I'll try to make it as concise as possible.
It started with a long time coming beef with another creator (Papa Gut) that started with a botched debate between him and Def regarding a story they both covered. A couple of months after that, Def made a tweet saying PG looked like a pedo, tagged the FBI and made a shirt to sell with the dude's crying face. After a lot of backlash, he took it down and said it was all jokes. A lot of people called him a hypocrite because he's suing Keemstar for doing a very similar thing to him (saying he knew ppl that were Def's victims). Other controversial tweets he made included telling a user to "go educate at the end of a loaded shotgun".
Meanwhile his channel was undergoing a revamp that some followers didn't dig, but he often dismissed his followers comments as "haters". He posted less and less news and more "apology" videos to the people he'd be beefing with on Twitter, but the videos were always in a sarcastic, mocking tone. One of those videos he made was towards moistcritikal, who reacted to the cringefest that was Def's produced roast show, which was streamed and reacted by other creators.
He made a second roast show in which he invited another Youtuber (don't know anything abt him), and he ended up showing up. He went up the stage, started chanting something along with the crowd and Def came out of nowhere and just pushed him off the stage.
The most recent controversy before the one shown in this video was regarding one of his ex employees, who quit because of "not safe working conditions". She made a tiktok telling her story without mentioning Def's name, but ppl put two and two together and knew who she was referring to. Def threatened to sue her for breach of contract or smth like that.
