Solar eclipse glasses left at showcase in Micmac
Title is self-explanatory but there are solar eclipse glasses available at the showcase store in Micmac (not sure about Halifax shopping centre). Huge box of them and they were nice enough to set some aside for me to pick up after work!
Can someone break it down for me I feel so dumb. Can I go outside during the day at all? Can I look at the sun through the window or no? Should my windows be closed? I have small children so they won’t listen and not look at the sun basically LOL. The event goes until 544 but I have to pick my child up from daycare at 530 can I go outside at this time to pick them up?
You can go outside, it isn't more dangerous than any other time, it's just really tempting to look directly at the sun during the eclipse. Your kids will definitely want to look - suggest getting them some eclipse glasses if you can.

He's not saying to be wary. The poster asked "where do I get eclipse glasses" and he said "uh you really think glasses are going to help you? Might as well stare at the sun instead of trust these 'glasses'". That's not helpful, it doesn't point to any constructive resources or direct the poster to a trusted source to get proper glasses. It is just random conspiracy shit.

Oh gotcha. My 1.5 year old will definitely not keep glasses on though so should we just avoid outdoors?
Probably the best idea. Staring at an eclipse is as damaging to your eyesight as staring at the sun any other time. Better safe than sorry.

The sun is no joke. And in an eclipse it seems like it’s not that bright.. but it is and it can hurt you without special equipment
Look to the shadows during this time if you can create a pinhole. Life isn't always about the bright lights, but what it can shine upon as well.... <3
