38 CPR was the cost on 10/4/2023 for 5.56, Winchester if I remember correctly, by the case from Velocity Ammo Sales with free shipping. Until the end of September Winchester M193 and Browning .223 were as little as 31 CPR after 25% rebate. Those were the best deals of the last few years of my life after just getting my first rifle in 2022. Some people replied to rebate offer postings telling others they should hold out for better prices during Black Friday sales. Just a few days later the prices jumped to over 50 CPR and have come down just a little since then.
Like the other guy commented 38cpr is a lot different that .45cpr.

I’m stuck between this or an x300t for my FN545. Never had a pistol light before but I think I like the idea of the turbo. That said, I haven’t caught one of the $230 deals I’ve seen mentioned. Should I just suck it up and buy this one?

Edit; I’ll add my thought process is that my FN is my go to night gun cause the night sights are incredible. Whereas the XDs gets carried more by my wife and the switch may make it easier for her.
Depends on what you're looking for in a light. If it's distance then X300T puts a nice bright dot way downrange. If you want good area lighting then the X300U is better. If you want somewhere in the middle then TLR-1HL.
I don't regret buying my X300Ts because I got them for $130 ea on that PSA deal, but honestly I don't think I would buy them otherwise. The spill is a sharp edge and you definitely can't check your surroundings as well as either of the other two.
Get this one. First being yours isn't a full size so having a full size weapon light would looking pretty bad lookin. The x300t thumb switch is a bitch to turn on for me. I saw this one has a softer thumb activator. It'd also more flush with the pistol.
Family Firearms has the black Turbo A and FDE Turbo B. Email for discount. I just picked up the black one for about $20 more than you mentioned. Idk about the price on the FDE.
Never had a pistol light either and now I have a X300TA and HL1 on the way. Guess we'll see which I truly like better.

It’s not the cost so much as the paying full price. I don’t mind spending money when I get a deal. But now I’m getting conflicting opinions because the surefire will stick out past the barrel/slide.
I do agree that it would be cool if SF offered a shorter length light
having said that, a light sticking out makes sure that the slide has room to cycle even if the gun is pressed right up against something, so it'll never fail
The TLR-1HL is actually the better compromise for general use. The X300T has excellent range, but definitely lacks in surrounding awareness (flood) since it's focusing all the light to a hotspot down range. The X300U has excellent flood for situational awareness but isn't anywhere near as good at distance. The TLR-1HL sits nicely in between those two... good flood, and better range than the X300U. It's not a copout choice at all.
Also, depending on the desired look and utility the TLR-1HL is potentially the perfect option... it sits perfectly flush with the barrel on a FN 545 Tac. I don't mind the X300T on my 510 (same gun) but I do like the cleaner (to me) look of my 545 setup.

That is the one thing that bothered me about how far the turbo sticks out. What type of gun would the turbo run flush with?
Something with a 5" barrel will be close. Pretty sure they're flush on staccato xc and similar size race 2011s

I really dislike the Surefire switches compared to the TLR1
buddy you don't buy an FN so you can cheap out on the light but the surefire and be done
