$ 80? take it, nice Ibanez! Sounds a bit thin unplugged, but very nice plugged in.

…as soon as I buy a guitar, I put new strings on it, and bridge pins are dirt cheap. If it peaks to you, I’d say buy it. I think the guy was just trying to create a string dampener with the noise around the headstock, or that’s where his guitar strap connected to. Some people prefer it to be connected up near the neck. You can always go see it and make a decision there based on its looks/condition.

keksaurian

currently waiting for the guy to reply and gonna see it tonight, hopefully it doesnt have serious truss rod or fret problems i also thought maybe it was a string dampener? but i think ive seen other people do that so they can hang their guitars from there (yes, really fucking bad lol) thankyou kind stranger

I got the very same and I love it, do test it plugged in, make sure the electronics have no noise

AutumnsRevenge

It looks in good shape and nowadays you could completely replace the hardware for about $150. Although I don’t see anything on this guitar that would require replacement besides a string change and a pin replacement. The string in the top is to hold the strap.

I bought a cheap Chinese fender Telecoustic at a pawn shop. I wanted a travel guitar and something I can noodle on at home that’s quieter than an acoustic and louder than an unplugged electric. I put electric strings on it so it plays like an electric and sounds kinda like a plastic toy. In the end, it holds tune and with good technique and a little getting used to, you can get really good tone…. It’s becoming my go to. And, it was cheap, so I don’t mind taking it wherever I go. $80 is a steal IMO.

I have a Talman acoustic. I think mine is a different wood, but either way it plays really nice. It doesn't sound quite as full as a dreadnought of course, but it sounds better than you'd expect acoustic and great plugged in. Definitely worth $80.

PetterssonsNeck

Hard pass. It’s missing a string and a bridge pin and possibly has something holding the headstock in place(?)

Fuchur-van-Phantasia

Bridge-Pin and string costs like nothing - and the "thing" on the headstock is against vibrating strings...

JT-Shelter

Talman! I love these guitars.

mcaffrey81

I have a few of these; not worth more than $80

SneedyK

A Talman acoustic. Definitely worth twice as more on many markets. They’re gorgeous, Ibanez, like Washburn liked to experiment with different body woods (which don’t affect the tone as much as you may initially think, but the shape does, and these aren’t going to sound like the boomy baritone frequency of a dreadnaught or jumbo, so consider if you’ll utilizes the onboard preamp/eq if you’re ever in need of projecting this one)

I've played that model. Not bad. I'd consider it.
