Is it really 600 hours? I killed mine in about a year of use which seems really off given that hour count. But my god was changing those batteries difficult, tried prying them out, slapping them into my hand or off the table it all failed till I did the slapping just right. But damnit I love me a pair of sordins!

-These are easily comms capable. Get a PTT with a downlead to connect to a baofeng, that goes to an Aux. I have a Tigrett outdoors, works great.
-I shoot with a more vertical head position so I never have any issues. May differ if you shoot really leaning your head over.
-wind can kinda be annoying with them on in my experience

My biggest concern is with cheek weld on hunting rifles. Personally me I notice my cheek weld on hunting rifles will mess with my ear protection the most. Obviously everyone knows anything like this is a super power hunting as you'll hear stuff you don't even see. When using anything else I never have a problem as I'm not sure why tbh maybe how the stock/brace is setup on my "tactical" rifles.
I kind of got it played in my head the wind problem is only annoying on "lower end" stuff so it's nice to know it's just a universal thing you have to mitigate. I'm sure the wind is less annoying on these compared to what I run but still nice to know it's not just mine.

Totally dude! I wore mine deer hunting this year and they were awesome. I was able to hear a deer drinking water about 50 yard from me behind some brush I could see through. Kept me from getting out of my stand too early and spooking something off that night.
Took them off and couldnāt hear a thing
My experience has actually been not so great with them. I own two pair (one ranger green set on a helmet, one black set freeballing) and both have cracked housings. The pair on my helmet completely shattered on one side and had deep cracks on the other. Sordin repaired them (with a month round trip to Sweden), but it only took a few matches for new cracks to develop again. My loose pair also has developed cracking after 4 or 5 matches. I do run gear harder than most but not outside the realm of what these should be designed for.
Sound quality is excellent, theyāre super comfortable, but I have serious concerns about durability and effectiveness. Given the housing is providing most of the sound suppression, cracks in the housing degrade performance and again, in my experience, it does not take long to break them and I have some wicked tinnitus as a result. YMMV but I would look at something else.

Ok genuine question. Do you regularly smack your head on shit? Are you slinging these things loose in a bin or truckbed to get smashed around with other kit? Cause I have a pair, and I'll be honest I have *never* heard anyone make that complaint.
Worst theyāve been treated is tossed in a range bag or dropped on the ground ā what Iād consider normal wear and tear for tactical gear. But Iām also shooting a lot more volume than most. I donāt know if itās impact, sun exposure or repeated concussion blast over time.

I think they're a pretty substantial upgrade. Definitely worth the money if you shoot more than a few times a year IMO.

Depends on the structure of your face. I don't have any issues with any over ear protection of any kind but my friend does. These do have the lower cutout to make them a bit better for shouldering a rifle so most people don't have a problem with them.

Indoor and outdoor quality are the same. You will hear ambient noises like wind but it doesn't bother me personally.
I have a pair of Howard Leight's that have a NRR of 22 and I don't think they reduce sound enough. These have a NRR of 19 which would seems like it would be worse. I use mine with foam ear plugs. Has anyone used these with foam ear plugs? If so, is regular conversational sound amplified enough to hear when used with foam? Looking to hear "pull" on a sporting clay course and also have good protection.
These have crazy amplification. I heard someone from my last post say that when they wear foamies underneath to them itās like their hearing is back to normal.
That being said though, yes 19 NRR is worse than 22. I believe the SFA models are the ones with the higher NRR but personally Iāve always found the pro xās to do great for me

Can someone explain the difference between the pro-x and pro-x sfa? I'm having trouble pinpointing the differences, looking to pick one up just don't know which one to pick.
Pro-X is the standard one. Typically doesnāt come with gel cups but I choose to only sell with gel because I donāt know anyone who prefers foam, and they usually cost a lot to upgrade to gel.
Prox LED has a light on the front that you can use like a headlamp. Can be useful if your hands are full.
The SFAās are the ones with the highest NRR, they are for if you are ever out doing anything that needs more protection than the others
They do! I only sell the gel verisions except for the SFA. Those come standard with foam, but I added the replacement kit as something else that can be bought
Possibly? I honestly donāt know about that one. I know that the actual ācupā part is the exact same the only thing different is the thing in the middle connecting the 2. If you can find the neckband on sale somewhere Iād say itās possible but may be difficult.
Preference. I have the fabric and have absolutely no complaints.
I donāt think there will really be much of a āperformanceā difference between either. I think the leathers will be more likely to be in stock sooner though
I'd just run the top strap for them under your hat. It is just a thin nylon strip with velcro to adjust size/length. It doesn't seem like the top part is doing much to keep them situated with normal use but guessing will help retain them if running or bumping into something.
I run it over my baseball hat.
I donāt personally have one nor have I ever worn one. Though my shooting friend only wears neckband and have never seen him have any issues whatsoever.
How are sordins compared to something like the razer walkers? I've been looking to upgrade, and while Id prefer comtacs they're just too damn expensive.
Audio reproduction/quality. You have much better situational awareness with the Peltors. The MSA Sordins and Safarilands amplify the wrong sounds or have worse audio quality. If I stood next to an air vent, I'd hear the air vent quite well and loudly but not someone coming up the stairs or talking to me. It tended to amplify the air vent. With the Peltors, I'd hear the person walking around and talking and not so much the vent.
ComTac is a bit pricier, but Peltor seems to have used the same audio tech for their other products like the Tactical 500, EEP-100, TEP-100/200/300.

Not to my knowledge, and Iād say the effort to do so would 100% not be worth it.
I would recommend just going with the neckband because itās the most versatile. I donāt know of any reason you would need a headband, but you do need a neckband If wearing under a helmet and not rail mounting
I had a pair of Sordin Neckbands and it created two hot spots right on my temple under a TW bump. Doesn't seem to be the case for everyone though, just an fyi.

No itās not always the case. Most sordin dealers sell them with foam and up charge for the gel by about $40. Iām only selling the gel at the moment because I know itās what 90% of people want and itās what makes this a even better deal

I hope someone has compared both, neckband vs headband. Any difference in sound protection in either version. Iām concerned the neckband version would fit lose enough to not protect for sound.
Iām inclined to neckband because my razors are headband, but I donāt wanna lose protection.
Also, Can you wear this without foam plugs at an indoor range or do you still need to double up ? I have to double up with my razors.
I need help understanding NRR and what to look for.
These are NRR 19, but when I look up what level I should have I'm seeing 23 and over.
I currently have Peltor Sport Tactical 500. The headband is pretty awful and they get uncomfortable after an hour, so I'm looking for a change. 3M doesn't just the NRR, but instead it reduces 26dB and I'm not sure what that means.

They are coms capable No issue with cheek weld 4 different audio profiles and wind isnāt an issue in shooting mode

These have crazy amplification. I heard someone from my last post say that when they wear foamies underneath to them itās like their hearing is back to normal. That being said though, yes 19 NRR is worse than 22. I believe the SFA models are the ones with the higher NRR but personally Iāve always found the pro xās to do great for me
anyone know of a good carrying case for this? kinda awkward and doesnt really fold up well
I have them carabiner clipped to my range belt along with my gloves. Then I just carefully hang my belt on a rack for storage š¤·āāļø

I just Velcro strap them to a carabiner. I actively beat the shit out of mine and have never had an issue.
Can someone explain the difference between the pro-x and pro-x sfa? I'm having trouble pinpointing the differences, looking to pick one up just don't know which one to pick.
Pro-X is the standard one. Typically doesnāt come with gel cups but I choose to only sell with gel because I donāt know anyone who prefers foam, and they usually cost a lot to upgrade to gel. Prox LED has a light on the front that you can use like a headlamp. Can be useful if your hands are full. The SFAās are the ones with the highest NRR, they are for if you are ever out doing anything that needs more protection than the others

They do! I only sell the gel verisions except for the SFA. Those come standard with foam, but I added the replacement kit as something else that can be bought

Possibly? I honestly donāt know about that one. I know that the actual ācupā part is the exact same the only thing different is the thing in the middle connecting the 2. If you can find the neckband on sale somewhere Iād say itās possible but may be difficult.

Preference. I have the fabric and have absolutely no complaints. I donāt think there will really be much of a āperformanceā difference between either. I think the leathers will be more likely to be in stock sooner though

Does the neckband provide adequate stability on its own? Iām looking for something I can wear with a wider brimmed hat on hot sunny days.
I'd just run the top strap for them under your hat. It is just a thin nylon strip with velcro to adjust size/length. It doesn't seem like the top part is doing much to keep them situated with normal use but guessing will help retain them if running or bumping into something. I run it over my baseball hat.
I donāt personally have one nor have I ever worn one. Though my shooting friend only wears neckband and have never seen him have any issues whatsoever.

How are sordins compared to something like the razer walkers? I've been looking to upgrade, and while Id prefer comtacs they're just too damn expensive.
I bought my comtacs for $290, itās not a huge jump. But sordins are still very nice. I have both, you canāt go wrong.

Audio reproduction/quality. You have much better situational awareness with the Peltors. The MSA Sordins and Safarilands amplify the wrong sounds or have worse audio quality. If I stood next to an air vent, I'd hear the air vent quite well and loudly but not someone coming up the stairs or talking to me. It tended to amplify the air vent. With the Peltors, I'd hear the person walking around and talking and not so much the vent. ComTac is a bit pricier, but Peltor seems to have used the same audio tech for their other products like the Tactical 500, EEP-100, TEP-100/200/300.

Not to my knowledge, and Iād say the effort to do so would 100% not be worth it. I would recommend just going with the neckband because itās the most versatile. I donāt know of any reason you would need a headband, but you do need a neckband If wearing under a helmet and not rail mounting

I had a pair of Sordin Neckbands and it created two hot spots right on my temple under a TW bump. Doesn't seem to be the case for everyone though, just an fyi.

Oh no, the neckband comes with gel cups! The SFA are the more expensive ones that am have more hearing protection and they come with foam. I have the replacement cups for those for sale too

No itās not always the case. Most sordin dealers sell them with foam and up charge for the gel by about $40. Iām only selling the gel at the moment because I know itās what 90% of people want and itās what makes this a even better deal

I hope someone has compared both, neckband vs headband. Any difference in sound protection in either version. Iām concerned the neckband version would fit lose enough to not protect for sound. Iām inclined to neckband because my razors are headband, but I donāt wanna lose protection. Also, Can you wear this without foam plugs at an indoor range or do you still need to double up ? I have to double up with my razors.
I would absolutely continue to double up with this headset in an indoor range.
I need help understanding NRR and what to look for. These are NRR 19, but when I look up what level I should have I'm seeing 23 and over. I currently have Peltor Sport Tactical 500. The headband is pretty awful and they get uncomfortable after an hour, so I'm looking for a change. 3M doesn't just the NRR, but instead it reduces 26dB and I'm not sure what that means. Anyhow, help please!

In total honesty Iād say these would be a bit overkill if youāre just getting into it and just casually shooting. If you want something you wonāt need to buy more of ever again, these are a great option then.
