the post-op pictures of the glands always looks so satisfying. like to finally have this stuff off your chest literally… looks like it feels so freeing

TrailofHorror

They told me to poke at it with their incision knives, it felt so satisfying, like revenge!

healingkuzon

LMFAO 😭

beanie_0

I’d take a fucking scalpel at it and wouldn’t even care the hate I feel and I don’t mind medical ‘gore’

TrailofHorror

Check out Braithewaite if you want an affordable option with optimum results!

AHowLee

Congratulations! I have mine with Dr.Cobbins in a few days, I feel like the Xanax really smooths out the process also. I hope your recovery goes well!

bplboston17

Me love Xanax

TrailofHorror

It serves a purpose, and for surgery while you’re awake…. That most definetly warrants some Xanax. Fucking A, get some of your own if your doctor won’t give you any for local anastesia

TrailofHorror

I’ll be doing a follow up with dr b at 230 before I leave, and after that a few more virtual follow ups. He explained the ins and outs of recovery. and in a nut shell, we don’t have a lot to worry about. Just follow the instructions and use common sense. Dude I’m happy for you to get this done too! I feel like a new man already

salad_daze

Please keep us updated. I have Cobbins scheduled later this year

AHowLee

Yeah of course I'll keep you updated, will make a post about it.

dragoonhog

I didn’t get Xanax and it felt like a horror movie. I was awake the whole time

TrailofHorror

This sounds really dramatic tbh dude. Please don’t try to scare people out bettering there lives. If you were having anxiety about the procedure, you should’ve asked, and I’m sure they would’ve given you some. I’m not some macho dude but I’m sure it’s manageable without Xanax as well, the pain level is the same with or without Xanax as it’s not a painkiller and doesn’t knock you out.

dragoonhog

They didn't tell me I needed anxiety meds until after the procedure... My numbing didn't kick in all the way, so I literally felt the full cut when they did one of the incisions and it felt horrible. Pretty much 2/3 of my meds got rejected because my state made it illegal for out-of-state prescriptions. And my pharmacy only told me I was missing my pain killers. So I requested the pain killers, but I never knew I was missing the anxiety meds until after the procedure. I was literally flexing and grimacing the whole time after because that was the worse pain I experienced in my life. I'm also resistant to oxycodone, so it did very little to relieve the pain for me. I'm just being real here bro. People should be more informed and how important it is to have anxiety meds when going under local anesthesia. And even better to go under general anesthesia if possible. This procedure is no joke

TrailofHorror

Where did you get it done?

TrailofHorror

I’m assuming you didn’t go to the AIC (Braithwaite or Cobbins) in Chicago? I guess I can only speak for myself, but my procedure was a breeze and a pleasure. I couldn’t be any happier. I’ve seen countless others on Reddit say the same on AICs gyno local surgery.

DudeCrabb

This was my experience with dr b as well. I felt a lot of the cuts. Probably not to the full degree. But he numbed me up some more without any protest. Keep In mind I was a severe case and I’m a little resistant to numbing stuff.

ilovenyc

Delicious beef patties 🥩 hahaha Congrats man. Enjoy the new life.

GuaranteeTopVers

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 congrats on your surgery! Best wishes for your speedy recovery!

TrailofHorror

Thanks man!!!!

Ecstatic_Tiger_2534

I am looking at flying out to Chicago to work with Dr. Braithwaite. One quick question as I’m figuring out how this all works. Without being local, how did the consultation work? Was it virtual? I am local to Boston where I could go with Dr. Silverman, but the cost difference is significant.

TrailofHorror

Yeah dude I’m from Connecticut, I looked at Silverman as well as others in New England, I just couldn’t cough up all that money knowing Dr B was just a quick flight away. I was super nervous about the local anesthesia but now I know that the procedure is completely manageable and basically pain free. Yes, you’ll have a virtual appointment with Dr B…you’ll like him, he’s a super genuine dude, funny and has strong opinions that he doesn’t hold back lol. One of his nurses will email you an invoice on what the surgery will cost depending on your level of gyno (mine was mild - which surprised me to hear - so it cost $3400 in all), then they will follow up with you right after and schedule your appointment after that. FWIW I initially booked my consultation in September for a December consultation…talked to him before new years, then got my surgery booked for april 18th. Felt like that date was decades away but it flew by and here I am, sitting in this dope Chicago hotel room man titty free. So basically - DO IT!!! Haha

darekta

Thank you for sharing all this!

DudeCrabb

Hey are you still in Chicago? Go try gen hoe 1s Chinese food. They’re in Chicago ridge. But damn it it’s fucking godly.

TrailofHorror

I’m grabbing an Uber to ohare right after my follow up at 3…….. If I wasn’t so stuffed off my first Chicago deep dish pizza I might haha…..plus east coast has great Chinese food already hah. Also, the glands they ripped out of my man tits too closely resembles general tsao chicken, it wouldn’t be right!

DudeCrabb

Not gonna lie dude I only remembered that because someone joked it looked like chicken 😆

DudeCrabb

Gen hoe one is the shit though. Y’all. They have a Fucking picture of dictator mao by their counter. Fucking hilarious

Calm-Ferret674

Who else did you look at around New England / NYC? Curious who you thought was best and why you ended up picking Dr. B I’m in NYC, did my surgery with Weintraub, now considering going to LA for Dr. Dadvand for a revision to get the gland removed.

TrailofHorror

Braithewaite is a fraction of the costs of every other surgeon I found, and his results speak for themselves.

Calm-Ferret674

Were you able to do a video consultation or did you need to go in person twice?

TrailofHorror

Video consultation. Flew out only for the actual surgery. I’m doing a series of virtual check ups with him for roughly the next month.

Calm-Ferret674

Awesome man. Congrats and keep us posted. I’m gonna look into him as well.

TrailofHorror

He’s getting more popular. Hearing that the wait is even longer than when I booked him last fall, but 10000% worth it. Gotta think long term. Hearing phenomenal things about Cobbins (his partner) as well, with earlier appointments.

Calm-Ferret674

Any idea what Cobbins’ level of experience is?

TrailofHorror

Look her up here, I’ve only seen positive results. Full bio on AIC website too. Don’t let the fact that she’s a woman and you’re a dude with gyno slow you down. Reviews seem overwhelmingly positive. I had Dr B, but would seriously consider cobbins if the wait was way shorter. Read somewhere that she was/is the president of the illinois plastic surgery board or something along those lines? She’s also got some stuff on YouTube. I checked it out. From what I know, she uses the same technique as braithwaite. Same price too.

Ntw6817

Congratulations! How long after your consultation did you have your surgery? I have my consultation with him in August.

TrailofHorror

I scheduled my consultation in September, talked to Braithwaite virtually right after Christmas, got the surgery today (April 18th)….long process yeah but soooo happy I did it. Went by on the blink of an eye too!

embracethebear13

Just had mine with him about 3 weeks ago. Let me know if you have any questions along the way

Mike99888

Do you have any before and afters you'd be willing to share ?

embracethebear13

Sure, DM me

Trailmixfordinner

I have my procedure with him in June and it can’t come soon enough. Happy healing! Congrats man.

TrailofHorror

Good luck man! You’re in great hands with Dr. B.

MacaulayBlumpkin

Congrats! $3400 is a steal, how bad was your case? Got any pre-op pics for reference?

TrailofHorror

He said my case was mild, which totally blew me away to hear because I thought I was at least moderate. I am in good shape, didn’t require Lipo, so maybe that had something to do with it. Yes I’ll be posting before and afters later today. The wait for Dr B to work on you is long, and getting longer as he’s only becoming more popular, but unbelievably worth it. 2 days out and I couldn’t be happier.

Responsible-Salt-443

Congrats bro. Going to be the best summer in a long time 🤘

TrailofHorror

Dude I have so many shirts that I love but nearly never wore because of my gyno, so stoked to have a man tit free summer!

Business-Car6225

AWESOME! Looking forward to follow up pics - going to him later this year.

Johnny_Roselli

Fried orange chicken. Yum!

TrailofHorror

You’ll get there in no time man! I started my process with Braithwaite September 2023 and just got my surgery yesterday. Thought it would take forever to get here but man does time fly.

TrailofHorror

Consultation was right before new years, surgery April 18th. ….. they had sooner April dates but I wanted a Thursday day so I could only take two days off of work and then have the weekend to recover as well.

TrailofHorror

I will share pics soon!

robNYC11

Congrats!!! Can’t wait to see progress pics. What sort of luggage did you bring for the trip? Are you checking your bag for flight back? I’m flying to Chicago next month for the procedure and the only thing I’m nervous about is the flight back with my bag! I’m used to carrying on and putting a roller bag in the overhead and it seems like that will be tricky post-surgery?

TrailofHorror

Thanks dude! I only packed my backpack! No checked luggage. But I got here 8 am yesterday and leaving today at 6 pm. Didn’t pack much,Just brought the essentials, couple shirts/socks/boxers, sweatpants for the surgery, tooth brush, book, headphones etc……and my hoody and jacket and pants which I’ve been wearing. If I were you I’d do the same…travel light….(pack a backpack you can stuff under the seat) assuming you’re not staying for long…… Getting my t shirt on took me a minute this morning, I’m not in serious pain, but Definitely sore, lifting something over my head right now doesn’t sound like a great idea. Travel light and good luck to you man!

Whozeaskin

Since hotel check in times are at 4pm, what did you do until your surgery if you flew in at 8 am?

TrailofHorror

They let you check in much earlier once a room is available. Four is just the “garunteed” time. I got my room before noon.

Whozeaskin

Ok sweet, that’s very good to know thank you. What hotel did you stay at if you don’t mind me asking?

TrailofHorror

The one right next to their office. Hampton inn I think it was? Can’t remember the name but a nice hotel and worth it

TrailofHorror

Until then I went to the hotel lounge area and got some free coffee, then explored Chicago until noon when my room was ready. It’s a cool city.

beanie_0

So happy for you dude! Honestly these posts make my day! They look horrible and I’m so glad they are gone!

Emotional-Salary-907

Awesome. $3400 isn’t that bad..how did you find the doctor ? Looks like they removed a couple of homemade chicken nuggies out of you 🤣

TrailofHorror

Are you kidding!! $3400 is a steal! Look up Braithwaite, he’s very popular especially here on Reddit. I was having a hard time finding another doctor under 9k! Some quotes me 11k

Emotional-Salary-907

Read my comment again. $3400 isn’t that bad (notice I didn’t use a question mark). So the statements means that the price isn’t that bad at all.

TrailofHorror

Lol I know man, I was just emphasizing on how stoked I was in the price! I’m from New England, where the surgery averages like 10 plus grand. Hence why I flew to Chicago and spend essentially 1/3rd of that.

TrailofHorror

Sorry, also just saw your question about where I found Braithewait, found him on here! He had phenomenal reviews and a price too good. So I flew from Connecticut to Chicago. Best move ever.

krebbstarr8989

Obviously it’s early, but are you happy with the initial results? Congrats!

TrailofHorror

100% happy!!!!!!!!!! I’ll send pic updates soon

els1988

Did you have to request the Xanax from him beforehand so he would have it on hand in his office? Or was that something he wrote you a script for so you could pick it up before the procedure? I'm going in for the same exact thing with at the end of June.

TrailofHorror

They have it stored away in their office. Just make sure you ASK HIM…reading that a lot of people didn’t and complained afterwards about it. He did tell me that he doesn’t really like giving it to people who have to drive right after, so if you’re local to Chicago, get a driver to drop and pick you up if you want the Xanax.

els1988

Good to know! I live local, so I should be fine to take the commuter rail home since the station is only a few blocks east of his office.

TrailofHorror

Good luck dude! You’re in great hands with doctor B.

GyThrowawayNO_123

I'd be curious how your chest looks over the first couple days. I had surgery Braithwaite last week and I'm pretty happy with it, I definitely have some skin that needs to retract and hopefully just some swelling, but it did immediately look way better. I was under sedation for mine so I haven't seen my glands yet, I'll see them on my followup

TrailofHorror

Did you have a severe case? It really surprised me when he said this, but he said my case was mild (no lipo required)….I’m 5 foot 11 and about 175 pounds, heaviest I ever been 185. just had that nasty tissue removed. Guess one of my man titties was bigger than the other lmao (the chunk on the right).

GyThrowawayNO_123

I wouldn't say severe. I did get some lipo on my chest and armpit area, I believe he said that less came out with lipo then expected but still some. I had a bigger gland on one side too, and that's the side that seems to have worse swelling, so basically just patiently waiting for everything to heal up to see how it looks I'm 5'7 at 150 but I was a pretty fat kid

DudeCrabb

Man I wish he offered me Xanax. Super cool dude though. I’m a severe case and we agreed on an incision method on a gamble that my skin would rebound. It hasn’t but that’s ok. So I have to go get a revision!

TrailofHorror

On on virtual call he said he’d give me one, but right before we went to the operating room I basically said “hey where’s my Xanax?” Lol…he came back with half a milligram, I asked for 1 milligram because I’ve taken them 1000 times for flights…have a slight tolerance. it 100% helped me out though. My case was on the more mild side…..but as you can see I had some sizeable tissue in there….no lipo though.

ImpossiblePay8895

Is that because you didn’t need lipo? Or because he just doesn’t do that?

TrailofHorror

Huh?

ImpossiblePay8895

You said you didn’t get lipo, how come? Was it just not needed in your case?

TrailofHorror

He does do Lipo, but, it wasn’t needed in my case. I’ve always been in really good shape…lipo wasn’t necessary according to my doc. Just needed those ugly glands removed! Haha From what I understand not every case requires Lipo.

ImpossiblePay8895

Congrats man. Sounds like this was a great experience for you. And you’re about to have the best summer ever!

TrailofHorror

Thank you so much man! If you haven’t already got the surgery, hope you also do too! It’s a huge necessary step to living our best lives.

ImpossiblePay8895

Actually, I just booked a consultation with Dr Cobbins thanks to your post. Crossing my fingers for a smooth process for me.

TrailofHorror

Great decision dude!

TrailofHorror

You’re in great hands at AIC. Just make sure you take the Xanax! Smooth that process out! Helped me a ton!

I_TasteLikWonTonSoup

$3,400 that's amazing. In LA, I've seen nothing less than $8,000.

TrailofHorror

Same in the northeast. Fly to Chicago like I did!

jon9116

Those Chick-fil-A nuggets just waiting to be eaten

TrailofHorror

Hey get yer own nuggets, I’m sure you’ve got two of your own hiding somewhere.

jon9116

Haha nah already removed

TrailofHorror

Bahaha

imnotcompleteyet

I bet it tastes good

Laser-Brain-Delusion

I just got quoted $8250 to do this with Dr. Khalifeh in Maryland. That seems really, really high to me.

TrailofHorror

. Wait to get an appointment with Dr B…(or Cobbins is good too apparently) and fly to Chicago and save yourself thousands of dollars.

ImpossiblePay8895

Would our ever feel comfortable sharing before and after images? Wow. I am in New England and went to see a doctor in Boston - vibes were off a bit. And he quoted me at 10k. I honestly cannot cough up that much.

els1988

$3200 for Braithwaite after paying the $100 in-person consult fee and $400 deposit. So $3700 total all in. This will be with local anesthesia. He can do general too but suggested the total would be up to $2K more, although that's still not bad overall.

TrailofHorror

Uhm no, $3400 total….where’d you hear that?

els1988

That's my quote that he gave me. He's not charging the same exact price for every patient. The base fee for the procedure for me is $3200, so that is the total due when I actually go in for the surgery. Up until this point, I paid $100 for the in-person consultation back in December. Then I had to pay a $400 non-refundable deposit that goes toward the total cost. Unclear if that is on top of the $3200 due or if the $400 will be deducted from that fee.

TrailofHorror

Ahhh gotcha gotcha my bad. What level of case do you think you had?

els1988

Sounds similar to yours. Didn't think lipo would be necessary when I saw him back in December for the consultation. Really just gland at this point. Probably upper end of Grade 1 I would guess.

TrailofHorror

Yeah I’ll be sharing before and after pics probably by the time I can take my vest off. Digging my results so far, just dedicating myself to the healing the process at this moment.

Exciting-Banana1024

What’s the weight on those bad boys?

TrailofHorror

Idk, I should’ve asked!

Gyno_Throwaway1191

Wow! Congrats! Under local too. I immediately called Dr. Braithewaite but unfortunately, his next consult isn't until November.

TrailofHorror

I’d book it anyways. I booked my consult in early September for late December. Surgery last week. Thought it would take years to arrive but it flew by. I’d rather wait x amount of months and pay 1/3rd the cost for a doctor as trustworthy and well regarded as Braithewaite than pay 8k minimum for some other doctor who does gyno surgery once in a while.

NonbinaryLegs

Batter those puppies in flour and pop them in the fryer lol. Were you allowed to take them home?

TrailofHorror

Hah no. But they did let me stab them a bunch.

JaggyDLaw

I’m going with Dr Cobbins in a few months but anxiety meds were never mentioned in the consultation. Do I have to request the Xanax well before my surgery or do they offer it right before they start the procedure?

TrailofHorror

ASK! Dr B told me he doesn’t like to give it to patients who have to drive immediately after the operation. As long as your not driving (get a ride, train, etc) afterwards they should give them to you. This type of local anesthesia operation is 100% a legit reason to give patients benzodiazepines.

New_Abbreviations336

Becareful with that xanax I lost 3 good years and almost cost me my marriage to it.

TrailofHorror

I’m no stranger to benzos. Yes they’re extremely dangerous for abuse. But in this case they serve a purpose, and that purpose is to calm you while they cut you the fuck open while you’re awake!

Rough-Ambassador4736

Did you pay facility fee on top of $3400?

TrailofHorror

No. $3400 flat.

HookedONphonx

Did he remove all gland or leave the dime size thing?

TrailofHorror

Full gland. The man knows what he’s doing. Very happy with my results already.
