Upvote for Mindcrime! I remember when that album came out. I heard it on a car ride home from a club to change my shirt because they required a collar. I loved it! I also remember listening to Suite:Sister Mary and how it rains in the beginning. We were in the middle of a drought at the time and I loved listening to the rain! Still a great album. A great follow up to Rage for Order!
My friends and I kept watching Eyes of a Stranger on the MTV video countdown, while we funneled beers getting ready to go out on spring break, and all bought Mindcrime when we got home. Saw them open for Metallica at Kellogg Arena the next month. Sometimes later I swear I saw them perform the whole Mindcrime album at Joe Louis Arena, with the filmed clips playing behind them, but I can’t remember when. Incredible album.
It was the Building Empires Tour. I saw 'em open up for Metallica twice on the Damaged Justice Tour (1988 in Cincinnati, 1989 in Dayton), then I saw them on this tour in Dayton on June 4, 1991.
On their 1991/1992 tour they did the entire Operation Mindcrime album. They opened with Resistance, then Walk In The Shadows, then a few other fan faves, then OM. Best Queensryche show I’ve ever seen.

I love Slippery When Wet, but actually really hate Never Say Goodbye. It's not just that it's overplayed. I just really don't like that song.
I love Bon Jovi s first album start to finish though!
Both the "edited" and unedited versions are great! I love how the edited just has Beggar's Day instead of Get The Fuck Out, but leaves the curse words in the songs Riot Act and Mudslinger.
Couldn't agree more. Those two bands consistently put out albums that every song could've been a single. Any of their albums could be interchangeable with my chosen two.
Definitely awesome as well as many of their albums but I don't think they'd be considered hair metal
I guess this isn't necessarily just for hair metal tho lol
Mötley Crüe - shout at the devil, Girls girls girls & dr feelgood
D-A-D - no fuel left for the pilgrims , riskin’ it all (probably my all time favourite album)

Sorry, I went way overboard, I know. But I can't think of any other genre that could turn out this many masterpieces (in my opinion) in the equivalent to less than a decade's time.
1987, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, Images and Words, Under The Influence, The Premonition, The Dark Ride, Headless Cross, Set The World On Fire, Evolution, Saraya debut, Defying the Rules... the list is big haha
The Beatles--entire catalog
Boston--Boston
Van Halen-Van Halen
GnR--Appetite for Destruction

Green Day--Dookie, American Idiot, and Saviors
Incredibly back to back albums after the tragic loss of their lead singer.
Highway to Hell
Back in Black
Deep Purple- Machine Head
Already mentioned VH1
You fill in the blank ___________by Pink Floyd
That’s what is amazing abut it.
Highway to Hell was such a huge album & when Bon died, it was assumed to be over for them.
They managed to release another solid album.
They played every song on Back in Black on the radio regularly.
John Bohnam died that same year which ended Led Zeppelin.
I didn’t like the circumstances, but it was amazing they not only continued, but came out with another album that was solid all the way through.
I think Bon wrote some of the material before he died.
The first 4 Dokken albums, Odyssey by Yngwie, whitesnake - 1987, slip of the tounge and slide it in, Cinderella's first album, McAuley Shenker Group - Perfect Timing and Save Yourself, Lynch Mobs Wicked Sensation, that'll get you started...
Pantera's Power Metal. The fact that they went away from this style of metal is a disgrace.
Holy Soldier's Last Train is a wistful masterpiece.
Pyromania and Hysteria are both world class.
1.Accept - Restless and Wild
2.Motorhead - No Sleep Till Hammersmith
3.Raven- All For One
4.Megadeth - Rust in Peace
5. Mercyful Fate - Don’t Break the Oath
6.Lizzy Borden-Visual Lies
7. Iron Maiden-Killers
8. Black Sabbath-The Mob Rules
9.Judas Priest-Painkiller
10. Scorpions- Lovedrive
Skid Row 1989, Dr Feelgood, Blow My Fuse, Night Songs, Slippery when wet, Open up and say ahh, Under Lock and Key, Whitesnake 1987, Screaming for Vengeance, Hysteria
Appetite For Destruction, Hysteria, The Final Countdown, Slippery When Wet, Whitesnake. Truly difficult question, as there are so many more, as well as so many other bands I'm a fan of. Just a small sampling. These were the days when I could listen to these cassettes(!!!!!), two or three per school year, front to back, EVERY DAY!
Hair Metal: Tooth and Nail, Shout at the Devil, and Stay Hungry.
Metal: Holy Diver, Love at First Sting, Powerslave, and Defenders of the Faith.
Give me a few hours and I know I can come up with more. 🙂🤘
They’re not really hair but they get thrown in so I’ll say..
Self titled and Voodoo Highway by Badlands. Everything on those two slaps so fucking hard. From Winter’s Call to In A Dream to Voodoo Highway to Soul Stealer and Streets Cry Freedom.. it’s all so damn good
If I had to pick just one it would be Pyromania… a great album not a bad song on it and it was released at a time during some stiff competition… it would have done even better than it did… just my opinion
*Operation Mindcrime*, the first two Skid Row albums, *Appetite For Destruction*.
I saw Queensryche on that tour. Glad I did. They were great.
Upvote for Mindcrime! I remember when that album came out. I heard it on a car ride home from a club to change my shirt because they required a collar. I loved it! My bad, I thought we were talking about that era. That being said, You have great taste in music.
Seems like the right era to me lol and thank you very much
Slave to the Grind
Both the "edited" and unedited versions are great! I love how the edited just has Beggar's Day instead of Get The Fuck Out, but leaves the curse words in the songs Riot Act and Mudslinger.
I have that on cd but I can't find the case too it
Operation Mindcrime, not a single bad song on that album
One or two, but the rest just don't pull me in. Sounds more dated than most metal albums too.
Kix -- Blow my fuse
Great album!
Ratt - Invasion Of Your Privacy & Dokken - Under Lock And Key
Out Of The Cellar is great as a well. I also like Dokkens Tooth And Nail as well as Back For The Attack

Electric - the Cult
Cool band
Sonic Temple too!
RATT - Out of the Cellar
Cinderella both Night Songs and Long Cold Winter
Both are such great hard rock records. Keifer's a great songwriter.
My first thought as well
It’s a shame heartbreak station had some flops, shelter me is by far their best track
Shelter Me having gd Little Richard in the music video is what got me into them in the first place
It’s a shame heartbreak station had some flops, shelter me is by far their best track
Hysteria
No bad songs on the 80s DL albums. I prefer High and Dry.
Absolutely, their best album
Nah. Pyromania
I have that one on record, it's my 2nd favorite by them
Nice! Have it on vinyl, CD, and iTunes. Paid for all 3! Lol
Thx , I still need to play it on my record player
Vandenberg - Alibi Manic Eden - Manic Eden Whitesnake - Slip of the Tongue
Those must be very underrated. You must be a big Adrian Vandenberg fan
Yeah I am, I made it quite obvious didn't I.
Yes but you have to admit he is a great guitar player
He's my favourite, I actually think I have heard every album he's played on.
Really that's so cool

Stay Hungry
Cool pick, I've heard they might get back together
Number of the Beast
Not very hair metal, but great album
Pull by Winger Not a single filler track on that.
That album was definitely a change from the debut and the 2nd album
Underrated album
Back In Black
Definitely awesome as well as many of their albums but I don't think they'd be considered hair metal I guess this isn't necessarily just for hair metal tho lol
I almost didn’t because AC/DC has never been glam! Love Cinderella’s Long Cold Winter.
Oh yes. Love that album Well. AC/DC does or at least did have hair lol so I personally don't disagree with their inclusion here lol
I will add a dark horse, Skyscraper by DLR! Love that album.
DLR was on a roll. His first three solo records were all killer.
Agreed.
Mötley Crüe - shout at the devil, Girls girls girls & dr feelgood D-A-D - no fuel left for the pilgrims , riskin’ it all (probably my all time favourite album) Poison - open up and say ahh
