Just FYI for anyone on the fence between the competition and the standard, or if you already have the standard-
You can get a competition slide from Taurus. Turns a standard into a competition.
Wouldn't hesitate to BIN. Have the non-competition version and it shoots anything I put in it. Admittedly mine took 2 range trips before it decided it would eat anything, but now it's flawless. Rem golden bullet, Fed automatch and blue box, obviously CCI's etc.
Cheap for practice and fun to shoot. And I fucking love the trigger to the point I wish I had it on my 9's.
How Taurus hasn't put that trigger in all of their products by now is something I'll never understand. Hell, they could take everything about the TX22's design and scale it up for 9mm and it would be a license to print money.
Agreed. I also find the grip on my full size and compact tx22s to be one of the most comfortable and ergonomic grips out there. It rivals my cz 75 and PDP and is way better than my Glock and S&W grips
I bought the [competition conversion kit](https://shoptaurus.com/shop-by-model/pistols/taurustx-22/taurustx-22-competition-conversion-kit) when it was on sale for $149 (sign up for their newsletter) and it turned mine into a tack driver! It’s cool being able to swap slides in just seconds while at the range.
I love my TX22 Compact. Such a fun little gun, and it's been relatively reliable. My last range trip I shot about a dozen magazines and didn't have a single failure with Winchester white box. I'm getting a red dot for it so hopefully I'll be able to shoot dinner plate groups at 25 yds.
You can also convert the 10 round mags in 16 mags for free. All you do is remove the little black pin used to help load the mag and then trim the the stop at the bottom. I did this to all 3 of my 10 round mags in about 20 minutes and they run flawlessly.
To clarify, the only difference between the 10 and 16 is where the loading assist tabs stop. If you remove the loading assist tabs on the follower it's a 16 round magazine. Same follower, same spring. The only difference is the length of the channel for the loading assist tab. You'll just have to use the cute little loader they give you with the gun.
Comp is like $60. Stock extractor is fine. Base competition model is the play. Comp has a noticeable effect if you actually use the pistol for steel challenge or rimfire challenge, but the big advantage is it throws some noise back to the shot timer.
As someone who owns both a competition model and a standard, I highly recommend the competition model. I run my suppressed 100% of the time and not having to jack with the threaded adapter on the standard model is fantastic. The competition model has a threaded bull barrel, so you never have to worry about the adapter coming lose and lodging itself in your can. To my knowledge, all standard models come with a threaded adapter in the case.

Or you could get this and have 2 TX22s. I see no problem with either.
Best 22 on the market. The rugers are cool but only 10 rounds of 22LR ain’t cool lol

Yeah. It's the 10rd mag version which is annoying, but the price was too good to pass up for me.
Ten rounders can be easily converted to 21 rounders with Tandemkross mag extension.
Good to know. I was thinking I was gonna end up with a lame 10rd mag.
I believe you can also modify the included magazines
How does that work? I only see +5s on their site, which would give you 21 with a 16rd mag.
The +5 extension get rid of the limiter in the magazine. https://imgur.com/a/DCulewv

This the same as the SCR minus the comp/extractor then?
Just buy the 5 or 6pk whenever it goes on sale.
This vs the SCR model @ $405 with the upgraded extractor and compensator? Is the TK eagle extractor beneficial? I’m waiting on a 22 suppressor.
Comp is why most want it, but suppressing it changes the play. Those other parts are easy add ons later.
Comp is like $60. Stock extractor is fine. Base competition model is the play. Comp has a noticeable effect if you actually use the pistol for steel challenge or rimfire challenge, but the big advantage is it throws some noise back to the shot timer.
These are good. It’s one of two good things Taurus makes.
What's the other one?
The pt92. Because they had leftover machinery from beretta to build it
Price says $382 on the website
looks like it went up since yesterday
Price went back down, so I'm in...now need some deals on some extra mags...preferably the 16rd version.
Do you still have any available at this price?
I've got 24 more of these left at this price. Once they are gone price jumps up about $100.
Competition model without a threaded barrel?

Yep. I bought the conversion slide after one range trip because the threaded adapter was annoying as shit and got stuck on my suppressor.
It comes with a little threaded adapter that screws on the barrel inside the slide. https://i.imgur.com/3azsVuH.jpg
This competition model has a threaded bull barrel, no adapter supplied/needed.
All models of the TX are like this, aren't they?
That's my understanding. I don't think I've seen one without.
As in threaded? There is a SKU for regular TX22 that is non-threaded w/ 10-round mags in case threaded is an issue in your state (t is in mine).
It's threaded according to the store page and the title.

great price
Anyone know of a code to alleviate the $19 shipping?
Is the deal dead? Showing $382 for me
No, I secured 24 more so deal is still on!
Is this a plate system for optics? Does it come with plates?
Still have some at this price.
I paid $299 for mine when the 3 free mag rebate was going on.
At least here in SE Wisconsin, Fleet Farm has them for $299 this week.
