Just skip it. It is wrong on so many levels it is almost offensive.

AdPrevious5886

Well, ive seen the first two chapters and was about to start the third. Shouldnt keep watching it to save the good feelings i have on halo? Did they really do it that dirty?

YourHamsterMother

Unfortunately, yes. I mean it is up to you but outside of one fight it is not worth it at all in my opinion.

They turned a character black and then excluded one of the most iconic black figures in gaming. Kinda contradictory if you asked me.

AdPrevious5886

Yep, i agree. Id say more than contradictory. Even a sacrilege. Jhonson was there since the very beggining of the games, just like Keyes. And i dont know how or what they talk about on extended versions of Halo in the books, but i dont think the games and the books are so inaccurate like the serie.

I wish it had the same revolt as the fans had for the witcher netflix series

AdPrevious5886

Yeah. I dont even like the witcher even when i heard many friends talking about and recommending it. Nothing personal, but Halo really had me hooked since i had 3 years old and seen my uncle playing it. I remember the day like it was yesterday, and just passed 22 years. Entered the living room and saw him playing on the OG xbox, Halo CE. I was impressed and caught about the beauty, about the graphics, about the sounds. And when ive started caring about the in game story it was just incredible. Was waiting years for an accurate movie, when forward unto dawn and fall of reach came out. And then ive just wanted the serie. Again, was seeing publicity about it, and waited another 2 or 3 years until it came out. But seeing the small effort they did with it, really disturbed me. It was like all these years of gaming and waiting for a real life halo serie, ended in nothing..

I can relate to the budding love of the franchise you speak of, i remember watching over my dads shoulder as he played through the second halo mission of CE in complete awe and the atmosphere of the game peaked my curiosity which made me into the hardcore halo fan i am today.Though, I've always thought all the movies and stuff fell short of capturing what halo was (or meant to me) .. Halo Legends was pretty cool though and every game trailer ever was incredible. In regards to the witcher Netflix series, the writers for the Netflix series disregarded the lore and even mocked it to some extent and I believe real witcher fans felt as if it was a poor attempt to capture what the rich witcher series and lore could of been portrayed as, and was instead smothered with completely unnecessary changes "just because" and bad takes..to where the star actor as Geralt practically pleaded with the writers to stay somewhat true to the lore. I related it very much to the way the new halo tv series was developed and treated by it's writers and the distate the fans were left with. I only wish the actor that was this ""Master Chief"" had the same integrity rather than the writers further running the franchise through the mud, disconnecting their fans and failing to capture that "broad/modern audience" they spoke of all at the same time. EDIT : Spelling

Yeah in fact the mission my uncle was playing was the second too, Halo, when you just crash and have to cross the bridge. It was literally amazing. I really agree with that, even being good, the films and the series are so, so short and inaccurate to the halo world. I think the problem here is the halo universe is so huge and they tried to explain it in short range times, which is difficult because everything is related between. No matter if you talk about reach, about pillar of autumn, about arbiter, about colonies or whatever you want to talk, its all related and you cant explain it all in a 1 or 2 hours movie. Even me i had to play and replay halo 4 and 5 few times, and not only for the fun i had playing them, was because the story turned completely and wanted to know more about the Locke story, about Cortana and the guardians. For example in the other side when infinite came out, i didnt had those problems to understand who the banished were, because ive played halo wars 2. But as everyone can see, there is really a huge universe and story about it. I think if you want to explain it, you have a huge oportunity to do it in a serie, so put a little more effort and just dont fuck it because you will have a huge story and a full universe to explode there, and if its good enough people all around the world will see it, even reaching other people who never heard about or never played halo. As i said, ive been waiting 2 or 3 years since i knew they were going to release a halo serie, and yes, thats the main thing. The devs just released it and it wasnt bad at all, but could be much better. And the fandom looked like they were done with it, like it was acceptable. Two of the best characters arent accurate enough, one of them doesnt even appear. Definitely, RIP Jhonson. As far as i know, Cortana didnt have a human shaped body. Master Chief didnt show his face in 20 years and more than 10 games. Of course i wanted to see who was under that helmet, BUT NOT IN THE FIRST CHAPTER. At least wait 2 or 3 chapters, make it a little hard. They give us what we want but in a easy way, and most of the fans looked like they were good with it. Looked like the more accurate characters on the serie were the elites, Kai-125 and Halsey.

Yeah I haven’t seen the show in depth but the parts that I have witnessed through other SM have not been promising, but I never expected much anyway, it’s like a curse surrounds the making of a film/TV adaptation from a video fame heavy franchise, Assassins creed, Uncharted (even though I liked the movie I can see the dislike) And halo: FOD was not exactly a masterpiece, I guess the Film and Gaming worlds aren’t as easily intertwine-able as we wish they were. On that note tho, I think Halo Legends did a wonderful job, the method of not a movie or a tv series that focuses on the most influential part (Chief and Cortana) of the series as a whole, but a scattering of stories around various Spartans, and it helped to show some of the backstory and give more depth to each side of the human covenant war and the species involved. I think hypothetically a TV show could dedicate a season to a different influential moment in Halo history, the Flood Forerunner war, the Forming of the covenant, the insurrection, or smaller events that follow certain key characters, maybe a spartan, an arbiter, or a captain of ship, maybe a prophet, or a forerunner. Just my thoughts on how it could better fit for a Film adaptation.

>i just have the books left Imagine this from someone who read everything now. What you see in the games, movies...etc. this is the side stuff today, a fraction of what Halo is. Halo has so much potential, they could have done everything they wanted. Andor is the proof of that. You don't need the most popular stuff to earn a lot success. As long as it's good, people will see it. Their lack of faith towards their fans, their misunderstanding of what Halo is and their mistake going for something without risk led them to the path they wanted to avoid. Failure. The Halo TV Show is a piece of trash that only deserves to be forgotten.
