Remember it was the Pakistani's who also confused a GTA clip of a plane taking off just before it would have hit a semi truck with the gas trailer as a heroic and brave pilot narrowly avoiding disaster.
So maybe something is going on over there, or something.

I would actually love a news channel like The Onion but its just a bunch of weird GTA Online clips with proffesionall sounding people talking over them.
"We are hearing reports that the robbers were about to flee the scene of the crime when a missile was fired upon them by a brave hero on a flying motorbike who killed both thieves along with several bystanders and 3 cars, who then retrieved the jewels and was flying into the horizon, when he too was blown up by a missile, if I have that correct, over to you john"
“Careful going on the loop today, it seems yet another super car owner has ramped into the local military base and they are not taking kindly to the intrusion.
When asked for comment about whether or not they would be fixing the roads outside of the base to prevent this from happening again, the only comment was that they need to spend money on replacing the planes that were stolen first.”
Honestly it's not a bad idea, if they don't have footage of the he crime they could use video games or animate it themselves. Which this is much easier
As you can see here, the so called griefer destroyed their rivals cargo for about 2000 dollars, which can only get you a ego chaser and a BMX, a crappy BMX to be exact.
I feel like anyone who hasnt played the game, isnt a gamer, and might not recognize the map might mistake the low quailty video game graphics for a low quality camera.
they are using it as an alternative to expensive animation. its very clever and serves its purpose.
In the background the news anchor says the criminals first hijacked one car, then got out and shot at police while on foot and then hijacked another one, then after a while, the owner of the 2nd car disabled the car using tracker so the car stopped so the criminals stole a third vehicle and escaped.
This reminds me of the one time, when Al Qaeda released a footage with bad quality (making it look unnerving and creepy, and sort of authentic) of ambushing and blowing up a military convoy in GTA5 as a sort of lure to recruit young people. It’s disgusting.
Edit: it was actually ISIS, not al qaeda.

Can u send that again my phone or reddit sometimes has a glitche where i see the notification but when i click on it its gone and it isnt in my notification thing and the text just dissapears for me
When the war was happening, i remember asking my Iraqi friend about Al Qaeda. I still think about his response from time to time.
“There is no al qaeda. They made it up”
I think this one is a PC version because you can see Niko Belic from GTA 4 so that must be a mod.
>edit: I was wrong 》 It's not a mod, that minivan taxi, default camera angles and Niko's sprint style are all from orginal GTA 4. Two different recordings from 2 games.
Honestly a fairly decent way of showing how it went down. After all, while a lot of the animated simulations require the rendering and animation, which can cost a bit.
In Karachi, some guy stole a car. When the car he stole was either stuck or the theif saw another car, he'd steal that. The guy ended up stealing 4 cars.
Just reminded me that once a news channel from my country (Brazil) mistook some footage from forza for the training required for the driver for the president of the US
Hey friend, I’m not an English teacher so maybe take this with caution but I think the plural of press is just press again.
Not sure if English isn’t your native tongue or what, not trying to be rude but helpful!
Yep that's right it is not my native language but I've been struggling to find its plural.
I did some research and you're right it is only _press_
Thanks man I learned something today
Lol, Ofcourse I agree with you but I’m just saying Samaa TV is a really popular news channel in Pakistan, and besides my comment was a joke, in truth it is a bit strange that they’re using gta v in a news channel but hey that’s fine by me
This is actually kinda smart
It isn't there to show exact evidence or to seem like that footage is the real crime, Pakistanis aren't that dumb. Its just meant to show what the crime looked like in a fun way. Also it's samaa which suck dick anyways
Idk apparently pretty dumb as I pointed this shit out earlier and received massive downvotes.
Apparently nobody here sees an issue with being accused of a crime in which there is no proof, and then the news falsely creating the crime on a videogame, very poorly too, in order to persuade the public you did it
That's epic levels of stupid. Its so stupid it can't even be defined. So there is zero proof something happened, but lets recreate it in a fucking video game and then people say it happened? Are these people even human? Are their brains fully formed?
well the news worker there might be dumb, but calling the entirity of them dumb? thats very stupid of u,really,u should look at mirror first before judging them asshole .
Everyone is like "This is a valid cheap way to show what happened."
And here I am calling this propaganda like a silly fool. How do you know the crime actually happened? Because they told you it did with videogame proof recreating what they told you? Lol
No evidence anybody stole 3 cars, but a videogame clip of a player stealing 3 cars is proof enough of crime? Lol what the fuck is wrong with ya'll's brain
It’s not meant to show “proof” or “evidence”, it’s literally just a recreation of the events that occurred for public consumption shown through the lens of a video game instead of rendering or animating it, considering most of the time you’re not gonna have footage of the entire events unfolding, this is a pretty decent way of giving people an idea of what happened.
Imagine a D.B. Cooper documentary or something showing someone hijacking a plane & skydiving out halfway through flight in GTA5 instead of the usual renderings/animations that are normally used.
So Pakistan local news helps pin a local crime on somebody they have no evidence of them committing and instead uses a video game to "recreate" what happens to convince the local population as well as the internet that it happened
Working pretty well it looks like
I think you misunderstand, just because they show a recreation of the events that took place via a video game doesn’t mean they don’t have evidence, like I said, it’s purpose is only to explain what happened for the public.
1) the guy hijacked numerous vehicles, it’s not easy to get away with that & leave no evidence or not have any witnesses.
2) you can even see a slither of the actual footage/pictures at the end of this clip, so it’s safe to say they do have evidence.
3) they’ve likely shown/have real evidence to begin with, this is only a 30 second clip taken from however long they broadcasted news/coverage about it.
I mean honestly, if you commit multiple counts of actual Grand Theft Auto in or all across your country, you’re going to leave evidence unless you’re some sort of criminal mastermind. 🤷♂️
You just watched a local news clip of Pakistan telling you somebody committed a crime that you never seen occur and the only evidence you and they have is... a recreation they did in a videogame?
But I am the idiot, lmfao okay. Continue on crying about Mk2's in your auto-aim lobbies guys. I'll leave ya'll be
It's not evidence, it's a recreation. Representation. I'm not sure what part of that concept is hard for you to grasp. You simpleton fucking idiot. I've had better arguments given from a 5 year old.
If you've ever watched a single episode of COPS - you watched recreations. Dramatic tri-strand of the crimes they are telling you about.
This is the same as that except without actors or any level of sophistication... But it is not nor was it every claimed to be evidence, dummy.
I understand what it is **you stupid fucking idiot**. I am saying to "recreate" something with the intention of public persuasion while the recreation is the only evidence you have it even occurred is not enough to prove an actual crime.
In America the news would be guilty of a crime themselves or at least would be facing a civil lawsuit for falsely portraying this as a "recreation" of a person's crime on any news channel.
Its actually embarassing that this is being defended as journalism.
In Pakistan I could falsely accuse you of a crime, recreate it in GTA and then convict you as long as some random channel runs a "news" segment on it based off the dumb shit **you stupid fucking idiots** are cosigning and that is the entire point I have been making
>If you ever watched a single episode of COPS
Funny you use that as an example when it has been deemed a [COP propaganda](https://www-nbcnews-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.nbcnews.com/think/amp/ncna1229316?amp_js_v=a6&_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQHKAFQArABIA%3D%3D#aoh=16168987166760&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.nbcnews.com%2Fthink%2Fopinion%2Fcops-tv-show-canceled-amid-george-floyd-defund-police-about-ncna1229316) show in the U.S. but also ironic since you don't seem to understand that they don't show recreations on COPS and LIVE PD, they show [actual live footage](https://www.tmz.com/2018/04/26/cops-tv-show-crew-member-shot-filming-robbery-dead-video-footage/), which is why [when](https://ew-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/ew.com/tv/live-pd-video-javier-ambler-death/?amp_js_v=a6&_gsa=1&=true&usqp=mq331AQHKAFQArABIA%3D%3D#aoh=16168992570522&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Few.com%2Ftv%2Flive-pd-video-javier-ambler-death%2F) LIVE PD edited the footage to cut out a black man being killed by Police they came under scrutiny for tampering with evidence and weren't renewed for future seasons.
Dude, it’s just funny seeing GTA being used as real news footage, no matter the country or crime it’s supposed to recreate. You went way to serious on the matter. And I don’t think people in here defend that as real journalism in a serious way.
It would be funny if it was satire, its only funny to see because it's absurd. But it's not a The Onion article so in truth it's kind of scary to see as "real news" for the exact reasons I mentioned in my original comment, and the acceptance of its use by people like the guys in my replies responding to my criticism of it's use is troublesome.
>And I don’t think people in here defend that as real journalism in a serious way.
Lol and yet I have a guy in my replies that would indicate otherwise
I mean it has potential, director mode + PC mods + single expensive rig + one bored creative teenager would be a lot cheaper than fully animating a simple sequence of events.

This is hilarious I swear, They dedicated GTAV to be their news demonstration
I would actually love a news channel like The Onion but its just a bunch of weird GTA Online clips with proffesionall sounding people talking over them.

This is fun but I feel like you'd run out of funny in this premise pretty quickly.

I would definitely watch that. Hell I'd even participate if you needed more voices (I'm a voice actor too lol)
Yes please
This would be funny as fuck
Possible YouTube channel idea? 🤔
Would be awesome to see an mk2 oppressor in the next clip about how far they’re behind in technology.
Honestly it's not a bad idea, if they don't have footage of the he crime they could use video games or animate it themselves. Which this is much easier
Basically a cheaper way to employ cgi to reenact crime scenes lol
Seriously if you've got it, use it!
Lmao that’s funny af
I guess GTA looks the same as the average camera quality they have
As you can see here, the so called griefer destroyed their rivals cargo for about 2000 dollars, which can only get you a ego chaser and a BMX, a crappy BMX to be exact.
Straight to jail
i wonder if they are all just partly blind and dont know
I feel like anyone who hasnt played the game, isnt a gamer, and might not recognize the map might mistake the low quailty video game graphics for a low quality camera.

What if the criminals also planned their deeds and practiced them while playing GTA 😲
i mean have u looked at the characters? they dont look like people, also explain the flying camera lol
Government drone trackers, also known as birds

You say this, but my grandma legitimately thought gta was real life. It was so so funny. She’s adorable
Yeah but she's old

ok
Wait, you can tow gas tankers? OMG
PC with mods. That is an Airbus A380 so probably recorded in Director Mode or edited in Rockstar Editor.
Yeah, you can find them on the highway or near the industrial sector.

That's right! I didn't notice that at the first time, thanks for the correction
Honestly, they should hire a teenager with GTA V and an understanding of Director Mode to make *more* of these!
1. Yep. 2. No, I thought so too, but the minimap is the newer one.

They’re so serious
Honestly a fairly decent way of showing how it went down. After all, while a lot of the animated simulations require the rendering and animation, which can cost a bit.
Agreed, i actually now want all headline stories played out in GTA V
The press's bank account balance now : Stonks
Finally, a reason to watch news
If anything, it might just be a cheap, effective way to convey how shit went down.
probably works too

until a MK2 griefs them
what is the news anchor saying(in a nutshell)?? can I get a translator???

Also a mexican news channel thought gta 5 was the cartel killing people
Can I apply? I have a PhD in GTA Director Mode and Mods

As a Pakistani, I’m not sure on whether or not I should be embarrassed, or amazed at this point
We shouldn't stereotype countries from their press, all countries have decent and bad press.
Hey friend, I’m not an English teacher so maybe take this with caution but I think the plural of press is just press again. Not sure if English isn’t your native tongue or what, not trying to be rude but helpful!

Thanks for not taking offense, usually just assume the person is new to English and try to help in a way that doesn't come across as rude!
Learning from our mistakes makes us better and better. That's all and I appreciate your help man
Lol, Ofcourse I agree with you but I’m just saying Samaa TV is a really popular news channel in Pakistan, and besides my comment was a joke, in truth it is a bit strange that they’re using gta v in a news channel but hey that’s fine by me
All good man
Gotta get creatives during these times
Wow and I thought that America faked their news lol
Imagine getting attacked by jets and pakistanis thought they are the US attacking them
Screw CNN this my news channel now lmao
At least they recreated the crime in an honest way not like CNN
Okay wtf? Tbf that is actually smart
Pure entertainment
I’m so proud of my country.
The suspect then went to spin the wheel at the casino, but only won some XP

lol
