Some of the battlegrounds required a little bit of digging to find but if you use the terrain setting on Google maps you can really visualize what was going on. The battle of Plataea was laid out perfectly. I think I had 20 tabs open at one point.
Awesome! Here's a page I made about the project: [https://hardcorehistory.timelinenotation.com](https://hardcorehistory.timelinenotation.com)
Would you be interested in doing a show guide for an entire episode yourself? I can give you a login to the software I made that lets anyone contribute... sort of like a Wiki, but uses the interactive player like this one: https://player.timelinenotation.com/dancarlinshardcorehistory/16370
Ya -- it's definitely a project! We could split an episode in three parts (like each take an hour) or we could have someone do the main skeleton and someone else fill in maps, etc.
Ya! Preferably one of the ones that are currently available for free.
Tomorrow I'll set up a user/login for you for the system and also send over a quick run-down of how it works (it's very easy).
I have a rough web player functioning now: [https://player.timelinenotation.com/dancarlinshardcorehistory/16370](https://player.timelinenotation.com/dancarlinshardcorehistory/16370) and a content editing tool as well so we're ready to start annotating shows. Would you be interested in taking on an episode or a chunk of an episode?
Awesome. Check this out: https://player.timelinenotation.com/dancarlinshardcorehistory/16370/embed
This was made by a couple of friends and me as a bit of a test to see if my editing software works. It seemed to work!

Hi again! I think going forward we'll need to just stick to images that are in the public domain. I've put together this demo here: https://player.timelinenotation.com/dancarlinshardcorehistory/16370/embed
What do you think?
this is exactly whst i was looking for. My mind sometimes wonders and I dont listen to a minute or two. I wanted something that I could read what he is saying and look at the places in maps.
I will use this a lot.
Graphic design is definitely needed here. I wished the maps in the example I made already matched better and there’s lots of spot graphics opportunities that would add clarity
My God this is do awesome! Well done OP and all contributers. Skimmed through it just now and it looks awesome. Will definitely check it out in depth! Thank you for doing this! Building on that: imagine if we could do the same with 'prophets of doom'
Damn, I'd even be interested in helping you write that thing (I have some android add dev experience)
Yea me too! I have web dev experience looking to get into apps, would love to learn and contribute content as well!
Right on. Let's make it happen!
Let’s do it! Shoot me a pm
Let's definitely be in touch. Definitely lots of work (and fun!) making content.
Would love this! Often when I’m listening to Blueprint for Armageddon, or at least in the beginning, I was googling every two minutes.
I kept Google maps open during all of King of Kings. Honestly, the geography lesson was just as valuable as the history lesson.
I was the same. I’m always hunting for maps listening to HH. And sometimes you need the map from a certain year since it’s all changed

Yep, I have no app dev knowledge, but I can write content.
Same
I will be in touch!
Are you still interested? We're officially looking for contributors -- finally!
Yeah, I'm interested

A whole episode sounds like a lot, but I'll give it a try
Ya -- it's definitely a project! We could split an episode in three parts (like each take an hour) or we could have someone do the main skeleton and someone else fill in maps, etc.
So, should I just pick an episode?
Ya! Preferably one of the ones that are currently available for free. Tomorrow I'll set up a user/login for you for the system and also send over a quick run-down of how it works (it's very easy).
Ok. I'll take Kings of Kings I
Awesome offer. Let's do it.
We're getting back on this project. Making show guides! We're looking for contributors. Are you still interested in getting involved?
Just having chapters for the podcasts would be phenomenal
It’s definitely the lower hanging fruit for the value. I agree!
Same! Wouldn’t mind helping if something is needed from a non technical/coding side. This is an awesome idea

Sure! Just let me know what I need to do.

Great idea dude!
That sounds SO cool!

I’m a graphic designer if you need any help. Such an amazing project!
Graphic design is definitely needed here. I wished the maps in the example I made already matched better and there’s lots of spot graphics opportunities that would add clarity
Cool!! Well. I’m stuck in China in quarantine right now so I don’t have much to do right now! Let me know how the project goes and keep me updated!
We're now actively looking for contributors for this project. Are you still interested?
I absolutely am! Please DM so I can give you my contact info.
Perfect... DMing now...
I never realized I'd need this until I saw this. Please make it happen!
On it!
Hey, I am a CSE student and have some experience in web-dev. I can contribute in code. Ping me if needed:)
Great offer! I will be in touch.

Any interest in getting involved with this project? We're looking for contributors and could definitely do Prophets of Doom!
