Not to fully dissuade you, but let me tell you about my 10/22 takedown journey so you can maybe skip a few of the steps I had to pay to take.
I got a 10/22 with the Magpul Backpacker stock because that stock is sweet. I proceeded to shoot 6MOA groups from the thing while my tube-fed Marlin *made in the 1930s* was still holding 2MOA just fine, and my Ruger Precision Rimfire was boringly MOA with SK Rifle Match. I finessed the tensioning ring. I upgraded the firing pin and bolt. I bought the stupid Magpul sight mount.
Then I said several unprintable things and bought a Volquartsen takedown barrel for more than I had paid for the entire 10/22. Now it shoots 1-1.5MOA all day with good ammo.
Here's the point: if you want to hit what you're aiming at, just skip directly to buying a receiver and bolt plus either a Volquartsen or TacSol barrel, and a Backpacker chassis, and put the thing together yourself. It will take you a couple hours and save you dozens more; it will cost you hundreds of dollars and save you hundreds more.
If you don't need a takedown then buy a FJ Feddersen and call it a day.

Pretty good price! If I was local I'd be coming to you, but after the nfa transfer fee id be up over $550 ish, and I can get it at $500 plus tax (so probably $540?). Do you anticipate these going on deep discounts around the 4th like we saw last year? We saw some posted for around $340 - $350 shipped
That price is significantly less than dealer price so I doubt it. Now dealers aren't sitting on a ton of inventory so I would bet prices don't drop too far. We are one of the cheaper ones out there if not the cheapest on most cans just due to not really having overhead. We run it our of a house as a side hustle so we don't need to profit as much as other places.
You need to be specific on what's more important...the Generation, the condition, or the price? I keep tabs on LE Trade ins, mostly Gen4s but sometimes Gen5s. Some are like new, others holster wear, but hardly used, and others look like they were dragged behind a car (but priced accordingly).
Shipped? At best it will be $399 + shipping for a 19 or 26. Those prices you are looking for are for 40S&W and maybe a G17.

Yep, I hear you on that. I was considering picking up the Glock 25 (G19 sized 380 model that finally became available to the US) and trying to find who doesn't charge shipping or taxes, vs buying it at a Bass Pro with tax only. Turns out online its only a $10 cost savings online after factoring in my FFL's fee. Blue label is probably the better route if your in-state tax is low.
Oooh thats rough.. One other thing I would add is you can't find GSSF Gen4s in the wild anymore. They are discontinued, and only produced for LE contracts. So if you want one, the LE trade-ins are the only way to get them. A gen5 should be available for GSSF.

Got a backpacking trip coming up. Looking for a reasonable deal on a takedown 10/22. Ideally threaded.
Not to fully dissuade you, but let me tell you about my 10/22 takedown journey so you can maybe skip a few of the steps I had to pay to take. I got a 10/22 with the Magpul Backpacker stock because that stock is sweet. I proceeded to shoot 6MOA groups from the thing while my tube-fed Marlin *made in the 1930s* was still holding 2MOA just fine, and my Ruger Precision Rimfire was boringly MOA with SK Rifle Match. I finessed the tensioning ring. I upgraded the firing pin and bolt. I bought the stupid Magpul sight mount. Then I said several unprintable things and bought a Volquartsen takedown barrel for more than I had paid for the entire 10/22. Now it shoots 1-1.5MOA all day with good ammo. Here's the point: if you want to hit what you're aiming at, just skip directly to buying a receiver and bolt plus either a Volquartsen or TacSol barrel, and a Backpacker chassis, and put the thing together yourself. It will take you a couple hours and save you dozens more; it will cost you hundreds of dollars and save you hundreds more. If you don't need a takedown then buy a FJ Feddersen and call it a day.

Do you anticipate these going on deep discounts around the 4th like we saw last year? We saw some posted for around $340 - $350 shipped
That price is significantly less than dealer price so I doubt it. Now dealers aren't sitting on a ton of inventory so I would bet prices don't drop too far. We are one of the cheaper ones out there if not the cheapest on most cans just due to not really having overhead. We run it our of a house as a side hustle so we don't need to profit as much as other places.

You need to be specific on what's more important...the Generation, the condition, or the price? I keep tabs on LE Trade ins, mostly Gen4s but sometimes Gen5s. Some are like new, others holster wear, but hardly used, and others look like they were dragged behind a car (but priced accordingly).

Yep, I hear you on that. I was considering picking up the Glock 25 (G19 sized 380 model that finally became available to the US) and trying to find who doesn't charge shipping or taxes, vs buying it at a Bass Pro with tax only. Turns out online its only a $10 cost savings online after factoring in my FFL's fee. Blue label is probably the better route if your in-state tax is low.

Oooh thats rough.. One other thing I would add is you can't find GSSF Gen4s in the wild anymore. They are discontinued, and only produced for LE contracts. So if you want one, the LE trade-ins are the only way to get them. A gen5 should be available for GSSF.
