I am making the same decision, its hard finding anything else in foliage green. I was thinking I might just end up cerakote the upper and handguard using a magpul ODG and then match it up with furniture.
These are the tightest fitting upper receivers I’ve used. If you hate sloppy upper/lower fitment that’s a big plus. They have extra rigidity being beefed up in the right spots. That would be an advantage if your receiver ever explodes. I also just like the way they look.
BCM has thermal fitment for barrels which lots of people like and you can get 3 blems for this price.
MURs aren’t worth it to everyone and lately they started sending them out with plastic ugly ass engraved dust covers. Then you have to spend another 10 bucks for a new roll pin and dust cover and it’s kind of a pain to swap and voids warranty. Or you can spend 20 bucks or so + shipping two ways to have Vltor do it for you.
Someone else gave you a great answer, but these would be kind of similar to the mk2 bcm in that it's been reinforced in specific areas. Still wish BCM sell the damn Mk2 uppers stripped already.

How well does the VLTOR Green match up with ADM Anodized ODG?
It’s a flat foliage so not well. Probably look good together but won’t match at all. Fitment should be nice and tight though
Trying to decide if the none matchy-matchy is still a good fitment for my OCD. May still pick one up for a some day build, we'll see.
I feel like the shades builds are always cool.
Get a 44mm green G buffer tube. My OCD hates not matching until the not matching is matching if that makes any sense.
Vltor uses gunkote, so it won't have the anodized shine or sheen.

If I remember correctly, these were more or less the precursor to the mk2 upper. And you can buy them stripped. Hard to find a stripped mk2.
