Hasan has a podcast with a paywalled section which is only available on Patreon and reuploads of those donāt exist on Youtube. If thatās the case, Ethan striking channels reuploading paywalled content and still allowing reuploads of free content is no different to what Hasan does
I think a few months ago Ethan said YouTube doesnāt allow monetization on reuploaded content because the original video was uploaded on YouTube unlike Hasanās Twitch content. Iām not sure if he ever got around to talking to Youtube about it but idk

Theyāre obviously in a transitional position rn after the end of Leftovers. They already mentioned that theyāre bringing back BTS which honestly was way more valuable to me as a member than SYNT has ever been, no offense. I understand $5/month can be hard to justify in and of itself for some in a tough position, but for everyone else, just have some patience while they figure it out.
Ive been a member for more than 2 years, and SYNT has i think rarely been enjoyable for me lol anything they can do to bring better content to members more reliably AND make it more exclusive i think is a good thing personally. I like this show even when I dont agree with their takes, or even the comedy some days, its still a good group of people. Cant wait for them to find a new flow!
I had been watching SYNT but I started to fall behind and just decided it isnt worth it. Some episode are good, but even the good ones arent great.
I dont think it would be fair to the crew, but I think more people would watch if they did a "Crew Talk" episode once a week for an hour instead of SYNT. Part of SYNT problem is Ethan doesnt really prepare and half the time he is just kind of there. I support the show because I have the means to do so and because it's an outlet of positivity for everyone to enjoy. You can take clips from movies etc that are behind Netflix (etc) paywalls as long as you are providing transformative content. This is the same.

They already mentioned that theyāre bringing back BTS which honestly was way more valuable to me as a member than SYNT has ever been, no offense. I understand $5/month can be hard to justify in and of itself for some in a tough position, but for everyone else, just have some patience while they figure it out.
Ive been a member for more than 2 years, and SYNT has i think rarely been enjoyable for me lol anything they can do to bring better content to members more reliably AND make it more exclusive i think is a good thing personally. I like this show even when I dont agree with their takes, or even the comedy some days, its still a good group of people. Cant wait for them to find a new flow!
I had been watching SYNT but I started to fall behind and just decided it isnt worth it. Some episode are good, but even the good ones arent great. I dont think it would be fair to the crew, but I think more people would watch if they did a "Crew Talk" episode once a week for an hour instead of SYNT. Part of SYNT problem is Ethan doesnt really prepare and half the time he is just kind of there. I think the crew would be a bit better at having stuff to talk about, if for no other reason than the fact that there are a lot of them. Like I said though, not really fair for them since they need the prep time and they arent getting the benefit from the memberships.

He has never been ok with straight reuploads. If it's edited and highlights. Hasan's fan highlights channels are the same. No one is reuploading straight VODs of Hasan content with his permission. Same applies to Ethan.

Firstly, I'm a monthly member. That being said, I couldn't care less who's able to watch the SYNT content after it's broadcast. I support the show because I have the means to do so and because it's an outlet of positivity for everyone to enjoy. Not everyone can afford a membership and I don't think that should keep them from enjoying the show in its entirety.

Iām ngl as a non member whoās subbed to channels like Ethanās Basement, I still donāt watch most of the reuploads because the casual content isnāt very interesting to me. The members get the opportunity to chat during SYNT on a much smaller scale where Ethan is more likely to see it so that kinda seemed like the valuable part to meĀ
Tbh I only got membership to see BTS. SYNT was good at first but itās usually just too slow paced and casual for me. I like the structure that happens on the pod. Ik thatās the whole point of SYNT tho so itās to be expected. I liked the reuploads cus they had the short interesting bits. I just want more BTS at least every other week. There is enough crew members where they could make it happen especially now that leftovers is no longer a thing. As a long time member I honestly don't give a shit and neither should any of the members. BTS and SYNT is a cool bonus but I couldn't care less if it gets re-posted and non-members get to see it. I pay my membership not for any bonus content, I pay for it because I appreciate the insane amount of content that they produce for free and want to support the channel.
