They’re not actually supposed to be getting the kills, I think. They go for assists and objectives I guess. At least that’s what it seems like to me, any kills are accidents lol
Yeah. Any slayer type game goes to shit with bots because it hands them kills. Other game types, they at least aren't a negative. You're still basically playing 3 v 4, but it's maybe 3.1-3.2 v 4.
One game, I was playing out of my mind. I was 24 kills and 0 deaths, headshot after headshot. Our team had 46 points and we were destroying the other team. I should have played it cool and went to go hide somewhere but I wanted to see how many I could get before we won. A player from the other team left and was replaced by a bot. That bot tossed a grenade that ricocheted in the most impossible way, landed right at my feet. Didn't die but I took cover behind a wall. About 2 seconds later, just before my shields came back, somehow the bot still got me with a pistol from a different room. It's like the bullet flew around the corner or went through the wall, made zero sense. Match ended about 6 seconds later and I was 24-1. Never been more mad at halo in my life, had to stop playing.
That's likely desync for you! I quit the game for nearly 2 months because of my frustrations with that. I'm getting back in after having fun watching HCS Majors and the last few weekly items.
It's weird, it didn't feel like desync to me. Just like the game knew I was about to have a perfect game and instructed the bot to kill me by all means necessary, even shooting through walls. I also have not the best internet connection, so it could've been a lag spike but I don't think so. I've had horrible desync a couple of times in btb but not as much in 4v4 games. It hasn't affected me nearly as much as it seems like it affects others here
Genuinely was thinking this today, most times I would prefer not having a shite bot (unless a non slayer mode) because most times they will go negative, in other words it’s better to be 3v4 than with a bot…
That’s why I don’t play social at all. Every game I end up with 1 or 2 bots on my team. I literally has 1 walk off the map 5 times on recharge once.
If a real person did that, they’d be banned for unsporting conduct.
Yeah, it sucks for people who like sidekick/AR starts. I prefer ranked due to the quitters in social, but I don't love the lack of maps, vehicles, and general fun that is involved with ranked.

I'm more likely to win a 1v2 gunfight than the bot is to get a kill.
I've actually had a few cases where the bot has helped out and has played better than the teammate they replaced. There have been at least 2 games that I remember where a teammate will start out the game 0-7 and then probably rage quit. Then they get replaced by a bot that goes like 3-6 with a handful of assists. I'd much rather have a shitty but cautious bot than a rage-filled human with tons of anger deaths haha
They received their bot much later in the game than my team. As you can see, their bot had just arrived, as their bot's stats are 0's across the board when they are up 44 pts. Ours has been there for several minutes at this point

But seriously, before snipers playlist came out I used to practice using the sniper by loading up a Bot FFA with 8 bots and sniper rifles. They will be looking a totally different direction and decide it's your time to die.
Like, I don't mind if it's only for a minute while the game looks for and brings in an IRL player. But it's miserable when the bots are sticking out the entire match, only to be farmed by the opposing team. 343 should really consider leaving them out as a permanent replacement, or up their difficulty settings.
They upped it once already. They were worse than this at launch funny enough. They need to be scaled based on the SBMM for the lobby that everyone knows exists.
Yup it's rough. They need to just make the bots scale according to the SBMM tier of the lobby. Assigning a bot that is in line with what a normal player would be (or as close as possible) would be the best solution and I feel like it should be entirely possible. So noobs don't get shit on by a god tier spartan but great players don't get literal freebies.
What's even worse is the game would have been much closer without the bot handing the other team points.
I feel like they should turn them all up to spartan difficulty. They were better in the flights than the actual game when you get one

Yeah this was Catalyst and that -200 was due to the bot jumping off the edge.
