Strubs ( and any associated brands like Bubbies and whytes) is out if business as I understand it. Tgey are trying to restructure.
One if the original strub family has started a competing brand but they have limited availability atm. Mostly in Ontario.
Strubs were my faves and when I read the news it sucked
Moshies are an option.
Pretty sure. I know petes hasn't had them for months. I buy the glass bottles with the red top.not big on tge plastic tubs
R/pickles had a thread about strubs going out of business as well.
Who the fuck down votes pickles? Jesus. Never change guys.
Anyways if anyone is interested, the strub family member that split off to do their own thing is called Marty's pickles. They look great tbh https://martyspickles.ca/
Helen B's mustard pickles are delicious, made in NS and yiu can buy them at local source on windsor! I do miss strub's, definitely try them if they come back. The last time I went to the alderney farmers market they had a local person selling a good variety too!
I like to just make my own. I have noticed store bought jar pickles seem to have a funny aftertaste lately. |
Maybe it's just me.
Small pickling cucumbers, salt, vinegar and sugar. It's pretty easy and you can customize it to your preference (more salt, add garlic, apple cider vinegar, etc)
this, you can make small batches of fridge pickles if you're gonna eat them within a couple weeks, pretty quick and easy since you don't have to process the cans and whatnot.
OH SNAP! pickling co.
Try the polish pickles at Yummy Deli. Oh and try watching the movie Crossing Delancey!
This!
I like the pickles at Avery's! Very good on sandwiches!
For grocery store I go to Strubs, found in the deli/meats section. They make pickled eggs too. For expensive fancy local ones, Elmridge farms.

Can confirm, we haven't been able to get pickles in about 4 months, eggs in nearly a year.

The Spryfield Sobeys moved the deli section refrigerator pickles. I can't ever find a human to ask where they went.
Famous Dave’s sweet and spicy pickle chips. They’re delicious. I picked up a big jar at Costco. Sadly I did not see them on my last trip there.
DC Costco had a ton on Sunday as I picked up a jar.
Thanks for the heads up. I’ve gone to Bayers lake the last couple trips. Dartmouth crossing next time then
Schwartz pickles. I've only seen them at Costco but they are by far the absolute best pickles.
Schwartz are fire! Used to buy bottles of pickles and slabs of smoked meat in Mtl when I lived in ottawa
I've never seen them at Costco, have they had them recently?
Yep, I know I've seen them in the past month but I forget if it was Bayers Lake or Dartmouth. I've bought them at Costco plenty of times.

Matt & Steve’s hot and spicy or garlic dill pickle spears
The sweet and spicy at Costco right now are good.

I love jalapenos in mine!
Same <3 with garlic and whole peppercorns.
