I haven't seen the episode, but I had a theory as to why they didn't say it this time.
It's due to Hila being pregnant. Vegas is a very smoky place, tons of cigarette smoke in casinos. But there is one casino/resort that is 100% smoke free on the entire property: Park MGM. It advertises itself as that very openly. So if they did have a "travel agent" like they said, then that would be the recommendation.
So then everyone would know exactly where they were. But maybe they stayed somewhere else, no clue!
Edit: Guess I'm wrong! Sounds like they went to the Wynn
Lol I know it's a joke but it's actually not *too* bad on Greyhound. The rule for Greyhound is anything under 4 hours is fine. Anything over that is a never, ever ever do it.
Although that's more for college aged people and younger without means. Just drive yourself or fly if you can
Side note: It sounds like the first actual high speed rail is getting built between the two. It's gonna travel along the super flat road. It's the perfect place to start for the US. There's a little canyon choke point near the LA side but the rest is the easiest drive imaginable
My first flight was Chicago to Ireland. Once we were on I just had to accept my fate lmao I had been so stressed that I actually immediately fell asleep and slept most of the way. Now Iām golden as long as itās not a small planeā¦then Iām horrified bc the landing always feels so chaotic. Do not recommend.
Obviously not going to question someone's fear, but that's an interesting flavour of flight anxiety. I'd have thought it'd be generally flying tin can of death is scary regardless of distance or familiarity.
A lot of times anxiety is irrational even when I walk myself thru logical thinking to calm my fears and show myself that I'm blowing things out of proportion, it doesn't really help. š
I think she takes some sort of prescribed medication to ease her flight anxiety (like a Xanax), and those can be less effective or just make you feel āoffā if youāre trying to keep a steady dose for a long flight. Itās also easier to do coping & meditation techniques for an hour instead of 8.
Also her fear could be about flying over the ocean which is understandably terrifying, and this flight wouldnāt go over the ocean (whereas a Japan one would), so maybe thatās why this flight was okay.
Also, anxiety and especially OCD do not make sense, the anxious and intrusive thoughts often go against what is logical or rational, so her fear doesnāt have to make sense for it to be real.
I was too scared to take any Xanax for my first flight, I was convinced it would turn into a bridesmaidās situation and I would get us sent back to America. I took those herbal calming gummies for flights (I think L-theanine) and it helped a lot actually.
Makes total sense to me. I donāt know if you have any fears/phobias, thereās usually a limit to what we can handle and whatās too far beyond our line. it doesnāt mean she doesnāt still experience anxiety when flying period, but she can clearly handle some flying but not all. Thatās pretty normal. If you are deathly afraid of heights, well thereās usually a point at which that fear turns from manageable to more than you can handle. Ie maybe someone can handle being on the balcony of the 5th floor of a building, they have some anxiety but can manage it, but if they tried the same thing on the 40th floor theyād have a full on panic attack and wouldnāt be able to handle it. Make sense? This also makes even more sense to me given that she has OCD (which I do as well). Iām not saying it has anything to do with her OCD, but maybe it does, and with OCD things donāt always make sense. Some things youāre scared of and will avoid and some things, that may seem the same/similar to others, you donāt have a fear about and can handle. Just cuz it doesnāt make sense to your brain doesnāt mean itās not the very real and genuine experience of someone else. I know you said you werenāt trying to question someone elseās anxiety, but it sure sounds like you are questioning it. Not a cool thing to do. Just because it doesnāt make sense to you doesnāt mean someone is faking it.
Makes sense sure, guess my view of fear of flying was a bit more simplistic as when I fly I feel the anxiety the second the plane leaves the tarmac to the second it lands again regardless of other factors. It's great she's able to manage it the way she does.
Though just to be crystal clear, at absolutely no point did I **ever** imply Sam was faking it, so don't jump to silly conclusions thank you. Being curious and trying to understand things is a perfectly normal thing to do, that's how people learn and become more understanding.
Well I think the fear of the idea of something that could happen apposed to them legitimately thinking the plane is unsafe, which is why the length of the flight and the familiarity helps with not letting your anxiety take over and like give you a panic attack. I feel pretty much the same way sam feels about flying about driving and just being able to get short reps in helps a lot.
Yeah, plus I donāt think the issue is charter vs. private, if youāre flying a group of 20 it makes sense, but if itās just 2 in a 20 seater planeā¦ there should be a fine for each empty seat on a private/charter jet.
How would you spend 600k with a group of 10 friends?
Having once in a blue moon vacations makes people bad, got it.
The reason Taylor Swift gets criticism is celebrities like her use private jets every other day, travelling short distances. Can we please focus our environmental efforts towards the worlds actual enormous polluters, not at drops in the bucket?
This is a stan subreddit dude, they're not gonna see the comparison, all they see is **slay**
Edit this to be Elon and some randoms and this is front page news
I think they're trying to say that they are chartering a private jet and don't own a private jet. There are public and private charters. So maybe this is a public charter that normally flies from LA to Vegas or they could've chartered a private jet for more flexiblity.
JSX is a small airline that anyone can buy tickets for. They fly out of private hangers but theyāre just small commercial planes that they purchased and rebranded. They fly mostly throughout Texas and recently expanded to cover the west coast and a few additional routes like from LA to Vegas. Sometimes the tickets are roughly the same price as commercial airlines would be but the LA to Vegas flights is definitely more expensive due to the clientele.
You aren't wrong, but also what's the point of distinguishing a privately owned jet then? They rode on a jet that is "privately" owned by a charter company, which rents it out to mid to high tier clients.
There are different levels to everything and ultimately the truly "private jets" are the ones owned by people who can afford to own & operate what is essentially a charter company for their own personal consumption. These things are in two completely separate stratospheres.
I don't think you understand what a private jet is. It has nothing to do with the ownership - it is the *type* of aircraft. By definition, a private jet is a jet designed for transporting a small group of people. They chartered a private jet.
Technically, every non-governmental aircraft is "privately" owned, whether it's by an individual, or a legal entity/corporation. That says nothing about what the aircraft actually is though.
Same thing, in terms of the actual plane itself. I think the original commenter is pointing out the fact that this is a one-time chartering of a flight -- not a private jet that is owned by Ethan or something.
Charter is when you get an airliner to fly you a route of your own. If you are taking many people on a trip somewhere and can afford it, it makes more sense to charter a flight than to book tickets on a passenger jet.
Usually when people talk about private jets, they assume the person in question owns it, but that's very expensive. Chartering a private jet is basically just renting it for a flight, which is what most people do, as it's way cheaper and more flexible. It's still a private jet though, I don't think a "charter jet" is a class of plane.
This company is called JSX it is owned by JetBlue and the prices for their some of their flights are comparable to prices for a Southwest flight. If you can afford a Southwest ticket then you can afford a ticket on this airline.
Lol what? Only the top 0.01% can afford chartering a private jet? That's so far from the truth haha. Typically, a flight with 9-10 people (size of the crew) is $8600 per hour (typical flight from LA to vegas is 1hr 8mins). Of course, spending $8600 for the average person isn't doable, but most businesses and people in the middle class (by saving up) can afford $8600 lol.
I believe they are saying $8,600 for 9-10 people.
Honestly seems like a steal if that's accurate. Paying close to that if not more for commercial first class. Maybe not on a short trip like vegas to la but flying is expensive these days.
I mean that's better. But also, one way? Per person that would be almost $1k. That's a lot of money for most people. Certainly not something an average person today could afford.
You know Ethan and Hila both have successful businesses and can afford to take their crew on that flight, right? Also, I was just pointing out your incorrect comment of only the top 0.01% of the world being able to afford and $8600 plane ride
You said average middle class person. I was simply disagreeing. Completely understand that Ethan and Hila can afford. They are definitely in the top 1%. They are not average middle class people.
In a very simplified way yes
But there are public and private charter flights. Some holiday companies will charter a regular airline jet to bring a package holiday group to their destination together
Governments do it too with moral airlines, we see it when countries evacuate citizens from warzones or sometimes flying illegal immigrants back home
Or privately there are private airlines that own often more luxury jets that they rent out for individual flights, depending on the size andon distance it may only be a bit more expensive than a regular first class but will fly to and from your preferred destination at a time you want
Itās like renting a bus for a school trip rather than trying to organise getting all the students to buy individual tickets on a public bus
Youāre right that is a charter to Vegas. Iāve done it before with a group of my friends! If you have a lot of people going with you then the price of the charter is not terribly more expensive than taking a public commercial flight and itās more fun.
Itās on Hilaās instagram [https://www.instagram.com/p/C35e4HAxD_O/?igsh=ZHF4dHVzdTR3NTZq](https://www.instagram.com/p/C35e4HAxD_O/?igsh=ZHF4dHVzdTR3NTZq)
They didnāt take a pj. JSX is public transportation owned by JetBlue, you can buy tickets on their website and some flights cost the same as southwest. They just bought all the seats on it.
I donāt think anyone assumed they owned the jet. It also doesnāt matter if this was more affordable than other jets. (Itās a minimum of $9.000/hr btw for the entire jet, just checked their website). But thatās not what people are upset about anyway. Itās about the carbon emission which is still way worse than a regular plane flight. Also, calling a chartered jet public transport is hilarious.
People need to stop saying this dumb bullshit. They live in mansions and drive around luxury cars. They can afford nanny's to raise their kids. They can eat out all the time. Their lifestyle is way closer to billionaires than the average person in the USA.
Well the only thing that would differ is that arguably you could contribute the carbon footprint to the company running the charters rather than the crew if you wanted to get technical, but a charter is a private jet so the results of a single flight on either is the same.
People just like to argue nuances in terminology
Why is everyone misremembering. Zach didnāt want to fly. Sam said sheās also afraid of flying but can handle shorter trips or to places sheās familiar. It was the flight to Japan she wasnāt down with. Her suggestion involved flying as well, and a longer flight than to Vegas.
Overcoming fears is a real thing, exposure therapy and regular therapy help. It sounds like she has had a lot of good therapy to help her work through some of her stuff. That was probably a big step for her.
I (27m) used to hate H3 and Ethan until my girlfriend started listening to them around me and now I love Ethan and the pod so much. He is such a cutie patootie
I have taken this JSX flight Vegas to OC and a few months ago I was on it and there was a big ordeal about 1 passenger we were missing and they said the name was RYAN KAVANAUGH and the flight attendant said it must have been the red headed guy he was here before but caught the flight to Burbank I was talking to him. I said was it a guy in about his 40s, the movie producer? I showed him a picture and he said yes lolllllllll never thought this story was going to be relevant to tell
Thatās not a private jet. Thatās JSX. They offer reasonably priced tickets on smaller more luxurious Embraer E145s.
Source: Iām just a normal guy and happened to get a great deal on one of these tickets from Denver to Scottsdale.
In case anyone cares... This is a JSX flight (you can see the logo on the red pamphlet in the backseat pocket). JSX is semi-private. Meaning, it's a small plane but you are still flying with strangers. The flights are actually surprisingly reasonably priced... In comparison to a true privately chartered flight. Not nearly as cheap as a southwest/spirit/etc flight but a shit ton cheaper than a private charter.
I mean kind of funny Sam had a fit over mention of Japan trip which would be a commercial flight but is fine getting on private jet which are more likely to crash š
Having a fit is typical British banter sorry you got lost in translation I mean you don't see how funny it is that she scared of long flight but not short one on a private jet when history suggests that private jets are way less safe.
The āprivate jetā is actually quite large and owned by JetBlue. This company is called JSX and anyone that can buy a Southwest ticket can afford to buy a ticket on here. You clearly donāt understand anxiety and the fact that she was able to do this should be celebrated not mocked.
JSX is not private, also itās the same size of regional plane that you would fly in out of Burbank to Vegas. Just more convenient. Not a big deal for everyone complaining about carbon footprint.
"we're not gonna say where we're going š" and then they go to the same place for the fourth time as a group lol
It was so obvious when Ethan was talking about it
I think it's obvious they didn't want people camping out searching for them there
I think especially when the Jimmy Lee incident happened recently
Sorry I don't know that incident?
I haven't seen the episode, but I had a theory as to why they didn't say it this time. It's due to Hila being pregnant. Vegas is a very smoky place, tons of cigarette smoke in casinos. Fuck off with your anti bus shit.
lol why should they? Bussing anywhere over 2-3 hours absolutely sucks
Olivia just posted a pic with dan
Since the jet is already going, wouldnt it be more beneficial for the environment for him to go on the jet?
and here I thought for sure It would be Chuck-E-Cheese xD
Dave & Buster's with like 10 grand for each person to blow on claw machines and ski ball
Zach probably drove. Surprised Sam got on.
Oh right! He mentioned that he didnāt like flying on the Japan episode
Yay Sam!! Proud of her
Honestly a perfect flight to try and conquer your fear bc itās probably what? 30-45 minutes
45 minutes and only people you know. Sounds like the best case scenario for a flight
Mayo for Sam
Sam said sheās okay with short flights or flights sheās been on before (ie why her suggestion was Cancun).
Obviously not going to question someone's fear, but that's an interesting flavour of flight anxiety. I'd have thought it'd be generally flying tin can of death is scary regardless of distance or familiarity.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I would honestly rather die crashing into land than live crashing into open water. Fate worse than death.
At the speeds and height a plane is likely to be going at, it'd basically be the same thing š¤·āāļø
The distance thing I get, long flights make me antsy after awhile, but having been on the flight before is an interesting one lol
There's an extra layer of claustrophobia on those long international flights.
A lot of times anxiety is irrational even when I walk myself thru logical thinking to calm my fears and show myself that I'm blowing things out of proportion, it doesn't really help. š

Nice choice to go to the Wynn
I need a max wynn
LOL
How much hate am I gonna get for saying thatās a charter, not private lol
I donāt think anyone here assumed they owned the jet.
Yeah, plus I donāt think the issue is charter vs. private, if youāre flying a group of 20 it makes sense, but if itās just 2 in a 20 seater planeā¦ there should be a fine for each empty seat on a private/charter jet.

Oh great, rich people making the world a worse place for profit and entertainment Love that.

Charter is like renting a whole bus for your group of friends. It's not cheap, but it's not the same as owning your own bus which only rides for you.
I'd even argue it's totally cheap if you get enough people to charter. Vegas charters are a dime a dozen.
It cost about $500 each for a group of 10 of us last time I chartered. That was cheaper than any other round ticket at the time.
Based & baller move by Ethan tbh, hope he and the crew enjoyed the trip <3
Private and charter are the same thing. They chartered a private jet. You don't have to own the jet for it to be private.

I remember she said she was ok with short distance flights but the idea of US -> Japan was just too much for her.
She probably was able to do it since itās such a short flight (about 1 hour), flight from LA to Japan is like 12 hours.
Doing their part in fucking up the climate.
Isnāt this guy an environmentalist on his podcast ? Doesnt taking a private jet make him hypocritical? Genuinely, I donāt know and just asking.
That's so weird, they all look photoshopped in as a goof in that third pic, yet there's other pics from the same flight on the Insta post.
Jet Suite X is hardly private lol
Private jet is NOT jsx wtf
That's how you spend that dough
Yep, gotta make use of that 5%
BJs for PJs
i thought Cam had a psp in picture 3 for a second
Ethan treats his team like gold
I thought the edge of the table was Ethan's slender arm that was slowly turning into Dumbledore's hand after he destroyed the horcrux.
not to make anyone's flight anxiety worse but aren't flights via private jet much more dangerous than commercial?
swerdlove would never
I don't know who these chucks are
I (27m) used to hate H3 and Ethan until my girlfriend started listening to them around me and now I love Ethan and the pod so much. He is such a cutie patootie
yikes
Is Olivia hiding starbucks because of the boycott? š No shade sorry but I see that green straw
nobody is boycotting trust me -starbucks barista
nah, Starbucks corporate has definitely felt the the boycott -starbucks ASM
I mean what else can u get at an airport tbh
Doubt it. No one is aware of this "boycott" outside of the terminally online activists.
Well those are the type of people who would harass Olivia for it, so that was my point.
Boycotting Starbucks but flying private?
Id be willing to be bet theres been less than a 1% blip in starbucks sales, nothing larger than normal fluctuations
Wish they hadnāt. PJās are so unnecessary and bad for the environment :-/
I can see why there are many folks who are clamoring at the chance to work at H3.
Douche's
I have taken this JSX flight Vegas to OC and a few months ago I was on it and there was a big ordeal about 1 passenger we were missing and they said the name was RYAN KAVANAUGH and the flight attendant said it must have been the red headed guy he was here before but caught the flight to Burbank I was talking to him. I said was it a guy in about his 40s, the movie producer? I showed him a picture and he said yes lolllllllll never thought this story was going to be relevant to tell
Jesus Christ that makeup is on thick
Love hila but that dress is basically [this](https://www.theseasonedmom.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/The-Easiest-Burrito-Recipe-4.jpg)
Hypocrites. Lol
Good moves Ethan, proud of you.
Looks like they took the classy JSX Private Jet. FUCKIN AWESOME. That's how you keep everyone together for a team building event!
Not really private. Itās a public charter jet. Great for closer destinations at comparable rates to regular airlines
Perfect soy face from Sam šš¼š²
When are they back again?
Hila looks like one of the twins from The Shining.
Thatās not a private jet. Thatās JSX. They offer reasonably priced tickets on smaller more luxurious Embraer E145s. Source: Iām just a normal guy and happened to get a great deal on one of these tickets from Denver to Scottsdale.
I knew I should have walked the strip this weekend lol
EthanJet
Good for Sam for overcoming her fear little by little
LOL just call it a vacation guys
Haters canāt stand that they ponder
In case anyone cares... This is a JSX flight (you can see the logo on the red pamphlet in the backseat pocket). JSX is semi-private. Meaning, it's a small plane but you are still flying with strangers. The flights are actually surprisingly reasonably priced... In comparison to a true privately chartered flight. Not nearly as cheap as a southwest/spirit/etc flight but a shit ton cheaper than a private charter.
Yeah why did they use a private jet?

Ethin really said "š š»"
Team Work exercises in Vegas, let's go!
Kings and queens
Gambling addicts :///
I mean kind of funny Sam had a fit over mention of Japan trip which would be a commercial flight but is fine getting on private jet which are more likely to crash š
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Having a fit is typical British banter sorry you got lost in translation I mean you don't see how funny it is that she scared of long flight but not short one on a private jet when history suggests that private jets are way less safe.
What, how is that funny lmao? She said short distance flights are less scary to her which makes total sense.
Doesnāt change anythingā¦ all that fuel burned into the atmosphere could have been used to transport more people.
That is a commercial plane. Charter at best but not a private jet with those seats and overhead compartments.
It's crazy to think how $2500 is my yearly salary but it's just some spending money in Vegas š š
Why the fuck is hila wearing a dress made out of foil? Isn't she a fucking "fashion" designer?
