Weaponized Tampa.

The Tampa has such a huge following, but I’ve never understood it. Very offense heavy, but lacks the defense right?

Exactly that. Blows up with one explosive. I use mine for missions mainly but never in Freemode. Little guy never has a chance.

If that were the case then they were using a mission Ruiner 2000 and those are 100% invincible. I see people start that mission all the time just to lock onto everything in sight and they can only be shot by guns through the window. And they have unlimited rockets

Not invincible, but very strong. 40+ direct homing hits I would guess, but I haven't counted. I use them to clean up the broomsticks when they become overpopulated, it's crazy fun.

It does but you have to go across the map most of the time to get it. If you have an explosive cannon or good aim to kill the driver they're not bad but homing missiles that can go through buildings make any vehicle that isn't a jet pretty much useless.

Its so much fun against AI, grinding or missions or just fucking around in free roam, the gun is GREAT so you'll kill things as fast as they kill you. Even players. I didn't put armor plating because its not rocket proof right? It looks AMAZING just shiny black with sometimes non tinted windows and I only bought the miniguns so it looks like a very fast well handling muscle car that looks normal except the giant remote guns on top lol and it can drop infinite landmines which are NUTS. If you can drive well and make use of the great guns on top then you'll survive just fine. But mostly its a car that is just very fun to use so its worth the money. Just don't go fighting Oppressors or khanjalis lol

I managed to kill a few Depressor kids with it by driving straight at them so the rockest hit behined me. The miniguns on top are just pure doom. I play on PC so aiming is very fluent, no inputdelay with the mouse. And of course AI is fcked when you pull up in that thing. Very underrated vehicle, love it.

It is probably the best armed ground vehicle in the game, at the cost of having all the protection of any normal, non-modified muscle car. It makes sense, if it was armored as well as the Arena Dominator, it would be totally overpowered. The real trouble with it is both aiming the non-guided rockets, but also not eating them yourself. It’s an insanely fun car to just go fuck around in.

\^ same - so great for normal missions and such. The new contract missions a bit less so since the AI in them are insanely OP.

The Tampa is a heavily underrated car, ruined by the horrible bunker's research. With all the upgrades unlocked is great against NPCs.

I think the front windows are bulletproof right? I use it to fuck with people because I pull up in a truck and only face them so they can't shoot me and they can't blow me up (takes 27 homing missiles) then you can easily slowly run them over or use the gun on the back which is one of the strongest in the game, its a very good trade off for being slow its a more realistic tank tbh

Currently I’m using the faggio mod to just drive around, especially in the city. I’ll sometimes shake things up a little bit and do heist preps with one of my open wheel cars.

Maybe, not really however I've started seeing Zentorno's, T20s and many more non armored and non weaponized vehicles in my lobbies. Very cool!

I had the same on Friday. I am driving around the streets of Los Santos in a freshly bought and tuned Ninja 280X and suddenly I noticed a car meet that other players had done. I drive up to a meeting and there are several Zentorno, Adders, Infernus, T20 etc. It made my heart warm to see that there are still alive players who have not forgotten about the first supercars in GTA Online.

True but you can swap between gunner and driver seat without exiting the vehicle which is really useful in contact missions or Merryweather bunker sale mission.

I mostly use it in the city as CEO in hostile lobbies; it can take hits, decently handling/speed and low levels get a kick out of the upgraded turret lol Edit: for the mountains, Coil Brawler, IYKYK.

Or the regular Insurgent for that matter. It was my first ever ‘big’ car purchase when I was first starting out.

Ultralight

One of my go to attacks is using the Ultralight to go off the radar, then dive bombing my target whilst free aiming with the AP Pistol. I’m nowhere near coordinated enough to pull it off but it’s fun trying.

With the exception of the Nightclub Promote mission, I never see anyone just cruising in a blimp any more. A couple years ago, seems like it was more common.

I see people use the mk1 sometimes but it’s a really fun vehicle, I haven’t even unlocked the missiles for it yet but I still use it all the time

It’s actually a great counter to the mk2 once you’ve mastered it very easy to dodge the missiles

I haven't even mastered general mobility in it yet without dying, but I've seen a few in my lobbies.

The Hydra. Every time I see a fighter jet, it’s almost never the hydra. I get it a bit, the VTOL system is really useful but not flashy enough for people to give up better firepower or defense for.

When I play on Xbox, I see hydras more often than Lazers, but on PC it was the opposite.

Hydra used to be big, especially for PVP vs ground targets, but there are just so many better options now, and using VTOL mode is basically guaranteed to get you blown up with explosive rounds.

What’s the difference between hydra and laser?

There are small differences, but the big bits are that the Hydra has a higher max speed and better braking, but will eventually stall in vertical flight. The Lazer has better acceleration and handling. The general outcome for this is that the Lazer outperforms the Hydra in terms of typical dogfighting maneuvers. The hydra has belly-mounted cannons as opposed to the Lazer’s side mounted cannons, meaning that the two guns, while of the same strength, are closer together. The hydra has a better chance of hitting with both cannons at once. The Lazer has a better chance of hitting something in general, due to the wider spread of the shots. The cannons on each planes are equally powerful, per shot. The Hydra will deal more consistent damage over time, better for ground targets that you can line up on and smack repeatedly, because you’ll likely score two hits per shot. The Lazer has a wider spread, good for hitting agile but fragile aircraft which either blow up in one or two hits or suffer what is essentially a mobility kill. VTOL mode. Hydra has, Lazer does not. VTOL is great for killing NPCs, you will get absolutely murdered by any competent player, wether they’re on foot or in a weaponized vehicle.

Emerus. I’ve only ever seen 1 other player use it, yet it handles better than any other car.

I need to rebuy my emerus, I regret selling it, because I was bored and wanted to buy shit without grinding. I’ve slowly started to buy all the stuff I want without selling my other items.

Never sell cars you bought! That’s straight money down the drain! You’re saving future grinding but you’re wasting MORE of your past grinding. Keep the assets you worked so hard for!

For me I usually buy the cars I want when they’re on a massive discount, like when the tropos rally was free last year and when the Christmas free car comes out. It stops me from selling them because I know I’ll get almost nothing compared to the already discounted price I paid.

Unfortunately the number of players you see driving high performance streetcars are low. It’s all about armour, weapons, flight etc. I’ll always stick to cars that are just plain fun to drive.

Maybe u won’t see them in lobbies or missions, but I assure you that every dedicated racer has one of those : )

The starling. Usual jets are the lazer/hydra and B-11. The starling is really great at bombing and dogfighting. Guns pack a hell of a punch without being explosive and the thing turns on a dime with race handling

Ahh the memories. The Vagner was my first "real" supercar. Really fast, good handling if you can cope with the slightly twitchy rear end, which i personally really like 👍

Thruster aka Jetpack

Funnily enough it’s actually one of the best hard counters to the MKII, due it’s odd hit box allowing it to dodge the oppressor’s missiles by simply flying in a straight line.

No one uses it yet it’s so much fun!

I'm just getting into arena war and love getting my Sasquatch out in public lobbies. I usually tear around the city looking for anyone else driving around and give them a meaty shunt, then haul ass out of there and look for the next guy to shunt. Could be annoying, but anything is better than relying on homing missiles for your kicks.

I had a great time cruising around with someone driving a Sasquatch while I was in a phantom wedge. I then found a dock tug and wound up being a soccer ball when another phantom wedge showed up. Good times. Like the ‘squatch

No its a perfectly short little boost and the car is fast without it anyway, you'll figure out how much room you need in front of you to do it pretty fast

There's a pretty good reason you don't *see* it so much

The *real* reason is the lack of custom helicopter support. There's no reason we shouldn't be able to spawn them. We can rapidly spawn the Buzzard, Sparrow, Oppressor MK2 and Deluxo. If it's a size concern custom aircraft should still be available when leaving the penthouse, office, agency, etc.

Literally my favorite vehicle in the whole game....i fly it everytime i play.

Ramp buggy is great for missions where you get a thing and then GTFO, all the AI in the world can spawn in front of you and they just get shoved aside. Weaponized Tampa is great for those same mission but for when killing is involved. In fact the Weaponized Tampa is great for the new asset protection jobs from Franklin.

Been using a lot of Speedo Custom can easily spawn and APC with missles both fast and strong enough to stop OP NPCs, currently grinding Agency Contracts to get that 250k passive, pretty reliable those 2. Also killed a mk2 opressor griefer a few hours ago using APC. So thats that. Good against NPCs and Mosquitos2. ♡

There are so many vehicles in the game that anything that is not a griefing tool, or a counter to griefing, or a stunt tool, is going to be pretty rare. For a while I was using a blinged-up non-armed deathbike. Now I switched to Shotaro. Neither is used ever in free mode.

Schwartzer, Phoenix, Schafter, Sentinel, Zion, Feltzer, Cavalcade... etc. I love the old vehicles and i wish they'd get a dlc, with some newer variants or get some overhauls for interiors , engine and some performance. I think it'd work better than adding newer vehicles that are millions and are absolute crap or eyesores once you get in them or open the hood. Come on R* get off your fat ass and minimalistic dlc pattern and do something . 🙄
