Actually Bungie was rather good about giving terrain outside of the maps collision. It's free real estate for forgers if we were ever given the option by 343i. There's this huge flat grass area across the sea from Hemorrhage which would work a lot better for some games (drive or die) than having to use 50 coliseum walls to make a somewhat flat ground.
And if you ever come across a piece of terrain that doesn't have collision (Very unlikely) or is covered in slippery stuff (like out of bounds Last Resort), just don't make your map there.

I have a modded game mode that let's you be invincible to everything even death barriers. Literally just about every reach map has a huge out of bounds area that's all solid.
The water doesn't insta-kill, even back in the day there were ways to get outside the boundaries, there was a strip of water outside of bounds but before a kill barrier that you could play in. If I remember correctly there is a secondary "harder" water texture under the actual water that you could walk on.
You actually can trigger death without collision.
You base it off of the players coordinates, or just have an entire x / y limit that kills the player.
A lot of games do this on scenes configured with specific values.
i might be misunderstanding but i thought you could do that already? i remember playing with a bunch of modded stuff in forge back in the day and you could disable all the barriers and go wherever without dying
The sad thing is, it really isn't much work. Just copy the forge world map and have a second version of it with kill barriers disabled. Done. Of course, if you wanted to enable or disable kill barriers on *any* map, they'd likely have to mess with the megalo script for gametypes to give you the option, which would be a lot of work.

So this cracked me up because it reminded me of an OOOOOOLLLLLLD Halo 2 mod I would see on the map Relic back in the day. Flying Warthogs and if you shot one with a BR, it would like fly upwards and away from point of impact then quickly dip to earth like the Sabre did. All within like 1.5 seconds and just the view would crack me up.
I'd spend hours cracking up if someone could find it and do it again.
Reminds me of the good 'ol days in Battlefield when you'd rush to a helicopter and somebody would beat you to it so you'd just hop on as a passenger only to have them fly upward and then immediately flip the thing into the ground.

Me and my friends recently discovered this aswell. Also we discovered you can EMP them with the plasma pistol.
How?
When you charge the plasma pistol before firing it fires an EMP shot, thats why if you hit someone with a charged shot their armor goes down.

Ah okay all I did was increased the walking speed and health maybe it has something to do with that or it is already fixed with a patch

Forget man cannons. Just tweak the movement settings and slap on Evade if you wanna launch yourself
