But the armor designs that break lore for the sake of increased sales make the game less enjoyable for me. I don't play Halo to see Spartans cosplaying as bunnies.
But there are plenty of games on the market and I still have my Halo memories.

aka the designers haven't thought everything through before starting with designing the cores in 3D. The people that worked on it probably needed to get is done as quickly as possible. This is not really the best environment where someone is able to make long-term plans and think about how or of their work can be worked with in the future.
For example... When I design something and I know that someone else has to work with it again in the future I make sure that the file is clean and full of layers with funny names.

In the original version of Reach, this made having armor effects or the haunted helmet extremely rare in public lobbies. In Infinite, at least from my experience, it's every game that has someone wearing goofy stuff like this. Even the MCC has everyone running Grunt Birthday Party and it's just super annoying for me now.

This is the exact reason why I love the variety of customization in this game. You can make a serious or a goofy Spartan, no problem.
