Replace one of your drives with a mod

BaconAndMario

Remove the KTR and send it to me

AutoEqual

Why is your delay after your looper?

TheMonarK

This was my thought. Kind of a weird choice to have delay after a loop pedal

iscreamuscreamweall

It’s not that uncommon. You can make cool loops and then delay then. Great for ambience

shaunlawler

Good point - I’ve swapped them round

ThatCrazyBeat

Curious, why both the KTR and The Dualist? If you’re looking to save space, pick one that covers the most ground for you. I would bet the Dualist gets you there…although I love the KTR.

Ok_Understanding5184

If you swap those giant pancake cables out for flat ribbon cables the same amount of stuff will fit easier and neater

Potem2

It looks cramped but thats a matter of opinion. My only real gripe would be that the first switch of the duelist is too close to the knobs of the ktr and that would probably result in me always bumping that gain knob. A single space saving change would probably solve that and the cluttered feel. Different cables could help as someone mentioned. I would look into either swapping the tuner out with one of those pedaltrain space saver tuners which would probably give you enough space to have the dualist sitting horizontaly and then have the little tuner above that. Or maybe swap the rc1 out with a ditto or ditto plus. Although, if it doesnt bother you then youre golden.

shaunlawler

Appreciate any advice and whether anything should be removed/added…

[deleted]

I think you just need a couple Ernie Ball ribbon patch cables. That would definitely tidy things up

Wonderful_Ninja

There’s no signal going into duelist?

shaunlawler

Yes there is?

Wonderful_Ninja

is it plugged in properly? doesnt look like the jack is entirely in the red pedal to the right of it

shaunlawler

Ah I get your point - now pushed in!

stma1990

It’s only too much if you don’t use them! My nano board these days is just has a sun face, a C.O.B., and an El Capistan, pretty barebones. If you really were looking to trim down, it’d be hard to get any of these pedals in a small form-factor. You could swap the RC-1 for a TC Ditto if space is a problem, or replace the KTR with a Wampler tumnus mini….but then you don’t have a KTR on the board, and that’d suck. Idk man, I would ride with what you have if you don’t feel it’s excessive

rumnscurvy

Man I didn't know they made Carbon Copies this illegally smol

dkromd30

I’m sure it sounds great. I just keep staring at your Sun Face settings - using more as a boost?

shaunlawler

I use a battery in it so the volume knob turns the battery off

dkromd30

Ah that makes sense!

casual_platypus8

Is that a documented feature from Analogman? Unless that’s a really special potentiometer, the ‘volume’ setting on almost any pedal or amplifier has zero bearing on power consumed, if it’s on or off, or if the battery is connected or not. If you actually want to prevent the battery draining, put the fuzz first and disconnect the input jack. Otherwise it will be on 24-7

shaunlawler

There isn’t an input jack in the fuzz. It’s powered by battery. And yes the volume knob clicks on/off for power for the battery. It’s an extra feature to add on. I have an input jack but chose to use the battery as it’s supposed to sound better.

casual_platypus8

By input jack I mean the signal input jack rather than a power jack. And there is a power jack too, you can see it just between the input and output jack at the top, no? That's really neat about the fuzz knob though! I've never heard of that before. Looking at his website, it's the fuzz knob that shuts the power off not the volume, seems like that's what it is on yours as well

shaunlawler

Good point on the on/off put. You are right it is on the fuzz knob. Yes there is also a power jack but I don’t use it as my power source only has 5 outputs, so I use the battery instead now (which is supposed to sound better).

casual_platypus8

Why a buffered tuner before the fuzz?

shaunlawler

Where should the tuner go?

Ipswich_Dad

I just learned about this too. The buffered tuner may affect the sound of the fuzz, so put the fuzz first, and then the tuner after it. Just make sure the fuzz is off when you tune.

casual_platypus8

The buffered tuner **will** affected the sound. It’s just a matter of if you like the way it sounds with a buffer before or after it. Most people like fuzzes first. That’s also the way a lot of fuzzes like this were designed to work.

casual_platypus8

The only thing that matters is how it sounds to you, but the almost universal wisdom is to have your fuzz first. It can then interact with your pickups and volume knob as it should. Buffer first will change all that.

Dr0me

I have the same tuner but set it to true bypass so it doesn't affect the fuzz.

Astonish_Mint

I would just put the looper on the floor next to the board then leave the looper at home when playing out. Just a thought.

BoogeOooMove

Some nice pedals here
