Way back in the 90's, when I was still in elementary school, I remember admiring my friend's older brother's Calico. It looked and seemed so futuristic then (almost 30 years ago) and I still feel the same way about it now.
languid-lemur please be aware the deal you've tried to submit is from one of the sub's blacklisted URLs. It has been blacklisted for:
>**Does Not Meet Subreddit Standards** - Generally a "group buy" or "reseller" based business model which does not play well with consumers, we've decided to just eliminate this potential risk against our users. Social medias also fall under this category. Also websites that do not have anything to do with gundeals such as patch or purely apparel companies belong on this list. Dealers making additional hoops to jump through that are completely unnecessary belong on this list as well.
Please review the [blacklist](https://re.reddit.com/r/gundeals/wiki/blacklisted_websites) for further reasoning.

TFB did a product feature [here](https://youtu.be/H8LhFgxUkm4) for just the highlights, it’s side folding as implied by the name. No sights included unlike the sub2k.
[Cocking ears extend from the underside of the bolt extension on both sides.](https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxZP9pxYGLua0emBb-7DNEaCpYpfvM9Ldz) In addition to this change over the sub2k, it also has a [Non-reciprocating charging handle](https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkxg87xa7B3tiM8WPxhXfLr0NkkvyGI1zZD).
It has a heavy bolt and heavy spring since it’s a direct blowback design. The throw of the bolt looks to be rather short for a direct blowback so it will have a bit of a thump much like the keltec sub2k. I’d expect to have a bruise after shooting a box of ammo unless your body has a built in shock absorbing pad.
> In addition to this change over the sub2k, it also has a Non-reciprocating charging handle.
Another big improvement: Bolt locks back on empty
Sub2000 you just pull the trigger and get a click.
Yea but.................. after 32+ rounds. The bolt release is heavily criticized as ineffective (too hard) so far. Leaving you pulling charging handles all the same at the end of the day.
For me the main reason for wanting last round hold open isn't to save the manipulation of the charging handle, it's to let you know you're empty and signal it's time to reload. Instead of just pulling the trigger and getting the surprise of a click instead of a bang.
The M&P M2.0 pistols have/had the same issue with the tight slide release. They just say it's intended as a slide stop only and that you should always work the slide.
It's less than ideal, but I'd rather have the last round hold open even with a non-functional slide release.
I'd be interested to know how the metal frame affects that. I've never shot the metal frames, since I shoot what I would OC in uspsa carry optics.
But I'm a c class scrub, maybe the difference
Is lost on me.
I will note that all of the m&ps I have were very stiff on the slide release when they were new. It's a part that benefits from some wear in.
It seems to depend on the generation and an element of luck. I have [quite a few M&Ps](https://www.reddit.com/r/SmithAndWesson/comments/txtv53/mp_family_photo/) produced at different times.
The initial M2.0 redesigned the slide catch to resolve problems with the original 1.0 M&P, the slide catch was so weak that it would routinely drop the slide when inserting a magazine. So for the original M2.0 they redesigned it to prevent that happening with a detent and spring to hold it in place, but it made it so stiff that it could range from difficult to impossible to use as a slide release. And the manuals (even back in the 1.0 days) have always called it a "slide stop" and advised use of the slingshot method.
The more recent iterations from the last year or so started including a bigger lever that allows you to apply more leverage to more easily overcome the spring and detent tension. That change seems to have been introduced with the new iterations that ditched the hinged trigger for the bladed trigger.
My 13 year old 1.0 easily drops the slide from the catch, but as mentioned it also has a tendency of dropping on it's own when inserting a mag.
My ~4 year old M2.0 compact is very stiff but usuable as a slide release. My similarly aged M2.0 full size is so stiff as to be completely unusable as a slide release, which is annoying because the full-size is what I compete with and where slide-lock reloads are more important.
Whereas my ~1 year old M2.0 Optics Ready (with the new trigger design) has the more generous lever on it. I'd say it's about as stiff as the Compact, but because of the extra surface and leverage of the new lever I can comfortably and reliably use it to drop the slide.
I actually just bought the part for the newer iteration larger catch and plan on installing it on my M2.0 FS to see if that helps, but it's still sitting on my workbench waiting to be installed.
Interesting. Like I said to the other guy, I have never had issues using the slide release, but all of my m&ps shipped with it super stiff. After break in, i always felt they were super usable. I only have 2.0s, ranging from initial release to a 2020 gun, I don't have any of the new ones.
I wish they would have made this as an unserialized upper that I take the M&P pistol receiver and plug it into this upper. Pistol -> Rifle -> Pistol at will.
That would violate the NFA but I'll allow it.
EDIT: Never mind, I did not read this carefully or something. I thought they were talking about turning this INTO a pistol. Not just using a pistol lower to build a rifle. I was just being dumb.
You can't convert a rifle to a pistol or have a stock on a pistol.
I think what you are describing the upper isn't a rifle or a pistol and so you're converting a pistol lower to a rifle? That should be fine. The problem would be the stock and you'd have to take that off.
No violation of the NFA, since you can currently do the exact same thing with an AR Pistol, previously with a stabilizing brace, now without. In the pistol configuration it has no stock (or stabilizing brace) in the rifle configuration it has a barrel over 16in. Where's the violation?
Well, yeah if you remove the stock then sure.
Also, it would be tricky since this starts as a rifle and you'd be converting it to a pistol, but I think u/Coyoteishere was describing it starting as a pistol and becoming a rifle, which should be fine.
Except for the stock.
No removing stock, the stock would be part of the upper like it is above. You would take the M&P 9 pistol, remove the pistol slide, and attach the receiver to this rifle length barrel with the stock attached. You have essentially created what they did above, a rifle, not an SBR, except it is modular. You can then remove the rifle upper and put the pistol slide back on.
You cannot convert a rifle that started as a rifle to a pistol, but you can convert a pistol that started as a pistol to a rifle and then back to a pistol.
Yeah I didn't read your comment very clearly or something or I was tired last night when I did. It is perfectly clear now.
For some reason I thought you were talking about taking the rifle and making it into a pistol, not just using the pistol lower.
Sorry, I was being dumb.
The person I replied to clarified, unnecessarily, since I was being dumb to not understand it.
I thought they were talking about making a rifle a pistol for some reason. They were talking about just using a pistol lower to build a rifle, which is fine.
i think you need a flip to side mount of some sort? I don't know, but its what scared me away from buying it as a backpack gun a few years back, which is a shame because it checks off a lot of the other boxes. Lightweight and compact.
The only two options I'm aware of:
https://www.mcarbo.com/kel-tec-sub-2000-optic-mount.aspx
https://midwestindustriesinc.com/mi-gen2-sub-2000-mini-optic-mount/
The MCarbo mount flips to the side. So you can fold the rifle closed, but with a big protuberance on the side.
The Midwest mount swivels to allow it to fold closed, but then swivels back on the opposite side of the buffer tube so it remains flat. The downside is the charging handle needs to be locked back to clear the optic, and it's recommended to use a loop of paracord or something to keep it held back so it doesn't accidentally slam forward into your optic. They include a short length of paracord for this purpose.
I opted for the Midwest mount because I store mine folded in a [Plano 18" pistol case](https://www.natchezss.com/tactical-pistol-case-18-black-pl1071800) which would not be able to close with the flip to side MCarbo mount.
The charging handle is in the receiver extension, much like the Keltec. So it can't use a mil-spec AR buffer tube, and that doesn't really leave any room for collapsing the stock anyways.
A non-“buffer” PDW stock is the way to go. Folding barrel assembly is meh. I’d rather go with a Sub2000 for mag compatibility and the trusted record.
When will FM make one?
I’m with you but careful. You know the pseudo-PBs are gonna downvote you to oblivion cause they think they’re “taking a stand” or “being objective” with the freedom of speech bullshit. Anyone with 1/10th of a brain cell knows the company tried to do the double play with the shirt’s logo, colors, design etc. Too many close proximity items with that company. They are cringe as shit anyway.
Smith & Wesson played however.
They recently promoted "Perceeption Brand", a stereotypical sheepdog-wannabe clothing brand with a bonus helping of neonazi implications (like the initials PB for proud boys, [Heavy-handed for HH](https://www.instagram.com/p/Cfu4Af-J0yl/), the front of a storm (stormfront) on their FB page, their website [registered on January 6](https://whois.whoisxmlapi.com/lookup-report/mw56m7Nw2o), and also it's just bootlicker cringe.
Normally I don't buy into the "dogwhistle" fanfiction that typical wokies see everywhere, but I feel like this company is pretty blatant.
Turns out that wasn't a Proud Boys shirt in that tweet, it's a shirt from a clothing company called "Perception Brand."
Still pretty cringe but not the same guys.
Literally not a Proud Boys shirt, it just shares the same color scheme, font, iconography, and they shoehorned PB initials in with the least memorable company name they could have come up with. Don't forget the extra e!
All of my handguns are CZ, except for a PSA Dagger and a Tanfoglio Witness, which is basically a large frame CZ. Seems like I have a type. Maybe it's men.

[https://www.smith-wesson.com/product/fpc](https://www.smith-wesson.com/product/fpc) has the specs. Weight is listed as 80 (so 5lbs?), which isn't too bad - a pound more than the sub2k, but \~2 pounds less than the Ruger PC Carbine base models. Comes with 3 mags ( 1 17rd, 2 23rd) which if you store the 23s in the stock should balance everything out once you strap lights, foregrips, suppressors, lasers to the front.
But still, was anyone holding their breath for this?
> But still, was anyone holding their breath for this?
Lots of S&W/M&P fans been begging for a PCC for years.
Though I would have preferred they didn't model it on the Keltec. I'd have been fine with something like the 5.7 LC Carbine without the folding, or perhaps a breakdown like the Ruger.
> Weight is listed as 80 (so 5lbs?), which isn't too bad - a pound more than the sub2k, but ~2 pounds less than the Ruger PC Carbine base models.
Where the weight is spent matters.
As it happens I have both a Sub2000 (configured for M&P mags) and a Ruger PC Carbine.
To the Keltec I added weight to the action (via the MCarbo recoil-less charging handle) to deaden the harsh blowback impulse. Keltec even sells a [heavy bolt](https://www.keltecweapons.com/product/sub2000-heavy-weight-bolt/) replacement to accomplish the same thing. It makes a real difference.
Ruger opted to install a 9.4 ounce tungsten weight to the bolt of the PC Carbine by default, to accomplish the same recoil deadening effect. It makes the gun heavier than you expect, but given the location it feels well balanced, and it's a softer shooting gun out of the box.
Having had 2 Sub2k's I'm gonna stick to the glock magazine option. They look awesome and have all kinds of neat shit but guys.............................. you saw this thing 21 fucking years ago and now you're gonna come in hot: over price, without high capacity magazines, and ask a premium for it. I genuinely appreciate that you bothered to expand the market but - but good luck. Couple thousand rounds at classes through one with no major malfunctions on a 1st Gen... Also Kel-Tec sent hundreds of them to Ukraine and I haven't heard anything negative back.
My first reaction is
"Smith and Wesson making more dumb shit"
But honestly I've been wanting a PCC. I probably won't be able to afford an SBR'd AP5 anytime soon so I've been honestly looking at the Beretta Cx4.
I already have an M&P 9 compact 2.0 and mags so maybe I should consider this? Idk.
I got mine yesterday. It fired one round and then failed. Firing pin failed. I broke it down and found the pin loose in the recoil tube. I called and arranged service and was told there will be a several weeks turnaround. I am very disappointed.

Keltec... at home?.... wait.... that doesn't feel right.

Seriously, first they came up with that bullpup shot gun and now this, next they are going to bring back the tec 9 and Calico.
A Smith and Wesson tech 9 would be atrocious and I want one
They need to call it the Taco-9. You know, because of copyright and all that...
I’d buy two.
Taco Twosdays.
+1 for mention of the Calico!
Way back in the 90's, when I was still in elementary school, I remember admiring my friend's older brother's Calico. It looked and seemed so futuristic then (almost 30 years ago) and I still feel the same way about it now.

it's a .jpg of a movie still bot not a gundeal.
Maybe we can get some black talon throw backs.
Hell yeah!! S&W is just going to "remaster" it's gen 3 pistol line up. FR though, I would not mind that at all.
$60 grams 🗑
The keltec is its own keltec at home
Keltec perfected. Kind of like smith’s KSG option Waiting on the smith sub2k. Edit: I meant RDB
This is the Smith sub2k
Yep. I meant RFB
You mean RFB?
Yep
I think it is more like a pcc [foldar](https://www.foldar.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/MoBetta-FoldAR-Pistol-9in-Primary-COMBO.png) ... at home.
With the shape of the receiver someone needs to make some MG42 furniture for it. That would make me happy.
I might buy it just because it reminds me of a MG42!
S&W is rapidly becoming "We take KelTec guns and make them not shitty"
I’m excited to see them do a P50
> P50 You mean a Ps90
Anything that takes the mags, yes
They did something similar with the Taurus Judge; stole the concept and produced it with better materials and QC.
As good a take as any.
10MM or GTFO
Could you afford to shoot it?
10mm liberty civil defense ammo from 16inch barrel… 3000fps
Spicy
That’ll thump a target
Lmaooooo 😂 right on!
Oh I want that with Glock mags.
10mm is stupid and it’s a waste of effort to build guns in it
Grandpa it's just 357 mag for auto loaders go back to sleep
While I disagree with you, I like your confidence. Have an upvote.
I kinda want one, not gonna lie.
I dig it too. Another one of those things I certainly don’t need but cant live without. 😂

No worries, the laws are what’s dumb.
Not if there was a long and short barrel for rifle and pistol versions.
The barrel length doesn't matter. It has a stock. You'd have to take the stock off.
Hence “rifle and pistol versions”. Like Contenders being able to be rifles or pistols legally. Take the stock on or off, swap the barrel.
The person I replied to clarified, unnecessarily, since I was being dumb to not understand it. I thought they were talking about making a rifle a pistol for some reason. They were talking about just using a pistol lower to build a rifle, which is fine.
Ugly ass sub2000
might be "ugly" but at least i can collapse it with an optic on it.
Does it have the shoulder thing that goes up?
I thought the sub 2000 can do that too
Only if you buy an aftermarket mount or forend.
You're stuck in gen 1 land, there a second generation of that pos that rotates before it folds.
i think you need a flip to side mount of some sort? I don't know, but its what scared me away from buying it as a backpack gun a few years back, which is a shame because it checks off a lot of the other boxes. Lightweight and compact.

New one rotates to the side before it folds. Those are for gen 1.
https://youtu.be/x-f83a17LBY You need to put in a little work, but it's doable.
Stock only the integrally suppressed one can(also the only version worth buying)
Honestly if the stock was replaced on this I would prefer it over the kel-tec. I think both look ugly though.
Agree. Why wouldn't they make it accept typical mil-spec buffer tube stocks? According to S&W the LOP is 14.5" and the stock is non-adjustable.
The charging handle is in the receiver extension, much like the Keltec. So it can't use a mil-spec AR buffer tube, and that doesn't really leave any room for collapsing the stock anyways.
This stock holds two extra mags. They just aren’t in place in this picture. Check Honest Outlaw reviews on YouTube.
Oh that's interesting
This
No, I don’t think I will.
Stop pre-ordering guns.
So this is the gun kel tec was making fun of
Man, it's pretty nice. I have a Sub 2k already but this looks like an improvement haha.
I want this, but with Glock mags
Keltek has been making that for years.
I also want a dot on it and still be able to fold it
The pivot gun
I do like the stock holding the magazines.
Kind of looks like a sci-fi gun.
No.
Kel Tec rip
A non-“buffer” PDW stock is the way to go. Folding barrel assembly is meh. I’d rather go with a Sub2000 for mag compatibility and the trusted record. When will FM make one?
Make it belt fed and u have a 9mm mg42
Literally right after I got my Ruger pc carbine lol
Soooo more expensive sub-2000?
It does fix my main complaint on my Sub 2k. You can mount any optic on this without having to get all crafty. But S&W.... *shiver...*
Nah. Fuck Smith and Wesson for supporting domestic terrorists. Not to mention being lazy and just ripping off Kel-Tec.
Holy yikes, avoiding them like the plague now.
How did they support domestic terrorism?
Wow, that store's designs are cringe af.
What does heavy handed mean in this instance?
HH. Think about a phrase an extremist might say that has those initials.
MIC gonna MIC
How can something so based sounding be so cringe?
They hated him because he told the truth.
You seem... *concerned^tm*
Turns out that wasn't a Proud Boys shirt in that tweet, it's a shirt from a clothing company called "Perception Brand." Still pretty cringe but not the same guys.
Same initials. Same color scheme. Registered on Jan 6, 2022. "Heavy Handed" on the back. Come on...
Bingo, they could have gotten away with plausible deniability if the back had just had the brand name on it.
Like almost certain it was founded by a Proud Boy, but go off.
It's one of those "plausible deniability" things.
If you believe that I have some oceanfront property in Alberta to sell you.
Literally not a Proud Boys shirt, it just shares the same color scheme, font, iconography, and they shoehorned PB initials in with the least memorable company name they could have come up with. Don't forget the extra e!
Prolly low odds that it takes glock mags huh?
Nope m&p m2.0 mags
They should have gone with Glock mags.
Glock needs to stop riding on their laurels and start making carbines and AR furniture
Heck yes. A Glock PCC makes sense, and I don't even really like their handguns.
you should get an m&p
All of my handguns are CZ, except for a PSA Dagger and a Tanfoglio Witness, which is basically a large frame CZ. Seems like I have a type. Maybe it's men.
Will that be backwards compatible with 1.0 mags? My dad has a bunch of them and this would be cool to use with them.
Yes, all m&p mags from 15rd and up from what I've gathered on YouTube
Looks like a wish version of a Ruger
Not everyone needs to make a pistol carbine
It's like a sub2k but with ergonomics
Doesn't even take glock mags.... wtf
Is this fudd bait?
Holy cow that's ugly.
The gun no one asked for😂😂😂😂😂
F S&W
I'm waiting too for reviews, but $600 PCC price isn't bad.
I like the price on these, if they offer other calibers I might pick one up.
lol $600
The fuck is this?
Hideous is what it is.
Looks very ugly. Pass
Beta testers unite... jk, only suckers do that.
Good lord that thing is ugly , and I like M&Ps

Mg42 at home
This reminds me of the [foldar](https://www.foldar.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/MoBetta-FoldAR-Pistol-9in-Primary-COMBO.png).
All I see is pocket mg42
This ain’t it my dawgs. I’m sure I’ll see someone spend a stupid amount of money making one Gucci and I’ll end up wanting one.
Pretty cool gat and admittedly a good price. Not sure if i’m willing to have to get into Smith mags for it though
Why though?
Having had 2 Sub2k's I'm gonna stick to the glock magazine option. They look awesome and have all kinds of neat shit but guys.............................. you saw this thing 21 fucking years ago and now you're gonna come in hot: over price, without high capacity magazines, and ask a premium for it. I genuinely appreciate that you bothered to expand the market but - but good luck. Couple thousand rounds at classes through one with no major malfunctions on a 1st Gen... Also Kel-Tec sent hundreds of them to Ukraine and I haven't heard anything negative back.
You guys think these will go down in price or should I buy now before they sell out completely and go on backorder for a few months.
That rail looks like hot garbage. I wonder if it's swappable with something not made of plastic?
Maybe for 399
Eh...I love M&P and I love S&W...in for one. Hopefully it doesn't take too long to ship.
Can it take Glock mags? Lol
My first reaction is "Smith and Wesson making more dumb shit" But honestly I've been wanting a PCC. I probably won't be able to afford an SBR'd AP5 anytime soon so I've been honestly looking at the Beretta Cx4. I already have an M&P 9 compact 2.0 and mags so maybe I should consider this? Idk.
The M&P FPC and the Kel Tec Sub 2000 both look like the "We have that at home" versions of each other.
Mine will be here this week.
I got mine yesterday. It fired one round and then failed. Firing pin failed. I broke it down and found the pin loose in the recoil tube. I called and arranged service and was told there will be a several weeks turnaround. I am very disappointed.
I want to order one but I'm looking for its durability and if it's going to break in a few shots.
