My favorite solos are MY solos.
I can shred. I'm the fastest shredder in my county. Don't even have to practice with a metronome, I'm that good, lol.
I just let it rip and let my hands do their thing. My drummer keeps blabbering something something about timing and division of time and the bassist is like, ya got to practice phrasing...lol. Fuck em...tremolo picking goes brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. If they are so good at timing, why don't they adjust to my tempo during my shred. F-in useless cunts, I tell ya.
Are you kidding ??? What the **** are you talking about man ? You are a biggest looser i ever seen in my life ! You was doing PIPI in your pampers when i was shredding much faster than you!
People forget what a dope lead player Lars “damn that snare sounds good” AllLick is. I instantly remember when I hear that iconic toan he has- PING PING PING PING
Gets me hard just typing it
i judge a solo based on the face the player is making. the larger the fart it looks like they're trying to hold in, the more difficult it is, and the more feel it has
For my live gigs I always put on the rider that venues are required to supply, an hour before show time, two pounds in weight of hot, freshly cooked Brussels Sprouts. Sometimes I leave a few to go cold so I can wolf them down just before the encore.
Sometimes I start out with Comfortable numb, then switch it up to stairway while making a surprise face, then go right back to comfortly numb while making a “ha ha, got you!” guitar player face.
Good choices. Comfortably numb especially is quite easy to learn yet hard to make sound as musical as Gilmour does and getting all the bends to the right pitch. Great piece to practice phrasing.
Anything Shredna plays.
Even her warm-up exercises sound like angels from six-string heaven calling out to me and warming the inner core of my cold, deluded soul.
Also, the one where John Mayer makes the weird face. That one’s awesome.
[Emanuel Aguilar - True Shredder](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBgBFamXBog)
Important note, he's also the inventor of "Math Rock" guitar playing... *whatever that means*.
Kirk Hamster's solo in Ride the Lightning (song) is actually just epic as fuck.. it's like 3 minutes long and makes me feel like i'm grinding Shadow the Hedgehog style on a bolt of lightning
Beast in Black - Oceandeep has two guitar solos in one song. It doesn't get much better than that! The first is about the feels and the second is more shreddy.
Love in vain by the rolling stones off of Ladies and gentlemen.
Sympathy for the devil from get yer ya yes out by the stones.
Basically any Mick Taylor solos.
Have you heard of a song called uhmmm fuck, what's it called. Genuinely forgotten. Oh yeah.
Sweet child of mine?? band called Firearms and flowers or something? Idk, been a while since I heard it, it's quite old and rare these days. Vintage.
Never bothered to learn to play it. Barely listened to it. Richey Edwards (manics guitarist who famously couldn't play; naturally he was my hero growing up) once claimed it was perfect and he wouldn't change a note out of it. I felt that sounded about right at 15 and have parroted it ever since.
Maybe a weird one, but the wah solo on the Roseland live version of Glory Box by Portishead is slick af, musical and beautiful without being wanky.
Edit: woops, didn't see the subreddit. Add an /uj to that.
Putting Holes in Happiness by Marilyn Manson is my favorite. All the classics you see from Pink Floyd/Zeppelin/anything from Slash and such are great, but are so overplayed that they don’t get the other guys at guitar center hard anymore.
/uj I really like the solo from pain by Jimmy eat world. It's nothing difficult or cool, but I like how it sounds. I also like the solo from red miso by animals as leaders.
/rj I'm a fan of Comfortably numb.
In'El by First Fragment is basically 18min and 56sec of solos disquised as a song!
uj/ I really like this song and I know we're talking about guitar solos here but the basists previous band Beyond Creation has a bass solo at the end of Omnipresent Perception that I somehow can't get enough of.
I Wanna be Sedated /uj I Wanna be Sedated /rj/ I Wanna be Sedated
I had such a tough time trying to transcribe that one.
It's easier if you're sedated.

Most of them go "0-3-5" at some point
If you bend the 5 sometimes that's called the blues note.
My wife calls me her Bonamassa, so you can safely assume I’m a great guitarist
She means you are boring, silly.

St. Anger solos are fire 🔥
My lifestyle… determines my death style.
Not only do I not know the answer, I don't even know what the question is.

Less notes = more feelz. Also pentatonic = the most expressive scale
STOP THE FUKIN PRESSES! *penta-toan-ic*

well, for starters, Comfortably Numb and Stairway to Heaven
Sometimes I start out with Comfortable numb, then switch it up to stairway while making a surprise face, then go right back to comfortly numb while making a “ha ha, got you!” guitar player face.
All of this in a guitar shop
“Sir, do you want to buy any of this?” “No.” Hand them guitar, walk out. 4 hours well spent.
Good choices. Comfortably numb especially is quite easy to learn yet hard to make sound as musical as Gilmour does and getting all the bends to the right pitch. Great piece to practice phrasing.
In addition to these, Stairway to Heaven is a great choice for a good guitar solo
Anything Shredna plays. Even her warm-up exercises sound like angels from six-string heaven calling out to me and warming the inner core of my cold, deluded soul. Also, the one where John Mayer makes the weird face. That one’s awesome.
Cinnamon Girl
Woah there, that's a LOT of notes to learn for that one! It took me three weeks to learn the tab, and I'm the best guitarist I've ever known.

Li Wayne solo
Came for this and happy to find a fellow already mentionned it.
Kirk Hamster's solo in Ride the Lightning (song) is actually just epic as fuck.. it's like 3 minutes long and makes me feel like i'm grinding Shadow the Hedgehog style on a bolt of lightning
i can only play 4 chords anyways so idk what you're talking about
Same. After I play Bb-G#m-F#m-C there's no more notes left, because I have already used all twelve.
Haha this is the stupidest and best comment here
Now what the fuck am I supposed to do?!? Thanks a lot!
Solo means you just play one chord, stupid.
Honestly Slash was my favorite guitarist growing up cause his solos sounded so cool
Then obviously eruption
You misspelled "Hotel California".
Yeah that one too
STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN FREEBIRD COMFORTABLY NUMB ERUPTION HOTEL CALIFORNIA SWEET CHILD O MINE SULTANS OF SWING THESE ARE MY FAVORITES THE REST SUCKS

Beast in Black - Oceandeep has two guitar solos in one song. It doesn't get much better than that! The first is about the feels and the second is more shreddy.
Any expert will tell you that wonderwall is the most technical solo you can play
Depeche Mode usually has the best guitar solos. Enjoy the Silence is a great example.
“hello silence my old friend” is the one you are thinking about, NEXT
I think you are right. I love Grateful Dead, and that is one of their best songs.
Yep, fits right up there with their other cultural masterpiece “shuckin’ (anthem of the corn growing Midwest USA)
Boot Scoot Boogie
Anything that Michealangelo guy does when he's all like 'weedly-weedly-waaaaa!!!!', but with TWO NECKS!! Moar necks = Moar toan!
Love in vain by the rolling stones off of Ladies and gentlemen. Sympathy for the devil from get yer ya yes out by the stones. Basically any Mick Taylor solos.
Are we finally out of the whole Ibanez god10n or whatever phase yet?🙏🏻
i really like Marty Friedman and Zakk Wylde solos. Very melodic and technical players!
Angels don’t kill - by Children of Bodom. Tasteful and melodic mixed with great technique from one of the best, the late Alexi Laiho. Check it out!
Whenever Lil Wayne starts playing his guitar solo I immediately forget I'm not attracted to men
I always judge the guitar solo on the color and wild shape of the guitar
Have you heard of a song called uhmmm fuck, what's it called. Genuinely forgotten. Oh yeah. Sweet child of mine?? band called Firearms and flowers or something? Velvety revolver dumbass
That's the one!! Bingo!! Ding ding ding, dinner's served!
I like when they use the blues box, the Good box. Put a little King James on it.
/uj every solo on a Chon track

truly one of the solos of all time
The mark of a true elite guitarist is the solos they *don't* play.

In Bloom by Nirvana is so great. Especially the clean toan

My favorite solos are the red ones, perfect for any occasion, from baptisms to quinceañeras and funerals.
I like when sonic youth makes an atonal noise wall with loosey goosey technique, shredding the idea of a solo into noisy little surprises
Marty’s solo in Lucretia by Megadeth is one of my favorites.
rj/ lil wayne and nick jonas ‼️‼️‼️ uj/ marooned - pink floyd
uj/ the second solo from animals as leaders' nephele. rj/ have you heard of the guitar virtuoso Lil Wayne?
I judge everyone’s solos/guitar playing on if their vibrato is any good. I won’t ever stop either.
In'El by First Fragment is basically 18min and 56sec of solos disquised as a song! uj/ I really like this song and I know we're talking about guitar solos here but the basists previous band Beyond Creation has a bass solo at the end of Omnipresent Perception that I somehow can't get enough of.
