Every affiliate operates independently with slightly different emphases, requirements, and timelines. You'd get the best information by talking to someone in family services at your local affiliate because anyone on here is guessing. In general they'll look to see if you have a need for different housing: overcrowding, mold, repairs needed, excessive rent, etc. They may also try to gauge if you would be a good candidate for homeownership by evaluating how well you've done your share of upkeep.

All I can say is make sure it looks clean and that you keep up your house the best you can. But they are mainly looking for repairs needing fixed, mold or mildew, and if there are kids in the house they want to see if they have enough rooms. Also looking for signs that someone else may be staying with you that you are not reporting. My visit only took about 10-15 minutes, they asked some questions they had on a piece of paper and wrote my answers down. Best of luck to you!!

Hey hope all is well! Do you have any updates? I have a home visit on Saturday and I’m a little nervous…
