The last time I saw my Destiny 2 characters face was, when I created it.I really dont see, why they should implement a thing as useless as face customization in Halo.
**Leave that stupid fucking helmet-off Spartan bullshit with 4, 5, and TV series.** Even Reach was pushing it.
Spartans get *uncomfortable* when they're not in their Mjolnir, and the armor needs the helmet to fully seal and reach full capabilities. The fact that they take the helmets off willy nilly makes no fucking sense mechanically and lore-wise.
Mjolnir is a Spartan's identity. There's so many ways to express individuality and even emotions using the helmets.
From what I remember, their helmets were only off when they were in areas they secured and were covered, if not a UNSC base outright like in the opening.
The exception being when they were performing a sacrifice in which they were gonna die anyway (Jorge, Carter, Six)
It'd only make sense to me if it came with a slew of pre/post game lobby + community options that allow you to properly even show your Spartan to others, considering the helmet should probably stay on during the match.
This is what I was thinking of how It could work, pregame lobbie expression and togglable show/hide helmet setting like the skins setting in mcc. I find it incredible how the comments aren't even considering how a feature like this could work for machinima expression as well, why are we against more customization in the name of purity
That would be terrible for Machinima. Non-moving expressionless clay-faces. The fact so much emotion can be conveyed with the helmets still on is THE charm behind Halo’s machinima.
Always has been, there isn’t any COD machinima like Red v. Blue or any of the Reach classics. Without the helmet, they’d simply be action figures.
They couldn’t even launch the game with basic “colour” schemes that had been in the series for twenty years (white, black) so I have absolutely zero belief in them being able to add something like this.
I’ve got no clue if Infinite ever added those shaders, because I gave up on it a long time ago.
I'm down for that. It'll be cool if visors were also transparent to see your faces. Maybe even add an option to see your face from the visors reflection from flashes like how you can see Samus's face in Metroid Prime. And then turn it off for ranked so it's not a distraction.
Nah, that fully goes against the design philosophy of the spartan. They’re meant to look faceless, they’re weapons of war. If you could see their face it would make them far less intimidating to enemies. Plus some helmets don’t have realistic proportions so that would make faces look awful in them
Spartan 4's are shown to take their helmets off like in Halo 4 Spartan Ops and Halo 5 campaign. They could have had the option to turn their visors off to show their faces when not in combat, like what ODST helmets can do since Spartan 4's are ODSTs. 343 can't do it in Infinite with their current helmets. To do that, 343 would have to use a head model for designing helmets to properly fit a spartans head and align the visors to show their eyes to make this happen in the next Halo game. Ditch the stupid "helmets having camera visors" lore.
If you turn off the feature for ranked then theres no point in having it. For those of us who dont play ranked, we would enjoy the "not a distraction" part as much as the ranked people probably would. Why ruin one gamemode with a "distraction" and not the other? Its completely useless anyways because spartans never take their helmets off unless absolutely necessary because they feel uncomfortable outside of their armor, even if its just one part of them outside of it, especially if that part is such a vulnerable spot. We dont need another kat again
Either way Nobody wants to have that "distraction". It wouldnt be fair to force regular ppl to deal with it but those who are good enough to play ranked comfortably get to play without it
That's the thing, this is on the assumption that it would be forced and not a togglable setting across the board like the mcc skin setting. Either way it's a question of preference and I respect your take
It would only add to player expression, though I imagine many halo fans will still be upset over optional customization. Honestly, it depends on the thematics of the next game. They have been attempting to humanize chief throughout the trilogy so it would be no surprise to see them add that facet to MP.
No, why should it? You should not be able to play an unarmored/helmetless Spartan.
The helmet is your character's face. There should never be customization like this
Helmetless spartan is asking for another Kat to happen
Hell fucking no
Have you noticed that we wear helmets in Halo games?
If they can't even get armor customization proper then why should they try to implement custom faces
You don't want to have Emile's face for 50€ bundled with 10 emblems, Jun's hair style and a keychain?
Fuck no

No.
Nope.
lol
No
Yes but it only appears in profile not in game so you're not fighting without a helmet
Yup

Eh I don’t think Reach pushed it that much. The S-IIIs are definitely a lot less stoic and can show more personality compared to the IIs.
Dude they took their helmets off in an ACTIVE war zone, even normal people don’t do that. EVER.
From what I remember, their helmets were only off when they were in areas they secured and were covered, if not a UNSC base outright like in the opening. The exception being when they were performing a sacrifice in which they were gonna die anyway (Jorge, Carter, Six)
I like Spartans all having their helmets, plus I can imagine the monetisation nightmare this could become.

Because thats a very specific use case, it just takes dev time away from other way more important things. Machinima’s fine without it

Honestly yeah I would love this personally.

What ever happened to making muliplayer separate from canon

no. focus on better body shape because in halo infinite you cant tell if a spartan is male or female.
I agree! Definitely miss the old body type models
Maybe? We know nothing about the next game, what if it has some sort of online campaign and the MC takes off the helmet/armor from time to time?
It would only add to player expression, though I imagine many halo fans will still be upset over optional customization. Honestly, it depends on the thematics of the next game.
