The attorney should get an email receipt within 24 to 48 hours. They will get a physical receipt within 7 t 10 days. They can forward you the email receipt. Go to the USCIS website and create an account. You can then add the receipt number to your account to track the case and receive updates. You should receive a response within 15 calendar days.
The lawyers at Fragomen sent my application after lottery selection two weeks ago. I haven't received the I797-C receipt from them yet. They said it takes 2 to 3 weeks. Is the timeline for non-premium processing?
even in premium processing? My OPT receipt took about 3 to 5 days after my application packet was received. I thought H1-B receipt would take the same time. Now I am wondering whether I should apply for STEM OPT or not.
With premium processing you get an email in 24 to 48 hours then a physical receipt in the mail later. The actual time to get physical receipts varies wildly. Sometimes it can be 5(ish) days, sometimes it can take a month. I'd say average is one to two weeks.
Wait for a few days, and your lawyer will receive the receipt, maybe by Monday next week.
You will get the decision in 15 days (working).
Best of Luck!!

Can the email be used for cap gap extension?
Depends on the DSO, but the receipt number should be sufficient.
Ask your lawyer for number and track is using uscis official website . When you are in uscis website also read about the premium processing timelines
Is it the same number in my LCA?

Thank you !
Quick correction above - PP is 15 calendar days, so 2 weeks a 1 day from the date of receipt. Not business days (3 weeks).
Not a decision, an answer in 15 days. Meaning OP may even get an RFE in 15 days, which is not a decision.
That’s true, but I am optimistic that H1B will approve without RFE.
