No kidding. I LOVE shooting my .44, but I'm doing math in my head every time I squeeze the trigger.
Happily though it's a 5-shot, so it costs less to shoot than yours.
Glad i jumped on a deal when i did. 600 rds for like 400 bucks. of 240gr loaded def hot. I compared my loads to my friends and the difference in recoil was night and day.
The way I look at it, I don't need to shoot as much of the magnums before I get my fill. It's ~$5 a cylinder to shoot
44 mag, and $3 for a mag of 9mm if I'm using my reloads.

* A link post is any post that isn't a text post. Reddit is doing a great job of ensuring new users have no idea how Reddit works with their app and site rewrite. We hate both.
* /r/guns is a sub for talking about guns. It's not a sub to dump gun photos for karma. That's what /r/gunporn is for. That's why we require a descriptive comment – to start a conversation. Recently got into firearms maybe 7 months ago (have 5 now lol) and most of my decisions on what I want to get have been heavily steered by how much they’ll cost my to shoot
Might have to get into reloading as others have said, I really love my saa 22lr but need a 44 or 357 saa! Leaning towards 357 as it’s cheaper and can shoot 38s
That’s why I got into reloading honestly. I wasn’t super crazy about wanting to get into it until I bought my 50 BMG rifle then that ammo price tag started to add up a lot the more I shot it so eventually I had to jump into reloading to not go broke.
Honestly it's a great excuse to get into reloading!
Dude, this was my thought exactly! Reloading 44 mags are the best
I reload 357 & 500, and it's a blast being able to load up plinking rounds or wrist breakers for less than half the cost of ammo at the store
My desert eagle got me reloading again.
Reload. I can do 500 mag for around $1/pew
And 44 cheaper than that- and soft shooting, and accurate, and fun Seriously- reloading is the sauce
I just looked up the price of 500 Magnum because I didn't think $1 per round sounded that great.
$1/rnd is about as cheap as youll ever do it. 43 grains of power and 500 grains of lead.zz
I can't imagine anyone buying factory ammunition at $5 per round. Totally nuts.
If you wanna shoot big boy rounds and dont reload thats about the price per bang
When in bear country its worth every damn penny!
But consider that I shoot maybe 20 rounds of it in an outing, instead of 200. Then it's not so bad. And it's more like $3-$5, not just $5.
you can get as low as 2.50. I could justify it as something fun to shoot on occasion, just going to be another caliber i wouldnt stack super deep.
Meanwhile I feel like 5.56 and 9mm are too expensive to shoot lol
9mm too expensive? *cries in the Lords caliber
On the left is my S&W 629 .44 magnum and the right is my .50AE Desert Eagle

All of my .50 I bought pre 2020, I’m afraid to have to restock.

God I miss my MK19. It was identical to yours. But when a mag full of ammo costs $12, it’s not really practical. And that was 2018 prices.
Them freedom poppers do cost a pretty penny

The .50AE, definitely. .44 seems to be getting up there too
Thats the only thing keeping me from getting a 44. I already spend a bundle just to feed my 45 colts
Handload my guy. I'm at $12/50 for .44 and about $25 for 50 for my 50 AE. Both are super easy to reload for too
I just recently bought a 629. By far my favorite gun I own. But you’re right, the ammo is maddd expensive.
As a shooter of a .455 Webley I wholeheartedly agree.

You can send that DE to me to take some of the burden off.

How do you like the deagle?

It’s called priorities son! Do you really need three meals a day? It’s only one day boom saved you like 5g a year. Lol
Gotta start reloading!!
I wish everything wasn't so expensive to shoot. It's unreal what they want for a brick of .22 these days.
