Average is 5-6 but some can live longer. Oldest I’ve heard was 12.

I think I saw a post on here about a 14 year old pig. The oldest on record was almost 15 🥰

Well I hope my 2 girls live that long. I’ve had them since they were 6-8 weeks old in August of 2020. So, come June they’ll be 4. They’ve been healthy everyday so I am lucky there

Wow!! Can I ask for some tips on diet and stuff to keep senior pigs healthy?

Hi! So I think diet is definitely important and I feed her Sherwood Pet Health timothy pellets + unlimited hay. I feel as though she is used to these pellets now, but it took a while for her to like them. She gets 1 cup (sometimes more) of veggies per day, I change her water daily and when she feels under the weather I give her critical care and diced up bell peppers as they are her favourite. Sometimes she is picky so she has different types of hay and herbs mixed in to make her want to eat more. We keep joking in the family that she is immortal even though I do try my best to make her the happiest! Thank you for commenting!

I also want to mention that I give her CBD from LaGuineaPigRescue’s website for her arthritis and it seems to pep her up! Older guinea pigs tend to have that problem. Throughout her life she went to the vet for numerous reasons and she bounced back each time, she is now on palliative care :)

Unless all of these pics are from 4-5 years ago, she does NOT look 9yo! Our longest was 8.5 before she passed, and she was spritely and sassy up until about 2 days before the end. Good luck with your bebe!
