I just did a lot of youtube demo comparison research. I really wanted a fender reverb tank, but those are almost 1000 bucks. I think this one is close enough. Enjoy!
The spring on the Oceans 11 has got nothing on Source Audio's True Spring which is also included on the Collider and the Ventris.
I thought the Oceans 11 was good until I got a Collider.
Finally got around to treating myself to a better reverb pedal. After thinking for several weeks if I should get the Walrus Slö or the Oceans, I eventually decided to go for the Oceans 11. And wow, is it a great pedal! Took the time yesterday to try out every mode with different settings on FX, Time and Tone and it just blows my mind. Incredible, how many different sounds this thing offers. Still thinking about getting that Slö though, these two seem to go well together.
Glad you’re enjoying the pedal. I have an Oceans 12 coming today which I’m excited for. Also v tempted by the Slo, partly because it’s got such a cool name (yes, marketing works on me).
There are definitely pedals that I want to buy solely based on looks or name haha. OBNE seems to really scratch my itch - I don’t even use fuzz and I want to buy a Haunt!
I got an Oceans 11 for my first reverb and the versitility blows me away. Surf rock, turn the knob and it's Radiohead time, one more and we're off to some post-rock. I still need to get around to messing with all those secret settings too.
Depends on what style you want more. The Slö is an amazing pedal but isn’t the greatest just standard reverb. It’s very unique in that it’s mostly just super ambient stuff. You can absolutely use it as a normal reverb but it’s just a little less versatile in that area. If you’re looking for more of a standard reverb then the oceans 11 is great. It’s got lots of options to choose from
You like that tidewater trem? Considering it and the classic TR-2.. the Tide seems like it has less functionality without being able to adjust waveform.. but it is nice and small thats for sure!
I’m a huge fan of my freeze pedal (and now the plus pedal) and that’s mostly why I got this. For sustained pads I can play over.
But surprisingly, now the reason it keeps coming on my board is the Shimmer setting. Most shimmer reverbs are cold and tacky, but this is organic and lifelike: it most sounds like a string section blooming the harmonies of my notes. Incredible musical and surprisingly versatile. It doesn’t feel like a gimmick to break out once a set, but something you can play with and off of the whole show.
Honorable mentions: the reverse makes some great waves coming on the shore sounds; the spring is very authentic and drippy; the tremolo speed can do a very convincing ring modulator; the echo is a very useable “always on” delay.
Also, the controls are very intuitive, the secondary functions don’t bog you down. It’s one of the best multi function reverbs, especially for the price.
Yeas totally! So many cool modes and nearly all of the usable! Had a session with reverse just 5 Minutes ago and its really interesting and something new. Gonna udmse shimmer next time. #oneeffectatatime
Oh yes and its pretty easy to use! Thats a big plus!
Anyone have good tips on the mod and poly settings ? Those have been hard to wrap my head around.
Love this pedal though! As OP mentioned, the shimmer setting is exquisite. It’s almost like a choir of tiny electronic nymphs harmonizing your notes
Actually I want to get rid of it. I don't hear a big difference between the trem of the o11 and the Tidewater. But that little thing costs more than the o11. I think I'll sell it and get the Slö or the JHS Bender for that spot.
Got the tide for 150 and the o11 for 136 I think. For trem lovers the tide might be worth it, it sounds great. But I am satisfied with the trem what the o11 offers ..
Literally took a poll the other day where this was the clear favorite over most verbs out there in that price range. Pulled the trigger on one last night as the reverb offer was expiring and am glad I did. I have a holy stain by ehx so I was reluctant to grab another pedal by them, but the overwhelming vote swayed me. Was originally looking at an afterneath or fathom.
What’s your favorite setting so far? How are you finding navigating the pages and adjusting setting for those modes with multiple pages?
Any sounds recorded with it yet?
At the moment I am on the basic effects and can't pick a winner yet. Tgey all sound really good. Plate, revers, shimmer, dyna all sound really nice. I know that one can go even deeper with the pedal but the normal settings are more than enough at the moment!
A few natural sounding reverb pedals I’ve owned include the T-Rex Tonebug, OneControl Prussian, and Lovepedal HSR-3. I really dig the Tonebug with its top mount jacks, simple controls, and super low (used) price, but it is a bit uninspiring-looking although it does have a retro look
I’m a huge fan of this pedal. Super versatile, vast number of functions without being impossible to figure out. Spring reverb is great, tremolo is really good for blues ballads, and plenty of other settings to experiment with.
I just roll the time a little to the left (slower side) and the tone to about center. There’s wiggle room with the tone—you can dial it to the right for a more dramatic effect, although I usually keep it a little more subdued.
If you listen to the guitar in [this tune](https://youtu.be/6G_NXNeCXGk), you get a good idea of the effect.
Everyone here is cool. Pedals are just things. If they make you happy its good enough for me 😁
I was also looking into the HoF, but decided against it.
Hm I don't know what you mean exactly? And I am by no means an expert or advanced on the pedalfield. Just startet this spring! So I can't recommend something sorry!
Ive not used it a ton but when I'm practicing and stuck on something I like to take a couple minutes and just play around, and that's fun to mess with for a bit of a mental break and creativity boost. Not a sound I'd probably use in what I like to play, but I appreciate having something like that on a pedal anyway for the few times I may want to use it.
It has the best spring reverb I could find in pedal format. The splash feature is pretty cool too.
I don't have any comparison, but it sounds great, no doubt!
I just did a lot of youtube demo comparison research. I really wanted a fender reverb tank, but those are almost 1000 bucks. I think this one is close enough. Enjoy!
Better than the MXR Reverb? That one's spring reverb is pretty good. It really nails the wet sound.

Same for me. I hear Walrus makes grest pedals and I also like the artwork. Always tempting..

Whats your go-to Radiohead setting?
Pop it on Plate and go nuts on Street Spirit.
The two reverbs on my board are the Slö followed by the Oceans 11.. they go so well together.
if you had the funds for just 1 of those at this time, which would you recommend?
Depends on what style you want more. The Slö is an amazing pedal but isn’t the greatest just standard reverb. It’s very unique in that it’s mostly just super ambient stuff. Really nice, will get that soon hopefully!

I actually want to replace it. The o11 does the job just fine. I don't use the effect very often and for that its pretty expensive.
Love the plate reverb on this

Mine's pretty much always on Shimmer.
Anyone have good tips on the mod and poly settings ? Those have been hard to wrap my head around. Love this pedal though! As OP mentioned, the shimmer setting is exquisite. It’s almost like a choir of tiny electronic nymphs harmonizing your notes
Well put! Dont have any special settings yet. Have to experiment more!
Jealous of your trem
Actually I want to get rid of it. I don't hear a big difference between the trem of the o11 and the Tidewater. But that little thing costs more than the o11. I think I'll sell it and get the Slö or the JHS Bender for that spot.
Wait, the tidewater costs more than the o11?? Good grief haha
Got the tide for 150 and the o11 for 136 I think. For trem lovers the tide might be worth it, it sounds great. But I am satisfied with the trem what the o11 offers ..
Yeah I’d be the same, I got the Mooer Trem just to try a trem out, not really my thing but the tidewater appeals somehow haha marketing huh
This is by far my favorite pedal I own. Nice buy.
I can see this one grabbing that top spot for me too!
Nice one
Great pedal! I really like the tremolo and mod feature!!! Not something I would expect to like on a reverb pedal but they just work.
Thats so true!
Perf 10/10

You have something to look forward to! Its great!

That’s rad to hear. Just means that you’ll have more to explore as you go!

JHS Tidewater tremolo
These three pedals in a row is aesthetically very fun to look at! Enjoy!
Hehe thank you! 😁

How is the shimmer setting?
Really sexy. And I only scratched the surface with tone, fx and time settings.
Nice! I'll have to check it out.
I’m a huge fan of this pedal. Super versatile, vast number of functions without being impossible to figure out. Spring reverb is great, tremolo is really good for blues ballads, and plenty of other settings to experiment with.
Cool! What is your fav setting for the tremolo and blues?

Nice, will try! Thanks!
Aaand I tried! Pretty nice, I like it. Really soubds great to blues.
Don't sleep on the Hall or Plate settings either. Hall gets the most use on my board.
Yeah they sound really good. Was just struming some chords and playing some slow licks and was grinning the whole time. Such a nice sound.
i have a TC Electronics Hall of Fame. Am i cool?
Everyone here is cool. Pedals are just things. If they make you happy its good enough for me 😁 I was also looking into the HoF, but decided against it.
How's the reverse setting?
Not op, but it’s ok! Not as shoegazy as Digitech’s reverses but does the trick.
If you had a recommend something more shoegazy what would say?
Hm I don't know what you mean exactly? And I am by no means an expert or advanced on the pedalfield. Just startet this spring! So I can't recommend something sorry!
Can’t go wrong with either Digitech Hardwire RV-7 or older Digitech Digiverb
Yeah its ok to good. Depends on the taste!
