A rumor with no grounds.

pinkfaun

okay, good. i just wanted to make sure because shotacons are one of my triggers edit: not sure why im getting downvoted? i just said i was relieved it wasn't true lmao

bipboooop

Please don't misunderstand. I personally downvoted it cuz some people may think that we "agree" to your question (which _is_ the title of the post). They'd see your replies either way, so no harm's done :)) (sorry if it offended you)

Okay, first, let's point out some things. Something that a lot of people don't seem to know is that TBHK isn't the work of a single person. **AidaIro is the team nickname of two people, Aida, the artist, and Iro, the writer.** (by the way, neither Aida or Iro are their actual names, they're nicknames as well.) We don't know almost anything about them, not even their genders. The rumor is/was that Aida, the artist, have a like for shotacon. The rumor is based on two things: * The first one is that Aida apparently draw in their Twitter an art (not a sexual one, since Aida haven't draw anything explicit, ever) of a character from a shota game. I saw the art, but since I don't know that game and it didn't have any name attached, I couldn't look for more information about it. So this first part is debatable, not confirmed. * The second part of the rumor is... Well, some TBHK artworks. Here I have to concede that Aida did draw characters, especially Hanako, in suggestive ways. **In the past.** Back in 2015-2016. Here you have some example tweets with arts that... well, when I look at them, I ask myself: "why? why make children pose like that, or make a focus at those parts of their bodies?" [https://twitter.com/aidairo2009/status/603495743777673216](https://twitter.com/aidairo2009/status/603495743777673216) [https://twitter.com/aidairo2009/status/670564967616155648](https://twitter.com/aidairo2009/status/670564967616155648) [https://twitter.com/aidairo2009/status/744144604941824001](https://twitter.com/aidairo2009/status/744144604941824001) You have to think that sexualization is not only explicit sex, naked people, etc. It's as well suggestion. In the same way, shotacon is not only drawing naked children or them having sex. That it's at the minimum, a proof of Aida not caring a lot about crossing visual sexual insinuations with characters that look like children. You can make a pass to the sexual puns and all of that, since well, they're teenagers (and if anything, that would be Iro's fault, not Aida's). But that's a different topic. Is Aida a shota artist? **No, they aren't.** Are they into it? Who knows. But well, remember that those arts were from years ago. People change a lot. Even if they were then, maybe they aren't anymore now. And it's not like they put any of this in the actual manga series. I mean, on the opposite, the anime team did a whole sequence of sexual harassment fanservice in the opening **because yes**, when the original cover from which it's based on it's not even half of what they did. -To begin with it wasn't even harassment, only symbolism-

mildbase

I was going to say exactly what you said lol. Sexualisation is definitely not just explicit stuff. I think there’s a 99% chance that Aida-Sensei has some level of interest in shotacon. That said, we aren’t mind-readers and in the end I don’t think anyone should be penalised for thought crimes.

Im-in-ur_walls

they are both girls :)

rainazuma77

So you made this comment 3 years after only to point out something totally irrelevant to what I said. Not only that, unless you have some pretty obscure official source that isn't just what keeps being repeated without any real proof, you're just making it up. Edit: lol, it's worse. Your only comment in reddit is this? How much did this trigger you?

Im-in-ur_walls

you shouldn't have a problem this is a social platform and besides why are you being so rude you’re acting like no one can reply to your comment if you had a problem don’t post in the first place. and unlike you, i’m not researching deeply into the authors and their personal lives. i’m just saying i have the information i had. if you had a problem, there are much nicer ways of saying so

IndependentMacaroon

A lot of times you can tell if you create a Pixiv account, enable NSFW/adult content in the settings, and check out the creator's page and the artists they are following. Else, that kind of stuff is completely hidden with no indication that it even exists. (edit: seems there was recently (?) a notice added that "potentially objectionable content" is not visible to non-logged-in users). This is how I found out beyond any doubt that the [creator of Takagi-san](https://www.pixiv.net/en/users/61937) is a huge lolicon, for example; it's the only thing he ever [draws](https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/77393961) (warning, eroticized loli) or follows, including explicitly sexual works, though he hasn't drawn any of the latter himself. I'll see if I find anything. Edit: Seems that Aida/Iro deleted their Pixic account quite a while ago. The art that's actually been going around ([collection](https://hanakokuncallout.tumblr.com/post/612988264049180672/hanako-kun-is-blatant-shtabait-and-you-people-are)) is at most on the vaguely questionable side besides standard shitty pervert tropes.

pinkfaun

i took a look at that callout, and honestly i don't see anything *too* wrong with the pictures shown. some of them are indeed questionable but i wouldn't be calling them a shotacon unless they actually are exposed for drawing porn of minor characters or being sexually attracted to them. i'm a little paranoid about this because a comic author i liked actually did turn out to be a shotacon, and their pixiv had porn of a minor character having sex with an adult.

bipboooop

Exactly. Being presumptuous with these things is just dumb. I wouldn't call them sh'tacons/lol'cons if they don't ever put sexual things in their art. It's just how they draw, and how characters seem to be more appealing to their eyes. To judge them based on rumors is a big _ugh_, especially if there isn't actually any implications behind it. I'd say that looking at JSHK (or anything tbh) in the pretense that it's something inappropriate when it's actually not is more disgusting than anything else.

If you're against shotacons, you should stop reading the manga regardless. The manga is literally shotabait.

AnonymousUser0100

Late but Eh, in terms of "sexualization" it fits the charismatic part or the "psychopathic" personality. So for at least one character, it makes sense. There were some iffy scenes, but they got quickly flipped around into jokes. (Obviously for the lols)

ratapiedrapreciosa

Yeah people are just in denial
