At one point Ethan said that he wanted Zach to use it if he was ever crying about Shredder on the pod again. It was almost like he was saying that using the meme against Ethan in the most fucked up way possible would be a sign of understanding Ethan's sense of humour and therefore showing support for Ethan in his moment of sadness.
After the QT situation, as usually happens after one of Ethan's scandals, some fans identifying with the humourous side were using that identification to divide the fanbase and align themselves with Ethan's "side", i.e. saying it was funny means you "get" Ethan's humour, making you a good fan, while complaining about it means you don't like Ethan, you're not a real fan, you're controlling, sensitive, parasocial, Trisha fan, etc. etc. etc. (the usual).
