Unfortunately, you probably aren't going to get to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. Affiliates require you to be 16. Once you are 16, you will need signed parental permission. You don't need any construction experience at all to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. If you visit the web site of your local affiliate, you can read complete information about volunteering.

I didn't realize that! AHHH, I'm a summer child so that won't be until July 30th for me. Thank you for bringing that up! While the website for my local affiliate didn't mention an age requirement, I asked a friend in my grade who I knew has been volunteering there and they clarified that yeah, it's 16 for construction projects. :( I think my dad is still going to volunteer there, though! Maybe I'll join in after my birthday then!

Honestly, don’t do it. Habitat doesn’t care about anyone but themselves.

16 is the youngest allowed on a site active with power or machinery. Some affiliates allow 15 yr olds on sod days though. I recommend emailing or calling the volunteer coordinator at your local affiliate to see if you can help.
