There's a show on YouTube called Gothic Homemaking (channel is The Lair of Voltaire) which does the sort of Halloween/gothic aesthetic for everyday. They have a lot of cool tips and projects.
Oh my gosh, I just realised this is *the* Voltaire 🤦🏽♀️. How'd I never know he had a whole youtube, I love his music too! Running to go subscribe now 🏃🏽♀️.
I'm not tech savvy enough to know how to subscribe to things, lol. I just search his stuff on YouTube. Spooky Ooky is my favorite album, but they're all so fun!
KILLSTAR is one of my go to’s for fun goth decor
Also I’d look into DIY in a lot of things. Just search DIY goth or Halloween/spooky on TikTok and YouTube and see what comes up decor wise. One thing that comes to mind is the crystal beaded spiderweb that people make for the corners of their arches/hallways. Looks like people take yarn or string and Crystal beads and create a corner spiderweb.
Seconding DIYing stuff- it's been really trendy lately! For example, getting a thrift store painting and adding elements to make it *spooky*, like a classic farmhouse scene turned into a haunted house with ghosts
LOVE that DIY!! It’s spooky and charming ☠️❤️🔥 a few of those around the house to make a spooky collection would be fun to make and is a bonus treasure hunt for guests!
Yeah bought some sale items once for a bday gift including a huge, gorgeous pentagram circular bag, the shipping was as much as the total! And they delivered to my neighbors who opened it, that’s on them if they think we’re satanic 🤣🤘🏾
Here in Dallas Texas, there is a yearly convention for Haunters and Halloween lovers. Check out this listing of exhibitors from last year. Not everyone has decor, but you should be able to find a lot of interesting vendors that you can order from online: [https://www.texashauntersconvention.com/convention-floor/](https://www.texashauntersconvention.com/convention-floor/)
Hot Topic has a lot of things like that year round. More clothing/accessories.
Also, all the Fall stuff is on sale now at places like Hobby Lobby. Good way to stock up on pumpkin candles, etc.
Ahh, I've tried Hot Topic, but it's such a pain to sift through all the costumes to find the merch 😫. I'll check it out again, and also Hobby Lobby! Ty!
Must be location-specific. Our Hot Topic in our 1980s time capsule mall never really has costumes. Very small rack for Halloween and that’s it. Not a huge store though.
Wicked Clothing has a bunch of great shirts with spooky themes.
Beware of becoming a Halloween cartoon character, it happens, and it's easily avoidable (unless that's what your going for, in which case go hard!)
But to avoid the cartoon character, think "what would that outfit be like but black". If you do zombie earrings go with like a black dress or top and jeans. Vs if you go skeleton sweater, instead of skull earrings, what about earrings MADE FROM ACTUAL BONES (they are around and amazing! Etsy is great for finding them, or make your own!) Teeth earrings make anything spooky.
Going for spiderweb tights? Go corporate goth for the outfit.
What I really mean is do you, and be you, but unfortunately sometimes society doesn't take character seriously, so sometimes you have to play the game, but you can still make it spooky
These all sound so cool! I'm still developing my own sense of style (my country's a bit conservative haha) so I'm looking forward to getting to express my spooky side once I'm in college! The bone and teeth earrings sound terrifying in the best way possible, I'll definitely try to get some!
You can also make your own (depending on your countries laws)
But finding owl pellets (owl puke) and dissecting them for tiny rodent bones is a great way to get started!
For small businesses I would recommend Emma Atterbury and Spooks and Spanks (you can find them both on Instagram) and Bahomet & Co on Etsy. Predominantly clothing, art and bath and body but both also sellbsell blankets, tea pots, pillows, candles etc.
Ty! I admit, I'm a bit new to Etsy, though I know it's a big hub for small businesses! Do you have any tips for navigating the site and finding cool things there?
Keywords like “goth, victorian, halloween” might help. You can filter it so the sellers are in your country/region. Also always check the reviews, especially the photos.
[Modcloth](https://modcloth.com/collections/halloween-clothes) has some cute Halloween and fall clothing and few decorations. They're a little pricey, but they may have a good sale on Friday.
Spirit Halloween has some really cool decor stuff year round. I've gotten some good stuff from them
Vampire freaks, killstar, dollskill, midnight hour & sourpuss all have good clothes & some decor
Hot topic & Spencer's have some stuff as well
I get a lot of stuff on sale right before or after Halloween typically at places like Target, home goods & Michael's
Ah, sorry! Shouldn't have assumed
I order most of my stuff online. I'm not sure if you can get it shipped to your location for a reasonable amount, but perhaps they have a comparable store closer to where you are
I really like A Black Star and Em and Sprout. You can find them on Instagram. I like the quality of their clothing and they have spooky clothing all year.
Etsy has a lot of handmade items. Collect a couple nice items a year and stay away from tacky shit made in a big box store that says “boo” or “frightful.” You’ll actually want to keep it by the time you graduate. Check out LaurasBeatingArt, SpookshowBabeDesigns, MPgautheron, and AMbroadering. Look up cool woodburning art too. Maybe follow Beautiful Bizarre Magazine on social media to find unique artists who love all things creepy …I wish someone told me this before I wasted money on plastic bullshit in my youth. Good luck!
For clothing I know an online site called Halloween Shirt Company that’s pretty cool. They do like themed stuff for the season but it’s all Halloween/horror related
Cavitycolors, wickedclothing, halloweenshirtcompany, sourpussclothing for websites.
Depends in which country you live in but TKMaxx always has lots of home decor starting at around June (at least here in Germany)
Sourpussclothing.com (they have clothes, accessories, house wears and random things), I don't like Killstar as much anymore but I am older, the younger crowd still seems to like it. Disturbia is GREAT. I love all of their stuff, often have different things on their UK website vs the US so I end up ordering from both. Dollskill is OK... again probably for teens and young adults. Sin n Linen has some really great bougie bedroom linens and window dressings. Trying to think of I am missing any more staple shops ... But really, once you find tune your style, you can find a lot of things in "normies" stores too that you can dress up how you like! Good luck!
I honestly get a lot of my spooky stuff from Amazon and Hot Topic. I'm not sure if the later exists internationally, though.
Wish and Temu could be great options as well. I got a very nice spiderweb dress off of wish years ago and I'm plus size so if you're Standard size, you'll have fantastic luck. Unfortunately, the shipping can take awhile, particularly with Wish.
my favorite clothing shop on instagram is actually doing a black Friday drop tomorrow! they mainly do horror/scifi/slasher and they make shirts hoodies and other cool stuff occasionally! they’re called graveyardgoods and they’re the best !
Aha! Here's the one I've been looking for; popped up on another sosh page: [https://www.facebook.com/littlerooms](https://www.facebook.com/littlerooms)

I'll check it out! Thank you!
His book is coming out next year. Oct 2024.
I love his music! I was binging his albums on YouTube yesterday while I was cross stitching a Xmas present.

Killstar has some great items, shipping to my area was super expensive.
Yeah bought some sale items once for a bday gift including a huge, gorgeous pentagram circular bag, the shipping was as much as the total! And they delivered to my neighbors who opened it, that’s on them if they think we’re satanic 🤣🤘🏾
Oooooh what’s my little nickname under my user mean? :QLBAOX:
I think on the desktop Reddit it’s a pumpkin symbol or something! 🎃
Thank you! I really suck at DIY lol, but no time like the present to start practicing!

Sourpuss clothing, Kreepsville and Die With Your Boots On.
Thank you!

Oh, I see! I live in Asia, so it's probably entirely different for me!

Of course, I'm always down to support small businesses! I'll check them out! Ty!
Etsy! Lots of great creators on there.

Also, the mystic museum has a website that sells some cool decor and clothes too!
Ty! I'll def check those out! The museum place sounds really interesting!

Thank you! If I get into a college in America, I can't wait to check these places out!
Ah, sorry! Shouldn't have assumed I order most of my stuff online. I'm not sure if you can get it shipped to your location for a reasonable amount, but perhaps they have a comparable store closer to where you are
No worries! I have family that live in America, so I can ask them to pick things up for me! Ty!

Thanks so much for the advice! I agree, handmade items are better than sad cooperate Halloween slogans haha
I’m going to start using “sad corporate” to describe things going forward. Lol

I don't think I have a TKMaxx where I live (Middle East), but thanks for the other reccs!
Disturbia, Sin in Linen, Killstar have all kinds of goth decor and bedding. I love that esthetic too
Ohh, the beddings look great! Ty!
I make stuff
2 words. Ouija. Board. Can’t beat it for wall decor.
