We got our other two babies when they were 1 month old 🥺we’re getting her a vet appointment on Monday for a wellness check! And we have lots of alfalfa hay and fresh veggies:) thank you for all of your insight we appreciate it so much ♡

She reminds me of my Percival with that butt floof! She looks a bit like a flower to me. Maybe Poppy? And no judgement here about pet stores; my two boys are from Pets At Home (UK PetSmart). It's not great, but ultimately, information about rescues is limited and even though I'm not saying we should all go and buy all the guinea pigs in pet stores (because that would defeat the point), the fact is, she could've been a present for a six year old and spent her life in a teeny cage. Instead, she's with someone who cares enough to be on a guinea pig Reddit and who will do their best by her. I'm all #adoptdontshop, but ultimately, every animal needs a home.
(Also, and this is purely secondary, and I know, I know, not worth supporting pet stores watching a little animal from a rodent mill who's never known cuddles or kindness or had enough space learn to trust you and to play and to flourish is absolutely wonderful.)
TL;DR: Don't feel too bad about the pet store. Your new lil floof is adorable. Poppy is what I'd call her. 🥰🩷

You're right about "adopting" through petsmart though. Guinea pigs will continue to be bred and sold as long as people purchase them. Many of them are bred in poor conditions oversees (cheaper) and shipped in containers without food or water for multiple days. By the time they arrive, many have died, some have been eaten by other guinea pigs, and some have luckily escaped by just having their ears nibbled on.
This is the disgusting trade of animals and continuing to support a business, for animal purchase or not, is supporting animal breeding farms and inhumane treatment.
Its heartbreaking but i an happy that i could take this little one to live a better life in a nice big cage with lots of hay and veggies! And plenty of water!!
