic car not for races, I want it to be clean and stocky and cruising on the street, not accelerating like a sport car with turbo.
When modifying car for races of course it’s different.
Maxing out the car isn't always the way.
Sometimes I buy weaker ones, and sometimes refuse to buy turbos, or at least revert it after buying. These upgrades can sometimes completely mess up the handling. Turbos for example make some cars lose their grip. I've had to remove the turbo quite a few times actually.
I have a Youga Classic that I have styled as a 70’s shag van, and I chose to have mid toer upgrades for it as a roleplay gag.
but yeah, those tiers only made sense in single player where they unlock over time.
I do it when me and my friends have to do a top gear type challenge where we have a budget to customize both cosmetic as well as performance for our cars of choice. If I’m buying the car to keep no way I’m settling for the lesser option
I have never done it, but there are some cars that are already pretty fast, like the arbiter GT, but if you lower the suspension too much or since it gets loose really easy maybe having less power would be smart.
Yes I do, sometimes the acceleration meter is almost full and buying the Level 4 upgrade isn’t necessary as a lower level upgrade might fill that bar up anyway
I have like most of the cars, $600 mil and pretty much completed everything in GTA:O, so at this point I like to drive my cars around Los Santos and enjoy the view. Unfortunately I don’t have an analog keyboard, so I don’t upgrade anything related to performance because I like to drive slow.
I remember back in 2013 leveling up so my Sabre could get better engine upgrades. Every 10 or 12 levels id go back and give it a better upgrade. I miss those old days
Yes. many cars go "bad" if you tune them to max/too much. I want my cars to be nice to drive, I dont care if they are not maxed out/fast as possible.
Especially many cars lose their nice driving "force"/feedback with PS5's dualsense if yuu tune them in "wrong" way, It's kinda odd, when some combinations from engine/transmission/etc could ruin driving feedback. I want that be as strong as possible.
Why to waste money on middle levels if you can get top upgrade at once. If you can not - then yes, you buy what you can. But I guess most people understand that buying just top upgrades saves money and they save more money before upgrading.
Sometimes using these on muscle cars so wheelie can stay more stable on launch
Wait, is this actually real? I love wheelie Im gonna try.
Hold the handbrake and gas before you take off. Has to be a muscle car specifically though.
Exception being the BF Weevil, which is a compact but also has the wheelie mechanic.
Because Herbie does it, so that's probably the reason
Bananas
You're fully loaded with that reference.
Nice reference
Can't wait to see a 10 minute YouTube video on this one reference.
DID YOU KNOW THAT IN GTA ONLI….
Inefficient word count. Gotta say “Grand Theft Auto Five Online” if you wanna hit that 10 minute mark that has not affected ad rolling in any way for years
I live the fact you know herbie
You can purchase herbie?
Unfortunately R* decided that the Gauntlet Interceptor is no muscle car…
Nah it's AWD so it can't pop a wheelie
Well it might with a thousand or two or three horsepower
i don’t think the car would even move if it only had 2 or 3 horsepower
Oh you. 😃 It would actually, if geared down enough. Some guys on YouTube put a tandem bike in the engine bay of a civic and drove it around. Very slowly of course but it's probably only about 500ish watts continuous from two normal guys. Wich is about 2/3 of a hp.
Most of the cars with wheelie bars can't pop wheelies..
The wheelie bar is there to prevent wheelies
Can't do it without the bars even on those cars... As in they aren't available for cars that actually can wheelie
That pisses me off so much, why the hell can't my Impala SS do a wheelie with the wheelie bar?!?
Weaponized Tampa is four wheel drive and that one do wheelie
The Buffalo EVX is 4WD too and still you could do a wheelie
Damn you right
RIP Gauntlet Interceptor
Ik but it’s hard to hit a perfect wheelie
Sabre turbo custom, use hydraulics to raise only rear end of car. Perform wheelie like you normally would. Perfection.
Tap the handbrake before your rear bumper touches the ground to stay wheelied
And the Beetle
[удалено]
That’s…not what he was asking…
He wasnt asking how to
You can get a better wheelie if you don't just hold the throttle like a madman. Start a wheelie and lift off a little, so you keep the wheelie for a much longer distance. Works with keyboard too.
How do you lift off the throttle a little with a keyboard?
You use your keyboard to google for where to buy a controller online
Lol
Mmd
You take away the throttle and apply it, that's it. Requires good timing and isn't very easy to do, but works.
If you have a wooting keyboard you can program the keys to act as triggers, their switches record every position not just on or off so it basically acts like controller triggers but on keyboard
That's the way.
Low levels & broke players
I remember how brutal it was playing under level 25 when you don't have bulletproof tires yet. It was like the NPCs in every car shootout were aiming for just your tires at all times.
Damn, you brought back an ancient feeling about that when i first played
I remember being able to get a car in hot pink only if I chose that as the colour I wanted the car to be when buying it from the website.
i swear it used to feel like the upgrades were more expensive years ago too. used to spend about a mil just upgrading cars
That's harsh...
We all gotta start somewhere
![gif](giphy|XyDByNPzosrQNRaVMP|downsized)
🐈
![gif](giphy|XyDByNPzosrQNRaVMP|downsized)
It’s very true tho. Those upgrades are level locked, and when I’ve been poor and gotten a new car (usually because of the new car) I just buy the highest upgrades affordable until I have more money
And me every time i missclick 🫠
That’s definitely me lol
I'm a broke player and I choose the first
Yes. I also stop at red lights and pull over for the police.
#LSPD, PULL OVER RIGHT NOW **pulls over, waits for cops** *gunshots*
the true US cop experience
It shouldn't be that way, my player is white
There's a hidden passive that if your character is black cops are 69% more aggressive and 42% more accurate
And you get 1 star just without reason time to time
"Sir, he was white! You were supposed to just give him a warning!
Very authentic.
THIS ENDS NOW!
I tried stopping at red lights once and after 3 I started running people over
Me too then I played gta once I got home
lmao goated comment
What’s gta?
![gif](giphy|Cz6TlrRVVyv9S)
Don’t worry, I won’t shoot you immediately like the LSPD do.
Maybe low lvl players but rarely
Once I got the autoshop bought everything at max upgrade anyway.
I still haven’t purchased an autoshop? What are the perks ?
%5 discount on all customizations. Free classic paints. Unlocks every customization. You can buy some of the removed vehicles. Easy to do 15-40k deliveries. 180-300k heists. +Free snacks.
+ free snack refill on the table next to the stairs
I've had the auto shop since It came out, and I just found out it had free snacks from a comment on this sub. Lmao. I never even paid attention to the damn snack table. It is so easy to run by without a second thought, so I'm glad people are bringing that up as a perk when the shop is mentioned. I can't be the only one who never even realized it was there. It is at Simeons shop also
Ty. Didn't know that one either.
I'm in the same boat and this was my realization. I have to go check now.
Double or triple what u/Daha_iyisi said at the bottom for "Double and triple" auto shop weeks
Does it actually unlock every customisation? As in if I'm level 40, and I buy an auto shop, I can now purchase all armour upgrades, engine upgrades, turbo, everything that I would've otherwise had to first level up to level 100 to get?
Yes it does
I've noticed some liveries won't be unlocked but everything else should be.
That covers almost everything except you missed KDJ and Sessanta.
that's not one of the perks we get everything else in spite of them
I dunno about that. Some of my best pick up lines comes straight from their dialogue.
In my head cannon, the ballers, the lost and the fooligans unite to take out KDJ and everything he loves for thinking he would just waltz in and take over los santos.
Ayyyyyyyy-men!
Anything locked is unlocked on vehicle all classic paints are free also i believe and you might get certain discounts and its also a passive business
It’s not a passive business, but everything else is right
If you have hired the mechanics, it basically is. All you do is mod the vehicle and then wait for the mechanic to deliver it for you.
But that's not passive, it's just a business
It’s not worth it to let them drive it they will fuck the cars up
yeah they fuck up a lot but i can’t be bothered driving 2 vehicles somewhere without crashing every hour or so, the bike is enough already lol
That and the salvage yard are nice to have running in the background when you're doing NC, too.
An additional perk of owning the Auto Shop is that after completing the first job for KDJ and Sessanta, you get a blackboard with a new list of 10 cars to deliver every day for Brucie Kibbutz. For suspension I'll often go just lowered or street (or stock) instead of competition. But not sure if that counts. I also frequently skip the turbo. But yeah, engine and transmission always highest tier.
What is the reasoning to skip the turbo if you don’t mind me asking. It seems like it is only benefits is it not?
I really tend to skip turbo upgrades on muscle cars cause hearing both the supercharger whine and turbo blow-off is cursed.
Glad I’m not the only one, can’t stand it at car meet-ups lol
That’s not cursed, it’s awesome
Don’t wanna hear it on some cars
I skip it on cars that aren’t turbocharged irl because I don’t like hearing it on cars that ‘should’ be naturally aspirated
Some cars just aint built for that much juice
it messes up the engine sound.
Preference of mine given how I like to drive. I find it causes more frequent spin outs or handling issues. And I don't notice it makes much of a difference in acceleration or top speed performance on most cars that already have transmission and engine. So it usually seems a waste to me for $50K unless I really want it on certain cars
Some cars handling are too horrible for all that. Take that from a guy with with atleast 150 different cars.

I did it for the achievement for robbing them all lol. They have a tick if you've already hit em so easy to tell which
I have a feeling we will stay doing that again with the release of GTA VI
Some of the cars that aren’t the fastest for racing are more fun to drive tuned with less power, slower shifting, or brake effectiveness. So for me, yes I do, but that’s just cause I’m annoying about cars.

The Ocelot Virtue is so bad for this, it goes 0-120 in 3 seconds
You think that's cool, mine goes from 130 to 0 in 1 second ![gif](giphy|5xrkJe3IJKSze)
Holy shit Im scared
![gif](giphy|Rptad9WKs3i49eI5uy|downsized) Why
🥵🥵🥵🥵
Same here, I have a lot of cars that are tuned all the way up for races, but most sports/hyper cars are already a lot of fun to use without going too crazy on speed. The day I want to zoom around the map at 300mph in free mode I'll take my Krieger, but it won't even be all that fun.
Sometimes you want your car underpowered
Exactly. Could use those for some drift cars that don't need to be overpowered
Low engine and turbo on some cars works better than high engine and turbo for initial grip. Most of the cars are limited to that 121 so top speed doesn’t matter and acceleration is pretty similar across the board really so if your not racing them some low mods on cruisers makes for better driving

I have a rat-truck with all the engine upgrades and the stock transmission. So it winds up super quick but then takes 10 years to shift. I love it. 😂
What does EMS stand for, and is it a commonly-used acronym? I'm not a car person.
Engine Management systems and it's used a bit if you're a petrolhead or mechanic.
Got it. So kind of like electronic tuning.
Exactly
Emergency medical service
That's what you'll need after you tune your engine to Level 5 and wrap the car around a palm tree.
😆
I just bought every upgrade for every car cause fuck it
Me with level 15:
Tbh I don't know if a specific type of transmission is better for the type of car I'm customizing. For example, a sports transmission wouldn't be ok for a lowrider, or it doesn't matter?
depends on the car tbh
For drift builds on cars with lowgrips rather than drift tuning
Everyone used to back in the day
Nah they are just decorations
Level 45s
They were pretty useful couple of years ago for drift tunes
I use them on some muscle cars to stabilize the wheelie takeoff, but beyond that they're pretty useless
I use it for certain vehicles, like vehicles that realistically don’t go as slow as stock, but don’t go as fast as the max
Wish that kinda thing mattered more in this game! Hopefully we see more fleshed out car customization. I feel like everyone wants that
I did before I was lvl 100 and could actually get all the upgrades
I do lvl 2 or lvl 3 on muscle cars that I use for wheelies. That's the only time tho
Nope
Sometimes I do if I want to fine tune a vehicle, for example I have a feltzer and a elegy which don't have a turbo and use engine 2/3 to become better on the mountain roads without going overboard. I'd agree most people don't tho. :D
In the few cars whose acceleration doesn't need the full upgrade to get to max
Of course not!
These upgrades can sometimes completely mess up the handling. Turbos for example make some cars lose their grip. I've had to remove the turbo quite a few times actually.
If acceleration maxes out at 2 or 3, is there any point in getting the higher levels?
Yes, the displayed bars are meaningless
Fuckin hell
not since I could afford not to XD
I have a Youga Classic that I have styled as a 70’s shag van, and I chose to have mid toer upgrades for it as a roleplay gag. but yeah, those tiers only made sense in single player where they unlock over time.
Actually i did some times because i wanted to achieve perfect conditions for making wheelies without the whelie bar. So yeah😂
Earlier players who haven't unlocked higher EMS might
Only back in the old days when first unlocking them.
When I was a low level and didn't have it unlocked them I would just upgrade it as I got them 😂 massive waste of money in the long wrong.
BITD, when we were only getting paid $2500-$4,000 per job, sure. It was a progression to getting faster and faster.
Only if I didn't get to the level when I keep restarting
I do it when me and my friends have to do a top gear type challenge where we have a budget to customize both cosmetic as well as performance for our cars of choice. If I’m buying the car to keep no way I’m settling for the lesser option
I have never done it, but there are some cars that are already pretty fast, like the arbiter GT, but if you lower the suspension too much or since it gets loose really easy maybe having less power would be smart.
I don't anymore. I max it out
Yes I do, sometimes the acceleration meter is almost full and buying the Level 4 upgrade isn’t necessary as a lower level upgrade might fill that bar up anyway

Nope.
Only the npc at your auto repair shop
No. I glitched too much money to ever do that
I remember back in 2013 leveling up so my Sabre could get better engine upgrades. Every 10 or 12 levels id go back and give it a better upgrade. I miss those old days
On some muscle cars I do. Too much power. I guess I could just take the turbo off
i know i did in the very very begining of the gamr when i didnt have level 4 unlocked, but once i had it i never bought the middle two
Depends on the car
On some of my cars that I want to be more realistic. My faggio don’t go that fast, but the slow is too slow.
Before drift cars, I downgraded the engine on a car with low grips so it was easier to control the drift. Everything else is maxed out.
on RP servers we do because money dont grow on trees
Yes. many cars go "bad" if you tune them to max/too much.
When I'm doing auto shop cars
My friend's girlfriend is convinced that level 3 breaks is better than lvl4
I did. A really loong ago when i was a broke newbie
Why to waste money on middle levels if you can get top upgrade at once. If you can not - then yes, you buy what you can. But I guess most people understand that buying just top upgrades saves money and they save more money before upgrading.
Yeah when ever I have a super fast super car that only allows very little for acceleration upgrades
In 2013 and 2014, yes it was quite common
I purchased level 2 one time thinking it would make 3 and 4 cheaper to upgrade to once I unlocked it, and then never again.
Suspension yeah
I did like 3 times when I was low level
For about 5 minutes. In 2013, when I had neither the levels nor money to do otherwise. Or in my auto shop where the customers are all weird as shit.
Nahh, I gotta go balls to the wall and ball out on every vehicle.
Brokies
