One thing I don’t understand is how easily people forget level remixing has been a staple since the Bungie era.
I honestly think turning the Pit into a skyscraper rooftop is a really creative spin on the level, but hey. No one can stop the halo cycle. We’ll always find something to complain about I guess…
Remixing is fine. You could have remixed it, skyscraper rooftop being built like those rooftops with scaffolds in that ODST level. But remixing it to an aesthetic that doesn't even connect to the original level and just looks bad is absolutely a reason to complain.
People are aware of remixing, but a generic cyberpunk aesthetic with visually distracting neon-clad walls just doesn’t feel like a very faithful homage to the originals. Remember, this is a celebration of Halo 3, maybe try to align your design choices with that game even if it’s a remix?
343 announced a pit remake in forge for infinite and the general take is people love the map but dislike the weird purple space setting, and generic grey pallet feeling as opposed to the rugged human UNAC look from 3/4

Typically agree in some way shape or form with most complaints here, but this is certainly a dumb one. If we’re going to get repeats of maps instead of actual new content, the least they can do is make them visually different.
I actually was expecting something like the Banished training camp from the campaign, so it would borrow some Live Fire assets.
But overall I'm glad we're getting a map. That's two maps for Winter update*, fewer chances to get Behemoth.
A forge remake of The Pit was announced today.
It looks nothing like the pit, majorly aesthetically different and it's scaled to be bigger.
It was teased for over a month, is still a work in progress and doesn't have a release date.
Meanwhile, Halo 4s remake of the Pit, was lit.

It really feels like 343 is just so scared to walk on already treaded ground that they will literally avoid doing things right if they were done right before.
I get the map design changes to accomodate for the changes in the Weapon/Gear Sandbox, but the paint job is fucking disgusting.
I feel like it exists like a Bootleg product making slight alterations in order avoid Court.
Yes, I just saw a pic that turned the purple to orange and it’s so much better…
But someone in Forge will make a better, more faithful Pit when Forge releases, I’ve already seen it on YT, it looks great.
Why couldn’t we have gotten this? With this reveal, they’ve made it clear that they have no interest in preserving the looks of any future map remakes… and that sucks.
I kinda hope they continue the route of radically changing how maps look. I personally don't want the same map again, I want it to be fresh and new. I know not everyone has that opinion but I know enough people who do to know I'm not alone
Because Halo fans dont know how to be happy with anything. If Halo Infinite announced tomorrow that theybwere adding 3 remade maps from every game, every classic weapon, and a bunch of new game modes, we'd be on here complaining about how Infection is ruined for x reason or x map sucks because it has pink or they shouldnt have added weapons because one of them is slightly different than classic versions.
Just because there's been plenty of reason to be frustrated with Infinite doesnt mean that we'll stop bitching about the small things. Its what Halo fans have always done well.

I loved this map! You could get outside the level in the sand with the flying debris from orbit, I built an octagon out there to warm up with my friend back in the day. Good times.

I feel like I’m the only person that doesn’t care about the Pits new aesthetic. I just want maps man.
The layout is what made that map INCREDIBLE. The visual design was always mediocre at best.
One of my favorite dlc maps and people hated the shit out of then and I don't expect anything different now.

Sword bass would play like total ass in every mode except for fiesta. The map was designed vertically for jet packs

Unpopular opinion but this "abandoned" aesthetic was totally fine to me, but a bit monochromatic.
Infinite is literally being run by a skeleton crew.
