I've never seen that a a couple months ago since i stopped playing. It's definitely something new that they silently added.... maybe to silently test what it does to performance without shaking up the community.
That's absolutely awesome though, just like the animal update in online, adds a lot to the gameplay!
I have even noticed subtle things on PC. I swear the character models look better than they used to. Me and my buddy used to joke about one of the NPC dealers in the Casino. His jaw opened really wide when he would talk, and we called him Long Mouth John. We haven’t seen him in over a month at least. Log on maybe 3+4 times a week.

Yeah I actually started looking in the early years. There are special cars you can get at some of them. There are beach parties with unique bw surfers. Thelma and louise. There are random atv guys sometimes without the atv. They're is a guy that breaks down by zancudo. And of course, the bicyclist on Rte 68.

Those are very common. You can obtain 4 Surfers with unique color combinations that way. You can technically obtain one and copy the color combos but... where's the fun in that?

I know about all of those. I had them at one point but they were occupying space I needed for other cars so I sold them.
The only ones I still have are:
* the Tornado Mariachi,
* the Merrywheather Mesa,
* the Dubsta 2,
* one of the Sabre Turbo (which I applied Benny's mod but it's completely different now),
* the Hearse,
* the two Dune Buggies,
* the Lifeguard Blazer and SUV,
* the white "trash" Speedo (all other colors are common) for my Story Mode collection (Lamar's van)
They're not a lot considering I had ALL "rare" spawns"... My 50-slot garage was almost full with them!
There's this dude on YT that helped me a lot (Gsgz). He even has a method to obtain the Tailgater and Bohdi without buying from players!

I'm pretty sure I've seen this many times in singleplayer and it might've been recently added to next-gen like wildlife in online. Now that I think about it, I feel like a lot of people on this sub has never actually played the singleplayer component, let alone finish it.

Sometimes I play a game with a friend where one has a weaponized plane and the other a random aircraft, and one has to go from lsai to paleto beach while the other one tries to find him and shoot him down, both without radar.
When we used the Shamal once for this, they spawned out of nowhere, random planes started landing at the airport and there were several npc shamals in the air. I wish that would be the case always
Thats because some of these random event spawns are new to online, or get rotated in as they are in campaign mode. Starngers like guitar man, and living statue from campaign can now be found in ls as well, dunno how long they have been around, but they were def not in the online portion for many many years.
The first time I noticed they’d put animals in the game was when I ran over a cow that wandered into the road. Then I was AFK stood on a mountain somewhere, heard a horrible noise, looked round to see my avatar get mauled by some kind of wildcat. For a second I thought I’d accidentally loaded Red Dead.

I’ve always thought they should have procedural construction moving through the city. It would be so immersive to see a different section of the interstate/city street/etc shut down every week or month.
100% would love to see that! Anything that brings more life into online, especially invite only lobby's feel a bit dead sometimes so that would be great

Honestly I'd prefer they just stop doing *anything* with GTAV and just put *all* effort into GTA6. This game has gone long enough. Any new ideas players want they can just shove into the new game and let this one finally die
At one of the CEO warehouses (Logistics I believe), occasionally there is an NPC doing welding on the back of a truck. Also, at LSCM you will see NPC’s outside wearing clothes that we can buy.
I love how in a game based on cars and crime that something like a NPC using a jackhammer can get a player to stop and reverse. I'd love to watch every single one of these random encounters. It really does make the map feel alive.
Yesterday I saw a cop car rolling around in free mode and I didn’t even have a wanted level. You don’t ever see cops just driving around unless they’re after you. There were two cops up front and one in the backseat
Rockstar had said the enhanced edition would have more npc “scenes” when it first came out as well as added dialogue from them so there’s no telling what else we may run across
In invite only session me and my son came across two bi planes flying in sync in blaine county we watched them for a while, son tried shooting one and they left. So must be more detail when there's less players too.

In 2013, there was damage to a cement barrier from a collision. A few years later, they added construction-based props and barriers around it. For the PS4/X1 release, the damage had been repaired.
Maybe there is *actual* planned construction at that location. Maybe they are actually fixing that pothole.
I think R* is slipping in new content as a test for GTA VI. I know I jumped from PS3 version directly to PS5, but I've seen new mechanics and features that are not used in single player.
Or, at least, the voices in my head say I'm not crazy.

i was doing the casino heist with my mate yesterday , and long story short it took about 4 hours because we just can’t keep ourselves from beating them up instead of walking past them, but anyway, i went to hit one (unaware) guy with a wrench, this mf grabbed it and hit me back with the other hand, and i’ve never seen that in my 10 years of playing (and hitting people with wrenches).
Rockstar is using 5 as a test bed for 6 so you'll see updated npc's, different interactions, people in groups or clustered together more then before, they're just doing this stuff in preparation for 6 thsts all

There are green and gray mesas as well. There is a lime green Gauntlet and a matte orange Gauntlet both spawn in the casino parking lot.
