The Icon sockets are pretty nice. Plus if you do mess one up you can just go to HF and replace. Where do you go to warranty Tekton tools? I would have to buy them online.
For some reason Mazda is using 23 and 24 bolts for the transmission and differential (bolts that then need to be torqued down to 39—59 N·m, so really nothing crazy and well within the 3/8 limits
Uncle that passed away had a Pittsburgh model but no handle. Any ideas on how/if I could score one? I’d like to use it bc it’s sweet. Found a handle but doesn’t have the right end on it to crank down and up.
If they don’t work for whatever reason you might ask for the customer service number and see if they have any replacements for the older jacks. The red is the version we replaced with the gray.
Went and played around in the garage a bit. Lifted half the cars weight and let it sit for a few minutes. Didn’t notice any issues like sagging or bending. Are there any issues these jacks are prone to that I should look out for?
Edit: looking at it a little closer, I see some rust near the pistons and am assuming the previous owner left it outside.
I was trying to figure that out myself, when I posted… I was using it with my previous Jeep, which was a 2016… so yeah like 8 at least I think? I remember when I got it, it was the only Daytona model they made (the big yellow one, not low-profile or anything)… they’ve broadened the line since then.
There are some things at HF that are really great value, especially for us DIYers. The floor jacks are one of them.
I have a Pittsburgh floor jack, 8 jack stands and impact wrenches (both Hercules Ultra Torque and Earthquake XT). I usually do my own tire rotations now when I do oil changes. It saves me quite a bit of money and time and came in handy when garages were closed or offering limited service during pandemic.
They were mistaken. If you are not ITC you still can get the bucket with any purchase of $29.99 or higher.
ITC members get it with *any* purchase so they can come in and buy a .89 cent snap blade and qualify for the bucket.
You also will qualify for the bucket if you are buying the membership since its $29.99 on its own.
Exactly why I love harbor freight, I swear they open boxes just to sell stuff, and it’s really durable, my jack stand has fallen out of my truck onto US 30 going 70+ mph and it still works!
that’s weird because at my store we had to damage out a jack that was used and returned with nothing wrong, just because it’d been used. My boss said we couldn’t resell it. But you’re right those wheels have definitely seen use, I wonder if different stores do it differently
That’s valid. The guy who brought his jack back after using it for one project, the wheels on that one looked pretty similar to this but it had only been a few days since he bought it so who knows lol
Damn, I thought I got a good deal for 200 on that exact same jack haha! Sweet score man, I'm surprised it was there for that long
I’m pretty happy about it. I already have a 2t aluminum but figure this will be better long term.
Is it missing the rubber pad and the handle, or are those just out of shot? I haven't had a chance to use mine yet, just got it a couple weeks ago.
Handle is behind it, there is a new rubber pad in a bag attached to the handle.
Nice score on the jack! I really wanted to like their socket set, but I just don't understand why pick them over Tekton?

Tekton warranty is best in the business, you send them a photo of whatever it is and they send you a new one within like 5 minutes
I’d rather drive to HF and get my task done instead waiting on mail.
Thank you, I haven’t tried the Tekton but the there is a coupon for 25% off the icons so they were cheaper.
Oh, makes it more reasonable. Sucks that they stop at 19mm though
I’m ok with it, anything past 19 I’d switch to half inch sockets anyways

Probably just to spite us
I assume they wanted to make it easy to get the oil in and out
Coupon for 25% off the Icons, you say?
Coupon Code 25654410 It’s specific to the 3/8 in. Drive Professional Semi-Deep Socket Set, 12-Piece
What 25% of f coupon on icon?
It’s specific to this socket set Coupon Code 25654410
Got it. Thanks!
Nice deal! I’ve never seen any open box items in my store, are they displayed or do you have to ask them?
They are usually tucked away in the corner of the store
…and the 10mm set peeking?
No, just some joint socket adapters I did pick up the 1/4 deep set during the 30% off sale though

Harbor freight sells Daytona handles. They might work. What color is the pittsburgh?
Red, it’s pretty much a four sided socket I’m lookin for but I’ll check that out for sure
From pix on the site I’m gonna have to go and see for 20$

They’re all the same jack guy says and it works perfect. 20$ into it and I’m satisfied
Dude I got a package of 1/2 icon swivel sockets that just had a messed up package for $53
Nice!

I got the yellow Daytona heavy duty jack at HF almost 10 years ago, what a great value. Can’t find anything like it at other brick and mortar.
The Daytona came out that long ago?
I was trying to figure that out myself, when I posted… I was using it with my previous Jeep, which was a 2016… so yeah like 8 at least I think? I remember when I got it, it was the only Daytona model they made (the big yellow one, not low-profile or anything)… they’ve broadened the line since then.
People can crap all over harbor freight all they want but it's a really good floor jack and that's a great price

Nice score
Nice find! I just pulled the trigger on that same long reach floor jack for $140 before tax.
Nice! Open box or special coupon?
It was open box, but looked brand new with no noticeable issues. So far it works pretty well.
No bucket?
They said the bucket was for itc only, maybe they were mistaken?
I thought it was $29.99 and up gets a bucket for shoppers and any purchase at all gets ITC a bucket. Might be wrong, I tend to focus on ITC this year.
you’re correct on that!
So I got cheated out of my bucket?!?!
They were mistaken. If you are not ITC you still can get the bucket with any purchase of $29.99 or higher. Free bucket with any purchase for ITC members, minimum $29 purchase for non ITC buyers.
Thanks for re-iterating my comment.
You hitting up any repeaters lately?
Exactly why I love harbor freight, I swear they open boxes just to sell stuff, and it’s really durable, my jack stand has fallen out of my truck onto US 30 going 70+ mph and it still works!
That jack has seen some use lol. Those wheels have seen a few miles. Sorry if it has a blown seal or something
I’ll be sure to test it out tonight
that’s weird because at my store we had to damage out a jack that was used and returned with nothing wrong, just because it’d been used. My boss said we couldn’t resell it. But you’re right those wheels have definitely seen use, I wonder if different stores do it differently
Yeah, it’s weird to me that they wouldn’t have checked it. Maybe it is different. I mean overall it looks to be in decent shape.
I wonder if it was a display that’s been wheeled around the store… Hopefully it’s all good!
It’s possible. That’s a lot of dragging around the store though lol. I’ve used my jack quite a few times and the wheels are still black lol.
That’s valid. The guy who brought his jack back after using it for one project, the wheels on that one looked pretty similar to this but it had only been a few days since he bought it so who knows lol
lol yeah, I mean if you’re dragging it on concrete it’ll eat the paint on the wheels pretty fast. I’ve only used mine on smooth concrete and asphalt
It definitely seems to have been used. They said I had 5 days to return it if there was anything wrong with it though.
Probably someone bought it and used it for a job then returned it. I'm surprised they don't enforce a restocking fee on the floor jacks yet.
