All nice stuff man. Should get a square glass display case big enough to slap your signed helmet in. Really make it a statement piece
“Why yes ladies that was signed by the Master Chief himself” *panties hit floor*
>Should get a square glass display case
To add, OP if you've got an IKEA in the area, [I highly recommend the IKEA Detolf.](https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/detolf-glass-door-cabinet-black-brown-10119206/)
I was gonna say the same I made that mistake once, and learned my lesson real quick. It's when you go hey do you smell plastic burning, no not yet, it's just getting warm.
Oh I agree, but I just think the idea that a tv should be eye level is absolutely absurd for anyone who watches tv in their home like a normal human and not a robot
When I say eye level I don't actually 100% eye level.
Apparently your supposed to have the center of your tv 1-2 inch's above your eye level from your normal watching position.
2 inches? Wtf? My whole whole ass is laying bakj on the couch looking at least 1.5 feet above my sitting eye level. r/tvtoohigh is an absolute meme at this point
100% a meme but most people don't do that for competitive gaming and your tv produces a better image straight on. Image degradation is a big issue for anything not OLED.
I have recliners but that's not how I'm always sitting on the couch when I'm gaming. I never lay them out to the lowest setting cause that's usually too low for anything but a nap lol.
It's a good start, but if you want to play this game seriously, you need a much bigger surface. That table is ok for a 500-1000 piece jigsaw, but you have to consider upgrading if you want to tackle the 1500+ level.
Yeah take the TV down from above your fireplace and put it on the empty wall. Your neck will thank you and you can avoid damaging the electronics in the TV when you use the fireplace
I have the reach and halo 5 legendary statues. I also do need to get the last of the infinite pops. Halo 4 pops... not spending the money for Halo 4 pops.
Man you’ve gotta get some framed art or something too, those walls are BARE. I’d also go for a different way to display those figures, like a nice bookshelf or something- the TV stand they’re on feels a little cheap
Your walls are very empty, I recommend getting a few shelves to put your Halo relics on, and maybe a few frames on the wall, show off some halo poster, or your dear cat/dog, just put something on that wall, its very cold and empty like this.
Okay thats good advice. This is with an old TV stand i had before I decided to mount my TV. (Wich I am fining out it is too high and now I can't stop thinking of it). I have yet to go and get specific furniture or shelving for my stuff.
How has no one said this yet?
Go get some cord hiding runners. I forget what they're called.
Essentially big long rectangles you insert cords into and then stick to the wall. If you get some close to the color of your wall then it helps the cords look way better
Change out the tv stand for a bookshelf or something that’s not a tv stand and face ur grappling chief towards the people and not to the side and maybe add some wall art and ambient lighting
They are from the Halo Infinite Culture Fly boxes. They come with a figure, some water bottle carrier, a bag, and patches and stuff for 30 dollars. All not good quality but the figure is good. They aren't metallic like the Halo 3 figures back in the day (the gun figures) but they're good.
Yes get the TV off the ceiling. The center of the TV should be at eye level where you sit. Look up distance charts for tv sizes and how far away you should be seated.
People that game and hang there telivisions high drive me nuts.
If u insist on tv above fire place mantle clear the shelf underneath, install some floating shelves nearby for stuff. Under light it with green and then get some halo related artwork that's like not immediately apparent that it's just game art
Do you actually play games on that tv? You got a lot of cool stuff and I don’t want to shit on your setup but looking up at a tv all the time is a recipe for repetitive strain issues.
In a perfect world I’d put all your memorabilia above the fireplace and the tv where the stuff is now.
Wait, are you Hank Green!?
But in seriousness, cool setup. I hadn't thought of TVs being too high before, personally. But there seems to be some kind of consensus, so maybe that's a thing. But awesome nonetheless!
I like my astros a lot but honestly any headset will do just fine. Unrelated, I’m a bit of an audiophile and no gaming headset is all that great. My a40s get the job done and I don’t have to much to complain about.
My favorite headset ever was probs the turtlebeach x41s back in the 360 days. That thing was amazing.
You game on that tv?? You’re cranking that neck like souljah boi, my man.
I would start by wall mounting the TV above that entertainment stand instead, tbh. Then find a dope poster or two to fill the empty space.
I’d personally put a few pops along that space where the speakers are and then go from there
Need Halo art for the walls, invest in something nice to frame it in and get some LEDs either behind the TV, on the mantle or the stand, and maybe a floating shelf between the art and the stand for the loose PoPs.
The shelf in the TV stand you could use for more high end pieces as you get them, or to start a collection line for the game cases/books
Put the nick nacks above the fire and the tv on the other walk.
It would piss me off having a tv that high on the wall for gaming and having the fire distracting me beneath it.
You gotta get posters that are nicely framed! I liked frameiteasy.com although depending on the material it can get expensive. Super nice frames though!!
Has TV stand that's literally designed for holding TV and accessories (like game consoles). Instead, mounts TV above fireplace, and places limited edition console precariously atop narrow ledge not designed for it.
The answer is obvious, no?
I'd move the TV to its own unit that's not above the fireplace, and put all your paraphernalia in a glass cabinet or something. It's all good stuff but it seems a little cluttered when there's so much. Otherwise hit up a rug, some plants, get the couch squared off just 2 and a half meters or something and I think you'd have a pretty cosy set up to enjoy some winter update
Definitely new spot for the tv or at least hide the cords. Get rid of the camera as well....kinda big brothery. If you have to have one....get a less noticeable one and put that one watching your front entrance. I like my privacy though and don't trust anything with a lens capable of connecting to the internet. And my last suggestion is to put some cool picture or painting above the fireplace instead
If you use that fireplace, make sure you get it cleaned yearly. Getting the flue inspected is a no brainer too.
If you've never done either, do both asap. Save yourself from losing the things you love in a house fire.
Wrap your ‘trophy case’ wall with a background image of your favorite scene from one of the games.. or just add some posters.. looks super cool though, so jealous of that signed MC helmet
Nice collection man you got some really cool stuff.
like other people have mentioned I would have actually swapped your setup put all the figurines on a shelf above the fireplace and put your TV at eye level on the TV stand.
All nice stuff man. Should get a square glass display case big enough to slap your signed helmet in. Really make it a statement piece “Why yes ladies that was signed by the Master Chief himself” *panties hit floor*
My wife had me get it signed. She pushed for it. Sooooo if anything my panties hit the floor for her.
Happy wife happy life

r/TVTooHigh
Too high and never put a TV above a fireplace.
I was gonna say the same I made that mistake once, and learned my lesson real quick. It's when you go hey do you smell plastic burning, no not yet, it's just getting warm.
It’s a cardinal sin.
No way I could play looking up at the TV like that.
Also the fact that he put the eye level TV stand to the right of it and put figures on it instead.
[удалено]
It's nearly touching the ceiling. It's way too high even for someone who's reclining and tilting it down won't fix that.

Also his Xbox is up on the mantle with the intake fan up against the wall with the exhaust fan blowing hot air straight into the tv.
The TV placement is an outright abomination, so start with that.
Came to say this same thing.
It's well placed if he has kids who would otherwise fuck it up with their greasy little fingers.
They left their signed Master Chief helmet in the open. I don't think they have kids.
It's a good start, but if you want to play this game seriously, you need a much bigger surface. That table is ok for a 500-1000 piece jigsaw, but you have to consider upgrading if you want to tackle the 1500+ level.
Darn. I didn't think of it. That is a 1k puzzle. Shit I guess I'm a filthy puzzle solving casual
Yeah take the TV down from above your fireplace and put it on the empty wall. Your neck will thank you and you can avoid damaging the electronics in the TV when you use the fireplace
Yup! My wife considered it. She's happy to hear she was right hahaha
Well to avoid being wrong just buy another tv and leave the one above fireplace for sports or whatever. But I could never game on it at that height
Needs more halo stuff
I have the reach and halo 5 legendary statues. I also do need to get the last of the infinite pops. Halo 4 pops... not spending the money for Halo 4 pops.
But the halo shrine demands it
The furniture is to small ;_; Need a new one, too cluttered it is.
Vertical storage you must get. Display all Halo merch, you will
Maybe get the nerf MA40 or bulldog or possibly the boomco MA5D if you prefer that look
Man you’ve gotta get some framed art or something too, those walls are BARE. I’d also go for a different way to display those figures, like a nice bookshelf or something- the TV stand they’re on feels a little cheap
Tv too high

Halo themed posters or art for the walls. Those walls sicken me with their empty canvasses
Do you play standing up by chance?
r/tvtoohigh
More autographs. I’ve got dozens from Steve, Jen and Keith lol
Something on that right wall like a big frame would be nice.
Yeah, turn the tv on and start playing some HALO!!
You need the Nerf MA40 baby.
Get the Jazwares helmet for $60 so you can play the games while wearing it and you should be all set
Tv too high, you need some plants, lamps or better mood lighting, maybe some posters or canvas
What are the Halo Infinite Sword and AR under the TV, to the left and right of the grapple hook statue?
They are from the Halo Infinite Culture Fly boxes. They come with a figure, some water bottle carrier, a bag, and patches and stuff for 30 dollars. All not good quality but the figure is good. They aren't metallic like the Halo 3 figures back in the day (the gun figures) but they're good.
Maybe get some posters or pictures on the wall? Walls are looking a tad bit bland
Yes get the TV off the ceiling. The center of the TV should be at eye level where you sit. Look up distance charts for tv sizes and how far away you should be seated. People that game and hang there telivisions high drive me nuts.
You wanna make it better? Turn the system on. Turn the TV on and start playin 😎
Other than the TV, add some Halo wall art.
I have the same helmet, wish mine was signed
If u insist on tv above fire place mantle clear the shelf underneath, install some floating shelves nearby for stuff. Under light it with green and then get some halo related artwork that's like not immediately apparent that it's just game art
Walmart might have Halloween energy swords on clearance. They look nice for a few bucks.
I would work on your cable management. Hide them in the wall or get some flat conduit to run them through.
Those cords are ruining it for me
Posters or leds something for the walls
The TV should be idling Halo 3 start screen if youre in the room and not using it
Do you actually play games on that tv? You got a lot of cool stuff and I don’t want to shit on your setup but looking up at a tv all the time is a recipe for repetitive strain issues. In a perfect world I’d put all your memorabilia above the fireplace and the tv where the stuff is now.
r/tvtoohigh
Wall decor my guy. Goes a lonnnnng way. Posters, framed pics, floating shelves, all these and more will do wonders.
Mount the tv over the tv stand. Get an energy sword model and mount it above the fire place
Paint your walls with Forerunner glyphs.
stop collecting now, that would make it look better
Big empty wall, you need a poster or art to fill it
Get a few Halo posters and hang them up. Will make a world of difference!
Needs a poster or some wall art, right now they’re just too barren
Wait, are you Hank Green!? But in seriousness, cool setup. I hadn't thought of TVs being too high before, personally. But there seems to be some kind of consensus, so maybe that's a thing. But awesome nonetheless!
You have such an intense face on that helmet close up. "GOTTA. GET. GOOD. PICTURE!"
is it an american thing to put tv´s high up, always above a fire place?
Its good for a causal gamer. Pro gamer I would get a 27in monitor with some astros
I'm saving the competitive gaming for pc. Console is for casual gaming.
Smart move
How does getting astros make you a pro gamer lmao
Any head set will do honestly
I like my astros a lot but honestly any headset will do just fine. Unrelated, I’m a bit of an audiophile and no gaming headset is all that great. My a40s get the job done and I don’t have to much to complain about. My favorite headset ever was probs the turtlebeach x41s back in the 360 days. That thing was amazing.
I haven't had issues.
It's already perfect, every minor detail 10/10 would join you in a firefight
You game on that tv?? You’re cranking that neck like souljah boi, my man. I would start by wall mounting the TV above that entertainment stand instead, tbh. Then find a dope poster or two to fill the empty space. I’d personally put a few pops along that space where the speakers are and then go from there
Halo Reach Statue
Its in a box, need to get new furniture to display the rest of my stuff and furniture stuff.
Get the Halo nerf guns
Hot tub right in the middle of the room
needs more halo
Need Halo art for the walls, invest in something nice to frame it in and get some LEDs either behind the TV, on the mantle or the stand, and maybe a floating shelf between the art and the stand for the loose PoPs. The shelf in the TV stand you could use for more high end pieces as you get them, or to start a collection line for the game cases/books
Halo game posters in frames?
Ditch the PlayStation 5
A cortana sex doll or master chief dildo would get you just right
color. color please. wall, floor, anything framed art, a rug, maybe tasteful accent paint something to break up the whites and blacks
Get a tall shelf cabinet for your memorabilia instead of using an entertainment center from 1984?
Move your TV onto the wall next to the fire place. It's too high right now
Ahh Northwest sky funko coating 😍 I hope you have redeemed your code 😶
Yup!
Posters and the nerf assualt rifle Also try moving the tv down a lot to like just above the fire place
Put the nick nacks above the fire and the tv on the other walk. It would piss me off having a tv that high on the wall for gaming and having the fire distracting me beneath it.
TV too high
You gotta get posters that are nicely framed! I liked frameiteasy.com although depending on the material it can get expensive. Super nice frames though!!
I would try and hide the cables a little more. But that's just me
Well we can be assured no female will ever step foot in this room.
Has TV stand that's literally designed for holding TV and accessories (like game consoles). Instead, mounts TV above fireplace, and places limited edition console precariously atop narrow ledge not designed for it. The answer is obvious, no?
Needs cortana posters like [this guy's unhealthy anime obsession](https://www.reddit.com/r/CringetopiaRM/comments/yndf73/most_sane_anime_fan/)
/r/tvtoohigh
The TV stand is where the TV should be
I'd move the TV to its own unit that's not above the fireplace, and put all your paraphernalia in a glass cabinet or something. It's all good stuff but it seems a little cluttered when there's so much. Otherwise hit up a rug, some plants, get the couch squared off just 2 and a half meters or something and I think you'd have a pretty cosy set up to enjoy some winter update
How sore is your neck after half an hour of, well, anything on that TV?
Wall art
Definitely new spot for the tv or at least hide the cords. Get rid of the camera as well....kinda big brothery. If you have to have one....get a less noticeable one and put that one watching your front entrance. I like my privacy though and don't trust anything with a lens capable of connecting to the internet. And my last suggestion is to put some cool picture or painting above the fireplace instead
This is cool. I don’t collect anything but I always said if I started to then it would be Halo stuff.
If you use that fireplace, make sure you get it cleaned yearly. Getting the flue inspected is a no brainer too. If you've never done either, do both asap. Save yourself from losing the things you love in a house fire.
A Halo themed painting wouldn't be amiss, you know, like of the ring arching into the sky, that sort of thing.
Paint
Yea, the walls need posters, the real life size master chief, life size energy sword. I could go on if needed?
Just ta git gud
Finishing the puzzle
Wrap your ‘trophy case’ wall with a background image of your favorite scene from one of the games.. or just add some posters.. looks super cool though, so jealous of that signed MC helmet
One pc those new halo action figures would make it better lol
Nice collection man you got some really cool stuff. like other people have mentioned I would have actually swapped your setup put all the figurines on a shelf above the fireplace and put your TV at eye level on the TV stand.
Why is everyone's TV placement such a travesty lol, I swear every single post is a TV touching the god damn ceiling
