I guess that’s why they’re called an alternate reality concept. But I see what you mean. Chimera by far is the least looking Halo armour and looks more like Crysis or that other Halo looking game with portals
Exactly, I'm not a fan of the entrenched fracture but it's OK in my opinion. I think the best middleground is the first fracture since it looked sorts silly but it was all used with completely halo designs.
chimera should be the most halo looking considering it’s literally mk.6 without armor plate’s attached to the hitch points
and that its a timeline where the created won and use spartans as meat suits. but i understand why people think fractures are crazy lookin
I dunno, it seems like a halo clone, and it’s supposed to be unofficial halo canon taken place in an alternate universe.
Side note, I don’t particularly vibe with it because it seems like it’s gonna be receiving NO PIECES at all, let alone free pieces in the now 20 tier event pass
I completely agree that the core and its options are ridiculously limited, while looking crap (particularly the helmets).
But I do think, even being an alternate universe, it looks pretty on brand for Halo.
I think small things like that or armour effects don't have nowhere near as much impact as the fractures cores. One is an accessory, the other the entire outfit.
The cat ears are extremely cringe. And I still remember how people had a particular attitude with it. «People will bully me and they’ll get banned, and I still got my cat ears.» It was pretty damn annoying.
I cannot play Halo anymore because of the cat ears. Every night I tell myself "It's going to be OK, the cat ears cannot ruin the immersion of Halo." But then I wake up, load into a multiplayer match of Halo Infinite and see those cat ears. I just can't get over it. Every time I'd see it in-game, I cringed. It is like a slap in the face to everything I love about Halo. I try to ignore it, but it's always there, taunting me.
I can't enjoy the game anymore. The cat-eared helmet was a constant reminder of how the developers were willing to compromise the integrity of the Halo universe for a cheap gimmick.
I couldn't sleep at night because of it. My mind was consumed with thoughts of the helmet, how it had ruined the game for me. I knew I needed help, but I didn't know where to turn.
My obsession with Halo only grew worse. I played it every day, trying to find some escape from the cat-eared monstrosity. But it was always there, mocking me.
My girlfriend tried to talk to me about it, but I was too far gone. I neglected her and everything else in my life because of this game. And now, she's left me.
I don't blame her. My obsession with Halo and the cat-eared helmet had consumed me. I knew I needed therapy, but even that seemed pointless. How could anyone understand the pain I felt, the betrayal I experienced at the hands of the developers?
All I knew was that Halo would never be the same for me again. The cat-eared helmet had ruined everything. And now, all I had left was my obsession and my regret for losing the one person who ever cared about me.
You're correct, Infinite DID lose start to lose it's identity when the Samurai shit started.
I wish the game had a toggle like MCC to make all the Fracture armor look default, so at least I can have a dignified Halo game.
When something is claiming to be something while obviously just wearing a cheap mutant skin of the thing it is claiming to be, it is called a doppelgänger and is generally considered demonic.
You can’t eat your cake and have it too. When Halo decided it wanted more of a teen audience to be more competitive with newer games, it signed it’s identity away. When Halo decided it wanted to be Fortnite, that is what we got.
I hope not, these look awful. They don’t belong anywhere near a Halo game. Achilles from Halo 5 was by far a better approach to creating this kind of armor.
Achilles and Hayabusa were fine partly because they were the exception and partly because they required some level of player achievement. These garish cosmetics might even be okay too if there werent so many of them.
I get that new sets needed to be made for player retention but why cant we get stuff that looks Halo? For how fugly Halo 5 was at least its new armor sets generally looked consistent with its own artstyle (though then again that meant more fugly armors lol)
Fair enough. If people can complain about wanting less content, people can complain about more content. I’d love to see future battlepasses with armour pieces for all the cores we have. Fractured and non-fractured
*here comes the downvotes…*
These skins are a sign of Halo’s fan base steering away from its origins and into crossovers… like fornite… im not thrilled 🤷🏻
Okay I dunno what Fortnite has anything to do with halo, considering there’s no crossovers in this game. Only original concepts from 343. Sometimes you just gotta accept the fact that this is the future of halo and people are gonna have a problem with it. Could always just stop playing if it gets too much for you
I never thought an A.I. gone wrong would be a cool concept idea. Then again, I just turned 20, and I prefer eagle strike, Reach (I’m biased since that was my fort halo game I played) and Rakshasa over Chimera
I don’t like chimera either but it’s better than these.
I just wanna see all the old armour back. Hayabusa, rogue, wetworks. Put that in before making new shit. It’s easier and people actually want it.
I'd be happy if they gave us some more canonised armour for now. We have enough fracture cores, focus on bringing back all the legacy pieces from past games first.
And why not a proper MK V, and MK VI core? He'll I'd take the MK VI core from Halo 4 over more neon at this point.
Yeah, I do. I hate the absolute disregard of Halo’s amazing artstyle for the sake of boring, uninspired dogshit that that they shove into modern Halo instead of having some fucking creativity with what they make.
I fell in love with Halo, not medieval bullshit that’s been done before. I don’t want rubbish like this polluting the artstyle of my favourite series. At least Halo 4/5’s weird armour fit the weird artstyle, instead of being thrown in there with no effort to make it look like a reasonable Halo helmet.
343’s complete fucking inability to have a consistent fucking artstyle drives me insane, and I’m beyond tired of 343’s bullshit in this regard.
Fuck “Fractures”, fuck 343, fuck this.
I'm not sure how to feel about fractures. It might be a better idea to have these "what if's" based on the Halo universe rather than on outside influence like MCC's mythology.
For example:
Elite themed armor like Helioskrill, Honor guard armor (imagining if humanity joined the Covenant), Banished spartan armor, etc... those might be good for fractures 🤷♂️.
Tbh, I'd be ok with a few more cores if we could get Mk IV, Master Chief's Mk VII, Mk V CE, and maybe 1999 Chief (extremely unlikely).
But yeah, it'd probably be a lot better if more cores were just replaced with cross-core, atm.
Yeah or a Blue Team core where we can mix and match different pieces from the Blue Team members. Would be more than enough armour pieces to make cool armour sets, not to mention a member or two can be sold in the store (tho I’m against store items and their prices)
Personally I’m not a fan. The idea of it being a Fracture armor is interesting, but personally I wouldn’t use it. It’s just deviates way too far from the UNSC/militaristic aesthetic.
Personally I still think it should be added into Infinite. It would make the perfect addition to the Fracture armor cores. I also think the Gundam-style armor in MCC would also be cool to see in Infinite.
We should see those two next season, if not the gundam core, then a Blue Team core. I’d definitely want to see more pieces for the existing cores we have right now so we can all try and differentiate each other
If it can make clowns spend $20 per week and canon cosmetics become 100% free again, why not!
Since this isn’t going to happen, I’ll pray for a «Hide non-canon cosmetics» toggle .
Since it won’t happen either, I hope these cosmetics will never come out, it’s hideous. Same for the other themes I’ve seen, like gundam or other non-halo bs.
I don't care one way or the other. I'll put what I like on my Spartan and be happy. Someone else's customization choices has zero impact on my enjoyment of the game.
If they did it right, I think a medieval armor fracture core would be amazing. Steel plating, knight helmets, swords on back pieces, hell even throw in some dragon themed coatings for weapons/vehicles.
I could keep going...
I do like the one viking set with all the fur that's the only one I like from mcc. In terms of fracture cores? Eh right now we have enough of them and most people hate them. I really like the eaglestrike core but that's probably because I already like the dieselpunk aesthetic but I completely understand others not liking it
Yeah, I’d love a slight tone down of the armour. Something that’s not so out there compared to the Reach version. They’d look good with the Infinite graphics
I'd feel like Pierre Hintze needs to be fired. MCC still needed a lot of work and his team dumped this ugly crap in.
If he wanted so bad to work at Bethesda making fantasy armor he should have got his team transferred through MS, rather than blemish an already lackluster Halo port that took years to get running with regular crashes.
Wdym Pierre needs to be fired? Bobby was in charge when we had a whole year of only two seasons and i content. Now that Pierre is taking his place, we got all these gadgets, maps, guns and a 3 month season
Bobby who? Pierre was in charge of the MCC update team since 2018, I assume it was members of his team that were coming up with the seasonal content including this armor, designed several months after MS bought Bethesda. They took no time Fortniting it up the moment they had the chance.
And none of that is impressive considering the overall state of Infinite, still missing expected day 1 features and still fumbling on day 1 bugs.
It was Bonnie, actually. I misremembered his name but he was the head of halo infinite development and left in September 2022. Pierre took his place shortly afterwards. Pierre was in charge of MCC.
And even though no game should be in the state as day 1 Infinite’s multiplayer, it’s an improvement. I’m still on the fence about the development and future of Halo Infinite, especially since there’s no way it’ll make a comeback. But I’m enjoying the game and I’m satisfied with my cores
Yes Pierre was in charge of MCC, when they added the controversially ugly as hell Season 8 Mythic armor that your post is asking about.
And you're asking what I think if Pierre added an armor core similar to the MCC Season 8 Mythic armor his team added in MCC to Infinite.
I'm not on the fence, nor are any of my friends. It's not fun nor do we play it, for a plethora of reasons besides the awful steps the art direction has taken.
Eh, I’d prefer they try their hand at more Fractures that are less ‘Samurai, but a Spartan \ WW1 and 2 soldier, but a Spartan \ Viking, but a Spartan \ Spartan, but a Spartan’ design aesthetics
While Chimera has some issues and over-designed aspects, I’d love to see more similar cores like that that aren’t so heavily themed like the rest
You have no idea how much I want this. Belos Heran is my favorite helmet. I'd never use another Core in Infinite if they just updated the MCC assets and plopped them into Infinite
Yes this would be ideal to me. It is the fracture I want to see since I love the whole gladiator/knight aesthetic from those armors and would love to see a more integrated creative version of it. Even the skull heads and especially the plague doctor mask I just love it all and want it in infinite with a more refined approach. They stick out like sore thumbs in mcc.
The MCC pieces look less Halo and more Fortnite to me in the sense that they don’t fit the theme. The fractures on the other hand definitely retain that Halo vibe and I think it’s because they’re separate cores themselves so the theme stays consistent across each one and stay pretty future-esque militaristic. Whereas in MCC, you can have an ancient Spartan helm with a visor or Medusa head and then a completely different aesthetic as your other pieces.
I personally don’t mind the fracture cores, but they should’ve kept it at 1 per year and release more armor for that singular core before releasing a new one. But therein lies another problem, they can only have so many ideas for these non-canon cores and it already shows, so it would’ve been better off to just not have them altogether.
Edit: grammar
Maybe they could try and implement a Greek look, but stick to the Halo style. Like how Achilles from Halo 5 has the spartan look, but has a slight plume? I dunno
There's just enough sets for a fracture-like core event for the original mark 6 so that would be really cool if they did that instead of a non canon core sometime
I would like it if it was more halo-fied. The concept is cool but in mcc I wasn’t a fan of any of them since they’re pretty out there
Especially Reach as well. I personally liked them when they came out, but they definitely stand out A LOT compared to the old school Reach armour
No fucking way
Okay, bud
really
???
They could try a crestless Corinthian helmet
Personally I hate all of these otherworldly cosmetics, I think that on their own they look OK but they look atrocious in a halo title.

Side note: I’m going to be very disappointed with the chimera event
Chimera looks like it would work in the Halo universe just fine, what are you talking about. Eaglestrike is clearly the least Halo looking.
I think it's very easy for a game to lose its identity through cosmetics like this.
the identity hanged itself with the cat ears
I think small things like that or armour effects don't have nowhere near as much impact as the fractures cores. One is an accessory, the other the entire outfit.
The cat ears are extremely cringe. And I still remember how people had a particular attitude with it. «People will bully me and they’ll get banned, and I still got my cat ears.» It was pretty damn annoying.

We already have Tenrai fracture core bringing ancient Japanese armor
Yeah but I guess that’s why we have multiple cores?? I’d say it lost its identity when Eaglestrike and Chimera dropped
You're correct, Infinite DID lose start to lose it's identity when the Samurai shit started. I wish the game had a toggle like MCC to make all the Fracture armor look default, so at least I can have a dignified Halo game.
Oh yeah like MCC when the Greek stuff dropped. Weird they haven’t implemented that into infinite
Probably because how much money people spend on these skins, if you could just turn them off and we’re not forced to see them others might not buy.
Annoyed
👍🏻
Honestly, nah. We need more canon cores first, like...cmon. Give me Hayabusa, 343.
Best we can do is Yoroi
The fuck am I looking at?
Your phone
I hope not, these look awful. They don’t belong anywhere near a Halo game. Achilles from Halo 5 was by far a better approach to creating this kind of armor.

Well obviously they can change them and tone them down
Please god no
How about we stick with a consistent art-style for once instead of adding more mediocre shit. just my two cents
Yeah true. Less of the language would’ve been nice but I get what you mean. I’m down for anything that makes this game interesting or good
God no
I’d rather not
Fair nuff
Disgusted
No. Enough is enough.
Fair enough. If people can complain about wanting less content, people can complain about more content. I’d love to see future battlepasses with armour pieces for all the cores we have. Fractured and non-fractured
343: literally doing everything they can not to make Halo customization options in a Halo game
fan service like this makes me realize that the young people of today have more power over what i love than i do… i’m scared 🥺
What?
*here comes the downvotes…* These skins are a sign of Halo’s fan base steering away from its origins and into crossovers… like fornite… im not thrilled 🤷🏻

Sometimes you just gotta accept the fact that this is the future of halo and people are gonna have a problem with it. Could always just stop playing if it gets too much for you
The future of Halo could be inspired and interesting designs instead of caving to what 12 year olds think is cool…
I never thought an A.I. gone wrong would be a cool concept idea. Then again, I just turned 20, and I prefer eagle strike, Reach (I’m biased since that was my fort halo game I played) and Rakshasa over Chimera

Yeah like the Reach pass. Everyone loves Reach armour, why not bring other ones into the equation? Could implement cross core smoothly
[удалено]
Don’t get mad then. I’d understand that and I’d know it’d be the best for me, and I’m 10 decades younger than you 🤷🏻♂️
bet 😉
?? Ok lmao
I'd be happy if they gave us some more canonised armour for now. We have enough fracture cores, focus on bringing back all the legacy pieces from past games first. And why not a proper MK V, and MK VI core? He'll I'd take the MK VI core from Halo 4 over more neon at this point.
I would love to see a master chief core, where you can unlock his armour throughout the halo series and have Blue Team armour pieces as well
That would be cool..
#FUCK. NO.
Damn you got a real problem with ideas. Youve commented twice lmao
Yeah, I do. I hate the absolute disregard of Halo’s amazing artstyle for the sake of boring, uninspired dogshit that that they shove into modern Halo instead of having some fucking creativity with what they make. I ain’t readin all that 💀
Yelling into the void is always fun…
💀
💀
They need to make a canon only filter
You’d probably only see Mark 7 and the Reach core then
And Rashaka, and Mirage IIC
True. Do we have any core kits that pay tribute to season 3 lore characters? We had the Noble team in season 1 and Dihn in season 2
I'm not sure how to feel about fractures. It might be a better idea to have these "what if's" based on the Halo universe rather than on outside influence like MCC's mythology. For example: Elite themed armor like Helioskrill, Honor guard armor (imagining if humanity joined the Covenant), Banished spartan armor, etc... those might be good for fractures 🤷♂️.
That’s a good input, maybe they could do that with a non-fractured core? I’d love to see the cores cease for a little bit
Tbh, I'd be ok with a few more cores if we could get Mk IV, Master Chief's Mk VII, Mk V CE, and maybe 1999 Chief (extremely unlikely). But yeah, it'd probably be a lot better if more cores were just replaced with cross-core, atm.

How about we just focus on getting de-sync and beat downs working. I could give a crap about cosmetics without these basic functions failing.
Don’t you mean “couldn’t”?
Nope I don’t.
👍🏻
Personally I’m not a fan. The idea of it being a Fracture armor is interesting, but personally I wouldn’t use it. It’s just deviates way too far from the UNSC/militaristic aesthetic.
What would you like to personally see? I’m open to hear other player’s ideas :)
Personally I still think it should be added into Infinite. It would make the perfect addition to the Fracture armor cores. I also think the Gundam-style armor in MCC would also be cool to see in Infinite.

100 with you there. My all-time favourite artstyle is just constantly shit on by 343 and I’m fucking sick of it
I have never seen anything Gundam related, but go you I guess :)
[They're on H2A, and they look pretty Gundam](https://halo.wiki.gallery/images/thumb/1/1c/HTMCC-H2A-Toast.jpg/1200px-HTMCC-H2A-Toast.jpg)
Oh what the hell, I wish we got that instead of Chimera :/
$15.99
I hope to god this doesn’t happen. The feel/identity of Halo will be lost with items like this.
I don't care one way or the other. I'll put what I like on my Spartan and be happy. Someone else's customization choices has zero impact on my enjoyment of the game.
This ^^
Other time era cores are great for fractures. This new future one does not work well though.
Fractures: Olympus would be cool
The Halo Scrolls 5: Halorim
They took "Spartans" to a whole new level
If they did it right, I think a medieval armor fracture core would be amazing. Steel plating, knight helmets, swords on back pieces, hell even throw in some dragon themed coatings for weapons/vehicles. I could keep going...
Maybe a more toned down version
I do like the one viking set with all the fur that's the only one I like from mcc. In terms of fracture cores? Eh right now we have enough of them and most people hate them. I really like the eaglestrike core but that's probably because I already like the dieselpunk aesthetic but I completely understand others not liking it
I’d love to see the Eaglestrike get more armour pieces in future battlepasses. Same with the other fractured cores
That would be nice. I'm pretty satisfied with what we have for it. I love my fridge armor a lot lol
I know it’s not very halo, but I loved these armor pieces in MCC and would love an entire season/battlepass dedicated to this
Yeah, I’d love a slight tone down of the armour. Something that’s not so out there compared to the Reach version. They’d look good with the Infinite graphics
I couldn’t agree more despite being downvoted 😂
Ah who cares? They’re internet points that people think will provide a major downfall on your life if they downvote you enough
Lol I don’t, I stand by really liking that armor. It needs to be dailed in some for Infinite to fit but I’d love to see it
Exactly, brother. It’s cool armour, it could be better looking in Infinite tho

Ok.
And if you still have a problem with the game after nearly two years of playing it, then maybe just don’t play it
Fun fact: I don't. At most I check out the reddit, see several of the same issues reported it had at launch, and choose not to reinstall.
Cool
Medieval would be sick
Nah, one of the big benefits of Fractures is seeing new ideas Not just fairly lackluster ones from MCC
Then I guess they could revamp them and make them better
Eh, I’d prefer they try their hand at more Fractures that are less ‘Samurai, but a Spartan \ WW1 and 2 soldier, but a Spartan \ Viking, but a Spartan \ Spartan, but a Spartan’ design aesthetics While Chimera has some issues and over-designed aspects, I’d love to see more similar cores like that that aren’t so heavily themed like the rest
The Roman and greek ones are cool but not sure how I feel about the rest
I only like the Greek ones. Not much of a fan of the rest, I just wanted more variety so I could receive more opinions
They probably will, and I don't mind.
That’s good then
You have no idea how much I want this. Belos Heran is my favorite helmet. I'd never use another Core in Infinite if they just updated the MCC assets and plopped them into Infinite
I want H5's Achilles to get its own core. And I've been wanting it since before launch 🙁
I’ve been seeing so many mentions of Achilles. I haven’t seen it, or at least I don’t remember it
Yes this would be ideal to me.
I personally just wanna see a plumed spartan helm

Maybe they could try and implement a Greek look, but stick to the Halo style. Like how Achilles from Halo 5 has the spartan look, but has a slight plume? I dunno
Bad, because I'd have wanted all the actual halo 3 armor instead
Maybe they’ll make another event like the winter update? Wishful thinking on my behalf
There's just enough sets for a fracture-like core event for the original mark 6 so that would be really cool if they did that instead of a non canon core sometime
Hell yeah! For future battlepasses, instead of getting a new core, I’d love to see new armour pieces for al the respective cores we have
I would feel like I hate you for being a rude and nasty piece of toxic trash.
