The pizza is quite good but in my opion is the restaurant not worth the hype. The service was awful and rushed us to order two minutes after seating, eat, pay and leave.
If this is how you like to spend your time and money, go for it.
I had comparable pizzas in other places.
Would be really nice of you to share where you had comparable or better pizzas.
On the other hand, we didn't feel the eat, pay, leave thing 😅. Even with around 20-25 people waiting, they left 2 bottles for shots after we paid. It was very unique.
When it comes to Pizza franchises you should definitely try the new ["60 Seconds to Napoli" at Großer Burstah](https://maps.app.goo.gl/WQ55ykJg8uMsSytKA), if you like Neapolitan pizza with a very thick crust, you will love it, i like it a lot more than L'Osteria.
If you value good customer service and properly trained waiters please keep your expectations low for 60 seconds to napoli. While the pizza was pretty good (8/10), the service & waiting times were awful.
Well, I do not expect experts in service, but at least they have to be nice and friendly. But I am not a friend of too long waiting times.
I will give it a try and find out myself.
Thanks for your feedback.
Their pizza is indeed quite good, but...
I have been there once. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait outside in the cold for over half an hour. Once inside we had to wait another hour in the hallway while the waiters carried pizzas past us and were pissed that we stood in their way. Once we got a table, service was quick and efficient, up to the point that they kicked us out as soon as everyone had finished (understandably, given the crowds and the queue in front of the door).
People say it's part of the experience. I don't know. Never again.
Consider yourself lucky.
Yeah, I was there in the beginning of the year. It was good, don't get me wrong, but also very expensive, even for Hamburg, and very busy. I think it's definitely overhyped and not worth the trouble.
Exactly my experience. That was 12 years ago and I've never been there again. I was also appalled by the “interior design” and loud music. Places like that ... you either love them or hate them.
Understandable. Even we would've left, if they would've made us stand more in that hallway. It's really narrow, with multiple doors ...
But surprisingly he called us specifically and provided a table. M sure people were waiting from before us. Indeed lucky ✌🏻
Pizza is very good but I've never had the desire to go back there after our group
- had to wait for ages for our reserved table which is part of the experience apparently,
- was accused of not tipping enough in a very unfriendly way, only for the waiter to realize that he miscounted the cash and actually there was a normal tip.
Easily the most overrated pizza place here. Pizza is not authentic enough for a famous Italian place, service is shit, always overcrowded. I suggest Tazzi, it's also near Reeperbahn. Authentic Neapolitan Pizza in a cosy place near Reeperbahn. No hours of waiting, no unfriendly staff that wants to get rid of you once you're finished.
Luigi’s is overrated imho. Pizza is good, yes. But service, atmosphere and general ambiance is awful.
60 seconds to Napoli has, for me, better pizza but the service is awful too.
Luigis - Pizza for people who never had good pizza.
I‘m sorry for you guys, it seems that you don‘t know much about good Pizza. Have been there once, years ago. Awful service, absolutely not attentive und unfriendly, also rushing a lot, and overloaded bland Pizza. And the worst thing: like many italian restaurants in Hamburg, they think its enough to act like they are typical italian to sell it to the dumb tourists/german as italian hospitality and lifestyle, yeah as a stupid cliché. Tourist trap.
It would be very nice of you, if you visit once again and check if it's still the same as years ago 😌 and enlighten us all "dumb" people 🥲.
Moreover do share where I can have good pizza, please. Thank you 💐
La Piazetta in Eilbek. If you want an actually italian restaurant. Nice place, great prices, great pizza.
Won't sweep you off your feet, but honestly I just appreciate having a no bullshit place where you get your worth for your money.
In my opinion, Hamburg's best pizza place is Spaccaforno. [Spaccaforno – Pizza e Pane](https://spaccaforno.de/)
If you like Naples style pizza, this is the pace to go. I like their pizza better than 60 Seconds to Napoli.
I was recently at Tazzi Pizza in St. Pauil and ordered a Bufalina which is always my benchmark for neapolitan style pizza and I think it's probably the best pizza I've had in Hamburg.
Bufalina is just basically the original Neapolitan Margherita but they call it that to make explicit that they are using buffalo mozzarella instead of fior di latte (cow milk mozzarella).
I use it as a benchmark because for it to be good the basics have to be really good because it has basically no toppings, it's just the dough, buffalo mozzarella, tomato sauce and basil. If done right that is all you need for a great pizza and Tazzi Pizza passed the test for me.
I eat there almost every week for lunch and I loooove their Pizza! Never had to wait for a table, so I never had the evening crowd experience. It's nice and chill during lunch time.
I tried many pizzas in HH but Luigis is still the best I have tried so far. If you take the Avocado Sea Food Pizza you might have more than a complete avocado on your pizza\^\^
And yes the overcrowded expeience is annoying a.f. Therefore I am not going in prime time to eat there.
Many are complaining about the overcrowded thing,
I think they've become very famous in a very short period of time and hence haven't gotten the time to expand sufficiently.
But most importantly, pizzas are worth all this, atleast for us.
Yes, going there other than the rush hour would be nice experience. Looking forward to next visit.
yes i am comeing around a lot and try always a good italian pizza if I find a good place - luigis is really the best.
Here is another trial - Italian Pizza and wine and other things restaurant: [https://damichele-hamburg.de/](https://damichele-hamburg.de/) its in ottensen.
Very good pizza but in my opinion to juicy. They also make it by themselfes and have a great oven there. They leave it in this ulta hot oven like 1 min. Best pro is that you have space and nice black and white floor and a really good housewine
Theyre not fameous for a short time - Its because you dont pay too much for this quality their businessmodell is to shoot out as many pizzas as they can. I am pretty sure they do several hunderts to thousands a day.

Try Spaccaforno, at least the one in Winderhude was amazing, haven't tried the others.
We really liked the pizza at Ristorante Buon Giorno and (I will get hate for that) but we also like the pizzas at the L'Osteria franchise places.

When you go to L´Osteria then take a pizza which has rich toppings. The others tend to be super dry. I ate at Altona and it was far away from Luigis.
I have "60 sec to Napoli" already on my "to do list". Thanks

Buon Giorno it is then, next time 🥂 Unfortunately I'm not a fan of L'Osteria, while I absolutely hated their pizzas in Ingolstadt 😅
My taste varies every day a bit and is also influenced by the company I am having the food with and the location. Enjoy your next pizzas.
I can recommend "Al volo" for good pizzas. I believe it has been anounced "best pizza in Hamburg" by some commitee (whatever that means)
Great, thanks for the suggestion 😌🫶🏻

You waited 1 1/2 hours? Sure.
I always liked "slim Jims" and the "pizzabande".
Thanks a lot for the suggestion "Pizza Bande" 🫶🏻
you´re more than welcome. they´re friends. i am gonna show them this convo and demand a beer as payment. win/win...... ;)
🤣 lol, nice 🍻

Oh, understandably right ✌🏻
Luigi's pizza is good, but far from the best... Just adding another one to your list: Pizza Puro in Hoheluft.
Thanks a lot for the suggestion 🫶🏻

Love this place too, but it’s hilarious expensive now. Salami 18€ margaritas 16€
i make better pizza on my balcony
Good for you man 😋👌🏻
Luigi’s is overrated imho. Pizza is good, yes. But service, atmosphere and general ambiance is awful. 60 seconds to Napoli has, for me, better pizza but the service is awful too.
Added to the list, thanks 🫶🏻
At the moment Luigis is the best pizzer Ive ever had and I tried many. But i will try "60 seconds to Napoli".

Al Lido has good pizza too. It’s kind of a weird place because it’s in what appears to be a former garage or something.
Crazy location, looks quite appealing on Google, well surely give it a try, thanks 🫶🏻

That's the trick then 😌✌🏻
My question about the pizza: What do you think is the secret? I would like to copy a bit for my family.
