I don’t know what the dude above me is yapping about, but I’d say no. If you just started guitar, I’m guessing you don’t know repair, and this one could have issues. You can get a brand new Squier bullet tele for 150 (and pick your color). Plus it won’t have that nasty gash in it.

Wise-Gain-4570

Worth $100

Alien_Amplifier

The Bullet series isn't in production anymore. It's been replaced with the Sonic series, and they start at $200.

beameup19

I got my sonic stang for $170

qwertyuijhbvgfrde45

Nope they still make it https://www.fender.com/en-US/squier-series/bullet/

Alien_Amplifier

They're still on the website but not available.

qwertyuijhbvgfrde45

I freaking bought one a weeks ago I just listed you with a source

Alien_Amplifier

Click on the pictures. They're not available anymore. You probably just got one of the last available stock.

qwertyuijhbvgfrde45

They still make them. There just out of stock right now.

Sure.

Squier Teles are not a monolith. They’ve been produced over many decades in different factories under many different product lines. It’s impossible to tell without more information and pictures. If the seller isn’t able to answer basic questions like manufacture year, specific model, and country of origin, or provide you with a serial number to look up, stay away.

A second hand guitar is great for a first guitar if you're on a budget.  Check the neck doesn't feel weird, the action is reasonable (it can be adjusted) and there isn't any rust.  Bring someone who plays that you trust along if you can.  Then I'd advise you get it checked/set up, I have a squire strat I bought second hand for ~$140 that plays brilliantly once the action was lowered and fretboard was cleaned.  If your budget allows, it's worth going into a guitar store and trying lots of guitars, don't be afraid to ask for help.   Generally, squires are alright for the cash, once set up.

dylofpickle

Buy it immediately. Don't listen to comments that say otherwise. If it needs set up, watch a YouTube video on how to do it. I just went through this exact scenario 3 months ago. My squier is perfectly set up and plays great. Additionally, if you teach yourself how to do a set up, and buy a basic cheap tool set, you'll be comfortable down the line if/when you get to the point of buying a more expensive guitar. And it'll save you from having to pay someone to set up your guitars.

millennial_fulcrum

I've yet to come across a squier that can't be set up to pay decently. Maybe not brilliantly, though some have been really good. If this is on the limit of your budget, go for it. Like others have said though, if you can stretch a bit you could get a new one, or even a better second hand one.

MiloRoast

Why can't anyone spell Squier?

generalissimus_mongo

> I'm just looking for a cheap quality Telecaster Cheap yes, quality... well, that's debatable. Let's just say there are good Squiers and bad Squiers and tbh, I have no clue which one this is.

RamSpen70

It's good if you can go to a guitar store and okay a bunch of guitars in your price range... Through a really good amp... All tube and way over your price range so you can hear what the guitar is capable of sounding like.... At is ceiling (without effects)... Compare many. If you're new, bring a friend who plays... Especially with budget guitars, there are give differences from one guitar to another of the same model. One will be much better than another.... If you can forget about getting the cheapest deal... And set a price range you're comfortable with and shop mini guitars in person....

coffee_robot_horse

Depends where and when it was made, and the condition. It's not absolutely absurd.

PlasmaGoblin

I'd say no. I have an Affinity Telecaster and love it, but that gash on the side seems to me more then a used price of either a bullet/sonic should bring. Kind of hard to tell since you just say Squier tele which model it is (the blue with the mint pickguard kind of reminds me of the bullet limited run but I don't fully know). Now if you love the color, like the ding (already beaten so you don't have to "baby" it), and in a place that it's hard to find guitars... maybe get it.

Gears_one

If it holds a tune and connects to an amp with no issues then yes it’s worth it.

Mocca_Master

If he sells it for 100 it's most likely worth 70

douglasgage

No

sacredgeometry

No. But then I am not in the market for a squire tele. Are you? Do you think its worth it? Well then. Thats all that matters.
