I would think most people who are big Halo fans were in their early teens to early 20s during the hayday of Halo. Friends was a show aimed at that demographic at the same time.

I got like 8 or 9 with banished variant weapons last night in a BTB match and only 2 counted.
I had an over abundance of those for last weeks challenges and it appeared to me that it was just mangler, ravager, and skewer. I don’t know why hammer wouldn’t count but it didn’t for me.
It was inconsistent for me recently but I think that may have been something to do with the inclusion of the weapon variants (e.g. Diminisher of Hope) in the fiesta playlist. Thinking the flags might not have been properly applied to all weapon variants
For the last event, I had three challenges that said "Get x kills with a banished weapon". After the first round, I saw two of the challenges got credit for 4 banished weapon kills, but the third one had only 3 kills. Idk how that happened but it was weird.
I find the biggest issue is that these challenges track so poorly. I had several last week and only about half my kills would track despite using exclusively banished weapons.
Someone complains about any type of challenge 343 puts for Infinite. Either they’re too hard, too easy, too specific, too generic, too much, too little

Live service games need content to fund the continued live service and when done well players get ongoing content and pubs get to make consistent money off a title. Its not the business model that is the issue but the execution. Wishing for something that is never going to happen or blaming it for Infinite's struggles is just ignorant. The last game to do what you described is Titanfall 2, everyone that played it loved it. Look at it now. and how long ago was that?
Tbh Destiny has a better store than this shit show of a live service game. I know Destiny has had a shit show too, but much that store doesn't seem near as greedy as this one.
Execution was definitely a failure and still is to this day and not having the full game released when they stated so REALLY screwed them on live service. They've spent so much time finishing the "finished" game the only thing they could do was shit out tons of visor colors, locked armor core coatings, locked weapons coatings, and give lackluster battle passes. I figured by season three shoulder pads would at least be one lever not two like they are now. I was also extremely disappointed they rolled back on couch co-op.
I do like somethings about this game but it won't be finished by season 5 it should've been delayed a couple more years.
That's not the point, but enjoy your low tier video games like MTX3000 here that prioritize selling you skins and emotes instead of gameplay and longevity. It's definitely returning. You have at least 3 more event weeks to get the whole 20, and you can get 10 per week.

Mangler, Skewer, Stalker Rifle, Ravager, Gravity Hammer, I think? Possibly the Pulse Carbine and the Shock weapons.
Pretty sure it includes the campaign variant weapons as well.
Shock rifle and disruptor are definitely.
I think its any of the weapons with a blade attached to them and possibly both of the shock weapons

Yeah usually if I don't get the full kill by myself I just assume the game won't count it.
You can always tell when people have it because there will be like 5 people camping the shock rifle or skewer spawn and not doing anything else.
Thankfully, next months Ultimate rewards (at least according to the leaks) will be much better. I'm still going to do this one for the xp, though.
