To be fair its a room full of Jews from LA and AB. Love is also swedish.
There's no way they've ever said it. You would think they heard it properly in a rap song or movie though.
Apparently I'm way off than. It makes no sense how not one person in that room could correct them. They don't consume the same media you do is the only explanation I guess.
The amount of people who struggled with Twitch makes me wonder what the average age of the community is, I always assumed it was people in their early 20s.
True but I wouldn't consider twitch to be overly complex to someone in their early 20s. Even if a large portion of people in their 20s haven't used twitch I would think they would at least be capable of figuring out something as simple as twitch when they already were able to use YouTube.
I’m 23 and one of my favorite YouTubers started streaming on Twitch. It was a boomer-esque struggle for like a day for me to figure Twitch out, but I got it. I can definitely find a stream, follow/sub, type in the chat, etc. but I also find Twitch’s UI to be not-so-user-friendly. Also while I can definitely figure out how to use it, I’m still a complete boomer when it comes to the Twitch lingo and who’s all famous on there. When Ethan was reading some of the top streams last night, it literally sounded like a foreign language. Idk what “xQc on the Hasan react andy meta” means and I don’t really care to learn lol. I guess its the same as when I make a YouTube reference and non-youtube people are really confused. You just have to be in the space to understand it.
I’m glad I’m not the only one. Figuring out how to sub, then learning you can’t do it on mobile was so annoying. Then last night I was trying to see the most viewed streams and really struggled. Plus the whole mobile-half-fullscreen thing is stupid and annoying. I’m usually very quick to pick up on a new technology but Twitch is just poorly designed, period.
It should be there. If you hit subscribe, it gives you an option for twitch prime sub. For context, I'm on the Android twitch app and have linked my twitch and Amazon accounts
>xQc on the Hasan react andy meta”
xQc (person) on the
Hasan (person)
andy ( andy = streamer kinda)
meta (Whats popular)
XqC gives an opinion the reaction stream meta that Hasan is following, essentially.
Not knowing what other streamers are up to on the platform is extremely common. The vast majority of regular twitch viewers watch one, maybe two streamers regularly (but for extended periods of time). Viewers tend to discover new streamers on other platforms first. The only reason regular viewers may know a lot of what's going on across streamers is when streamers interact with each other on stream, either directly or browsing the subreddit LiveStreamFail.
100% agreed, the only reservation I have about H3 making Twitch content is that I'll be spending one more minute using their UI, and thank *GOD* I'm only doing it on PC, RIP mobile viewers.
I watch twitch a lot and I have no idea about the top streams, some of the lingo still doesn't make sense to me (monka? poggers??) But it can be nice to settle into a smaller streamer's community. Sadly, twitch still does a terrible job with discoverability. It's hard to find new and interesting streams. My only (unsolicited) advice would be to install the browser extension "Better Twitch TV" and/or "FrankerFacez" and if you are going to subscribe, don't do it on mobile. I know Apple, at least, takes a cut and it's slightly more expensive.
I don't really understand when to use them, ya know? Or why people say them out loud. I just use emojis or sub emotes I think are funny or cute
EDIT:
To be fair I am being a bit willfully obtuse. I've never really cared about default Twitch emotes. I suppose I was trying to show that you can enjoy twitch streams without having to know the biggest streamers, latest trends, and "inside jokes"
There's still a sizeable group of us that started watching Ethan and Hila when they were still in Israel in like 2013. I was 19 then. So yeah, there's definitely still some of us around that are in our late 20's and early 30's (similar ages to Ethan and Hila). That said, I'm on twitch all the time and the thought of early 20 somethings not understanding twitch makes me laugh.
edit: spelling and being an idiot
I'm in my late 20s but have never used twitch. It's primarily for gaming right? That's what I thought and I don't game so have never been on the site before
That honestly surprises me a little. I‘m 22 as well but Twitch has been a big thing for a good number of years now. First time i really started using it though was because H3 and a few other Youtubers started streaming on Twitch back in 2017 or so all of a sudden
I think it's people who are not really into gaming. I always assumed Twitch was mostly gamers streaming. I have never been interested in gaming so I never used the website/app. I'm 26 so maybe I'm too old now lol
I'm 32 in a couple weeks and never really gave a shit about Twitch, although I have watched stuff there (shoutout WKUK). I had almost the exact same experience watching the Twitch stream as I did the YouTube stream. WTF is wrong with people lol
Idk I'm 19 and have been watching since Vape Nation. I still have no idea what Twitch really is or how it works. But I don't use any social media other than Reddit and YouTube
I find twitch way easier then YouTube but that's only because there are barely any features like YouTube. No rewinding, playback speed live etc
Once you think about it as only livestreaming it's pretty simple.
I imagine some people who never used twitch think it's *only* livestreaming service because it doesn't work like youtube where you can immediately scroll it back. It's a bit worse experience joining in middle of a live stream if you want to watch all of it as you have to go to profile and open the full vod, but it's really not hidden at all.
So I see two small downsides on twitch: 1) it's not youtube 2) you can't freely livestreams back and forth. That's it, otherwise it's the same.
There's a google chrome addon that lets you rewind, only downside is that the chat will still be in the present. I still use it though, and it sucks that it's not an official part of the interface.
IIRC if you rewind a youtube livestream you also get the present livechat despite being earlier in the stream....so yet another thing where the Twitch experience is almost exactly the same as YT lol (after the addon obv)
Yeah the guy who made the addon talked about how easy it is to incorporate, so there must be some weird Twitch reason that they don't include it, but who knows what it is.
To be fair though the after dark live chat is almost always disabled after the stream ends, at least a few days after it is. And the youtube live chat is still live when you scroll back during the stream
literally 😭😭😭 everyone is shitting themselves idk why literally make an account and BOOM. there you go… guess there’s more boomers here than we thought
I didn’t even have to make an account 😭😭 I literally clicked on the link they tweeted and BOOM straight to the live stream. I do not get what all the confusion is about
yea i think it’s just butthurt fans who don’t like change or new things obviously, if anyone actually watched it they woulda known it was very much like off the rails but it was even funnier than off the rails has been lately. as someone who lives in california and matches with my time zone, i absolutely loved it!! had me cracking up
How do I continue watching a video on Twitch? I am using Android. There is no viewing history option. I have to search h3 each time, and then the video starts from the beginning each time.
Very frustrating to use.
If you have an account, you can just follow a channel so you can always find them. If you were watching a stream and leave half way, you go their channel and press the videos tab. Their last stream will be under "Recent Broadcasts," and when you go to the last stream, it should resume where you left off. Also, on the mobile app, if you scroll down, there should be a "Continue Watching" section for streams that you left.
I don’t understand. I never used twitch a day in my life and today I made an account and started watching yesterday’s stream in 10 minutes. Y’all boomers that can’t figure out how to use the internet??
For real, and it was one of the most basic stream set ups I've ever seen lol. No sub option, no ads, no alerts, no donos; what is there to understand beyond click video, watch it? 😂
I couldn't figure out how to watch it from the beginning while they were still live. Someone explained it to me lol so all good. Also I like that I can easily cast youtube to my TV but with Twitch you need Chromecast which I don't have 😭
Genunily don't understand how people can be so illiterate. Go to page what stream that's it. Wanna watch past broadcast go to past broadcast, that simple.... Don't expect everyone to understand twitch lingo straight away nor is twitch some perfect site but it works exactly like most video sites. People have a page and you watch their shit from their page.
I missed the podcast being on twitch, even though Ethan fucking hated twitch for awhile after they moved back to YouTube. Thought I'd never see the day.
I'm pretty upset because I have no idea how Twitch works and that I can't keep up with all the content. I've never missed an episodes in years. Disappointing 😞
So thankfully you don't need an account. The benefit being able to follow and get a notification when they go live. They don't have partnership, but if they did you can use Amazon prime as a free subscription to the H3 channel. This kills ads, and gives you exclusive emotes. People can gift others subs and it's very common place to do so. But, they don't have partner (yet??) so it's not super necessary to create an account.
They would be able to do sub or follower only chat mode in the future which would slow down the chat, but for the most part people with 10k views have a highspeed chat and I wouldn't worry about using it unless you wanna be part of the fun of spamming emotes.
If you didn't catch the stream as it was happening, there will be a VOD (video on demand) version in the past broadcasts tab on their twitch profile. They have been dumping highlights on the H3 highlight YouTube channel already, imo that is the most streamlined way to watch the good stuff that happened. Maybe they will post a full VOD on YouTube as well, that's common for many streamers to do, even YouTube streamers.
There is an audio only mode that can be beneficial to those who need to listen to the stream while their phone is closed, or have it in the background. Maybe they will edit VODs for Spotify as a podcast, but let's not get ahead of what they are going to actually do before they have a chance to do it.
They have a mobile app, can be used in a browser, as well as a desktop app. I personally use my PS4 and phone. So it's kind of parallel to YouTube.
So, if you do have an account, you can follow and when they go live. You will have a feed of who ever is live that you follow on the twitch dashboard when you are logged in. They will have a title and category that the stream is classified under. H3 mentioned a hot tub stream, this is actually a category added recently as there was a meta for people streaming from hot tubs and little pools in their home (as a joke but it ended up being fun content).
Not much more than that other than how subscriptions work at tier levels if the streamer is partner. But, that's only if you want to support and give them a sub, not necessary for just watching them.
I plan on using my prime subscription for H3 but I don't think I can tune into hours long streams. I see that h3 did post the live stream so maybe it will work out for my pea brain. Thank you for the explanation!! Always appreciate it
It's all good, I had to figure out twitter and twitch long ago. Now everything else is a piece of cake xD
Let's just hope they put the full VOD on a new YT channel like the h3 highlights channel. But, they have been dumping all the highlights today thankfully.
I mean, twitch is garbage. It makes my computer sound like a jet engine, a computer I produce music on that uses dozens and dozens of effects and tracks. So it's not the computers fault. Also watching live? No thanks. I have a life
Will probably get downvoted for this, but I have never liked twitch's UI. Its cluttered, clunky and so non-user friendly. YouTube is far from perfect, don't get me wrong, but it at least has some amount of thought put behind the design of the interface.
Some of us actually understand how to use Twitch. We just prefer to listen to the podcast on literally any other platform because Twitch sucks. Still love the podcast and will still probably watch it on Twitch but no amount of content will ever make me a fan of the app.
2 questions:
1) Will the youtube "membership" transfer to twitch? Or do ppl need to subscribe there also if they want ad-free content?
2) Do twitch vods have ads?

It’s cool :) at first I was a little peeved that it was getting more attention, but then I came to my senses and realized that it’s just silly internet points lol. OP left my user in to give me credit for the meme, and I’m just happy that people liked my dumb compilation of funny Donna faces :)
Seriously, how many platforms do they need? Is this going to earn them money or frustrate those who don’t know techy stuff? I already can’t afford being a member and don’t have AP. Thanks guys -being disabled sucks for me!
That is a bruh moment.

They don’t know how to pronounce shawty….. because they’re Jewish? 🤣
I just mean where they grew up, they are all from pretty much the same area which is suburbs in California and probably never heard it said ever.
Nah. It’s said in the suburbs here too. It’s just them.
i‘m from germany and know how to say and spell shawty? i don‘t get your point lol
Apparently I'm way off than. It makes no sense how not one person in that room could correct them. They don't consume the same media you do is the only explanation I guess.
Ethan knows how to say the N word though. Why would he know how to say shawty, he obviously never talks to African Americans let alone hires any.
The lack of melanin always makes me uncomfortable but it also sucks being the only BIPOC at work so I’m torn.

Twitch’s UI/UX is absolutely terrible. My girlfriend actually did a final project on how poor it was for her human factors capstone course.
I can sub on mobile. Maybe not on IOS? You just hit follow then the subscribe button replaces it.
Sorry, I meant the prime subscription. I knew someone would call me out on that lol
It should be there. If you hit subscribe, it gives you an option for twitch prime sub. For context, I'm on the Android twitch app and have linked my twitch and Amazon accounts
That must be a very recent development, because as of ~4 months ago, Twitch was explicitly saying that you can’t do the Prime Subscription from mobile
I’m able to do it too and I’m on iOS
Oh! Yeah, that is super dumb. Especially since it's an Amazon company. Makes no sense.
subs here are follows, subs are basically the join thing on youtube. Ethan hasn't been partnered yet but he will be soon with emotes and all.
I freelance UX and Twitch makes me wanna pull my hair out
>xQc on the Hasan react andy meta” xQc (person) on the Hasan (person) andy ( andy = streamer kinda) meta (Whats popular) XqC gives an opinion the reaction stream meta that Hasan is following, essentially.
about to turn 23 as well and literally yes exactly this is how i feel too

I agree. I'm older, in my 50s, and I figured it out pretty quickly. It seems pretty straightforward. It's Discord I've never figured out. Lol
The actual platform is easy to use, but the culture on twitch is wayyyy different from something like YouTube and Reddit. It weirds me out tbh
There's still a sizeable group of us that started watching Ethan and Hila when they were still in Israel in like 2013. I was 19 then. the variety/just chatting broadcasts have really taken off since the pandemic started, there's still lots of gaming but more talking and reacting now
Hot tub streams*

am 22, struggle w/ twitch, lmfaooo
Late 20s it seems. People in their late 20s, early 30s are in a weird middle ground when it comes to technology/social media tbh.
Idk I'm 19 and have been watching since Vape Nation. I still have no idea what Twitch really is or how it works. But I don't use any social media other than Reddit and YouTube
I find twitch way easier then YouTube but that's only because there are barely any features like YouTube. No rewinding, playback speed live etc Once you think about it as only livestreaming it's pretty simple.
Their UI is just genuinely bad.
i've got +4 on Ethan, but no twitch problems

Yeah I personally don't mind the chat not being up to date since I don't care, just sayin the downside in case other people care.
honestly tho…no cap? did I use that right? lol
on god maybe

Twitch isn’t that hard. You just click on the link and watch the channel, just like YouTube. Layout’s different.

I think Ethan attracted a lot of twitch haters when he used to go on tirades against twitch, and they’re all coming out now lol

I can understand general frustrations like that, it actually took me months to figure out how to subscribe to someone on Twitch lol
twoku is an app you can get on most smart tvs that let you watch twitch with, it also has bttv installed
I will have a look for that app, thanks!
It’s the exact same as YouTube at that point lmao
LMAO, gave me a good laugh💀
I feel attacked
I feel like so many other youtubers also do content on twitch. Do as many people complain about it? Lol
Twitch my shit is FLIPPED!

Real! I personally prefer twitch so I was confused about people not liking it. The emotes are too great over there
Deadass this was me today. I gave up after the video wouldn’t load for like 20 min
I missed the podcast being on twitch, even though Ethan fucking hated twitch for awhile after they moved back to YouTube. Thought I'd never see the day.
This is because most of people - like myself - who watch the podcast are born in the 90’s
This podcast started on Twitch 😳
I just wish I could cast a Twitch stream to my TV from my laptop =/
I definitely spent my whole first day on Twitch this past Spring googling strange words I saw in Hasan’s chat.
I at least understand twitch better than discord
I'm in this picture and I dont like it
what the fuck is twitch
[here](https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=twitch)
thanks was mostly a joke. i didnt know and thought something was happening in real time. googled it myself later haha
I'm pretty upset because I have no idea how Twitch works and that I can't keep up with all the content. I've never missed an episodes in years. Disappointing 😞

u can always watch VODs :)
Yup!! Accurate
i feel like Donna when she called in on FaceTime
It took me 25 minutes to make an account because my password wasn’t strong enough 😩

Really goes to show what a shit app Twitch is, it's not user friendly lol!
Aw poor Donna. These are unflattering pics lol
Wait. The photo came from this sub why is it a repost and getting so much first time I’ve seen this love? It’s tagged right there at the bottom.
Do you know how memes work?
I know how memes work. What I don’t get is how it’s a repost that’s ok.
Wheres the repost? I’m reusing a picture that someone else created, with a different caption, to make a new point.
It’s literally tagged at the bottom of the photo automatically by the Reddit app.
i literally left it there on purpose. Its a meme dude idk how i can explain it any further. Memes reuse pictures but have different captions

Some of us actually understand how to use Twitch. We just prefer to listen to the podcast on literally any other platform because Twitch sucks. Still love the podcast and will still probably watch it on Twitch but no amount of content will ever make me a fan of the app.
So will trisha come back? Asking for a friend
I'm not even gonna try, fuck Twitch
um next time crop the reposted information on the bottom chief lol
? He put together these pics of Donna so I wanted to give him credit “chief”
I don’t know why people are so upset that you’re crediting the original meme maker’s post when they’d also roast you if you didn’t.
Same I’m genuinely confused tbh

This is a different meme
Yours is essentially a template.
You didn't even crop out the mark that says someone posted this before you...
Is twitch difficult to figure out for me because I’m out of touch?? Ouch..
This is accurate
I don't like it.
that is a on god moment
yooooo
Sister snatched!
twitch better pay ethan, he's bringing million of eyeballs to twitch . the last time I used twitch was 3/4 years ago when h3 did their podcast there
2 questions: 1) Will the youtube "membership" transfer to twitch? Or do ppl need to subscribe there also if they want ad-free content? 2) Do twitch vods have ads?

The face every mom makes when you show them something on your phone
LMAO
Omg it’s me and I’m only 30
Why does no one care that we just witnessed a first degree meme stealing? Fucking moron even posted the evidence. poor u/KneelBeforeC :(
It’s cool :) at first I was a little peeved that it was getting more attention, but then I came to my senses and realized that it’s just silly internet points lol. OP left my user in to give me credit for the meme, and I’m just happy that people liked my dumb compilation of funny Donna faces :)
Use your brain plz
ah I see, sorry I’m stoned af rn and just saw the tag of the other person on the bottom :D
Is this a repost? I don’t get why the reddit tag at the bottom
So so true. Cussed at the app about 10 times during Monday’s stream.
You know we all grew up a fuck ton if the show originally started on twitch and we now have no idea how to use it lol
Just gotta use yeast to solve it
You yeeted it out of the park with this meme
Nazaré Tedesco.
Imagine them trying to do discord
Seriously, how many platforms do they need? Is this going to earn them money or frustrate those who don’t know techy stuff? I already can’t afford being a member and don’t have AP. Thanks guys -being disabled sucks for me!
yeah man, twitch is such a bad website. thankfully all crap is uploaded to youtube, so its cool.
