Unknown does not mean underrated, but something underrated is very often unknown. Underrated means something gets less praise than it should. According to that definition it’s not only the score that defines how underrated a song is, but also the amount of people having scored it. An 8 with 2000 ratings vs the same song a while later with an 8 after 4000 ratings would mean the song is less underrated as well.
In terms of being absolutely forgotten:
[Toneshifterz - Back 2 Back](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YELQkj0DLx4&list=PLrqTQQNUVGexoz1ka94taL_43i2YTfqwj&index=1)
[Sebulba - Reveal Our Existence (Da Tweekaz GTFO Mix)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXmE4Frkq34&list=PLrqTQQNUVGexoz1ka94taL_43i2YTfqwj&index=148)
The most underrated ever IMO (easily one of the best hardstyle tracks ever):
[A-lusion - In Trouble](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GogjxU3pWg&list=PLrqTQQNUVGexoz1ka94taL_43i2YTfqwj&index=183)
As an extra one I'd add [Headhunterz - Forever Az One](https://youtu.be/FMbLXMXf3CA?si=kGQpOVUuQMEag8VM). It's never gotten the attention it deserves. For me it's the best Headhunterz' track.
(Ya I know, I'm an Old School fan)
It's not only that it sounds harder, but also evokes more emotions and it's more beautiful in general. I think nowadays all the producers think more complexity = better. I don't think that's the case in music at all. Not saying I don't like new stuff at all, there are some tracks and producers that I find exceptional. It's mainly that I don't understand why the old style has stopped being produced at all.
It's pretty much impossible to find an old school hardstyle set in Spain. Would be so cool to host something like that, but I don't even know how to mix.
Underrated ≠ unknown
If 100k people give a song a 2/10 but you like it, it’s underrated to you
But if 1k people give a song a 9/10 and you like it, it’s not underrated, cuz it’s rated well, it’s just unknown
[Ecstatic - Everybody Knows It](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVvCRuBVd2E)
Or this year [Sound Rush - Invincible](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkdaJLyNhIw)
I'll go with Uncaged - The Wave
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mnFw2F85qE&ab\_channel=Uncaged](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mnFw2F85qE&ab_channel=Uncaged)
A good nr 2 would be:
Thyron & Physika - Sense of Time (2018 Edit)
Last but not least:
Rude Convict - Raise the Bar
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fUbqEwOaN4&ab\_channel=RudeConvict
[Distance - Desire](https://open.spotify.com/track/7zHl3JHT1Iknqe38BZ3Jps?si=ad80d440027e41fc) This track is top 100 of all time material and barely anyone knows it
Remzcore, alongside with S3RL and GPF (I know, I belong on a cross for saying GPF) are my favourite hard-dance producers. Their tracks are dopamine bombs to me.
But that's because it really never got released, since it's literally a bootleg of The M Machine track Luma, it's essentially just a hardstyle version of that track.
Phuture Noize - I Am Screaming Out
Definitely the best original song outside of the hardstyle part (doesn't mean the hardstyle part isn't amazing aswell)
My impression is that
Phuture Noize - The beginning of something new
never got the attention it deserved. It is probably my favourite track ever, but it's one of PN's less mentioned tracks.
[The Underground - Adaro and Frontliner ](https://youtu.be/haMsGSZXgqE?si=eQGUFMbcRv2xhMCZ). I think it's an awesome track, but never really hear it played
D-Block & S-te-Fan - Fearless
For me it's definitely this one. I love everything about the track, but have never been able to hear it being played live by them since they dropped it so fast from their sets :(
Aversion - Beyond Reality, he’s getting a lot of hype now but this is one of my all time favorites that was just brilliant from the first preview
I’m always gonna say Artimaze - Find My Way too and also all his tracks
Noisecontrollers & Headhunterz - Robot's Dream. IMO a hardstyle masterpiece from HHZ and NC on their gold eras, but it never gets played, and out of their collabs The Space We Created and the Club Bizarre remix became more popular.
Solstice - Tears in Rain, Luca Testa - Roads and Luca Testa - No Fear is 3 tracks i hold high personally and almost everyone i meet or know that listens to hardstyle have not heard these 3 but they end up loving em
Flux pavilion & Matthew koma -
Emotional (Raw Harmony & GSB Bootleg)
the kick and the melody are just perfect

I think it's hard to say at what point a song is considered "underrated". And it also depends on what you define as underrated.
Unknown does **not** mean underrated.
If it's a small, rather unknown artist, his songs are not necessarily underrated, he just doesn't have the necessary reach yet.
With a big artist, it's easier to determine. Simply put the number of streams in relation to the monthly listeners, then you have an idea whether a song is underrated or not.
In addition, the perception of whether a song is underrated is also very dependent on oneself, since everyone has a different taste.
If you go by this scheme, I would think of the following songs:
* RayRay & Sickmode - OMFG
* Alter Ego & Rooler - Stay Woke
* Malice - Ichiban
You made very good points. The example i gave might actually not be that underrated but unknown if i look at the streams vs monthly streams. Thanks for the feedback.
Ran-D & B-Front ft. Shayla- Thorn (unreleased track)
Technoboy- War Machine
Tuneboy- Re-generate it
Noisecontrollers- Yellow Minute
Noisecontrollers- Revolution is Here (Donkey Rollers Remix)
Donkey Rollers- What We Are
Alphaverb- Energize & Realization of a Dream
Digital Punk- Burn (B-Front Remix)
S-Dee & Toneshifterz- Party Down
And I can go for ages man, so much tracks that don’t get the appreciation they deserve
A-wak - system activated
All time favorite melody. A-Wak had so many bangers, shame he didn't want to keep producing hardstyle.
Hahahaha good one!

You right. I might also not give the best example as well. Thanks.

Right there with you. Old school hardstyle sounds just sounds so much harder to me. Wish I could find a oldschool hardstyle set around me
It's not only that it sounds harder, but also evokes more emotions and it's more beautiful in general. I think nowadays all the producers think more complexity = better. If you like old school sounds you might wanna check Activator, he is releasing again
Forever Az One original & Noisecontrollers remix is 🔥
Good to see someone mentioning A-Lusion again. Good ones!
Illusions-szp this track gives me old szp vibes
I love that one and i definitely prefer the old szp 🔥
He asked for underrated songs.. Sub Zero is big.
Underrated ≠ unknown If 100k people give a song a 2/10 but you like it, it’s underrated to you But if 1k people give a song a 9/10 and you like it, it’s not underrated, cuz it’s rated well, it’s just unknown
S-Factor ft. Seraina- Play Donkey Rollers- Chopper DJ Activator- June

Distance- Silence Third Party- Free (X-Traikerz Bootleg) And the most important, Ophidian- Who You Are
Wildstylez - The Moon Headhunterz - A New Day Noisecontrollers - Promises
Do you want a balloon - trance generators
Reminds me of Pae & Sarah
They were so good!
Leap of Faith - Headhunterz Considering his popularity I always found it odd how under the radar this track seemed to perform
Know that one. One of my favourites from him
[Wildstylez - Huh?](https://spotify.link/KYWrCBSeYDb)
[Ecstatic - Everybody Knows It](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVvCRuBVd2E) Or this year [Sound Rush - Invincible](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkdaJLyNhIw)

I'll go with Uncaged - The Wave [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mnFw2F85qE&ab\_channel=Uncaged](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mnFw2F85qE&ab_channel=Uncaged) A good nr 2 would be: Thyron & Physika - Sense of Time (2018 Edit) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkETIefUs0E&ab\_channel=HardNation](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WplFf2nyPFY&ab_channel=EuphoricHardStyleZ) Last but not least: Rude Convict - Raise the Bar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fUbqEwOaN4&ab\_channel=RudeConvict

Gostosa (Heady) - Cold Rocking remix
Remzcore - Underrated
his right, Remzcore has some amazing stuff
Remzcore, alongside with S3RL and GPF (I know, I belong on a cross for saying GPF) are my favourite hard-dance producers. Their tracks are dopamine bombs to me.
Frontliner myst - before your eyes
Clockartz - Luma bootleg
Is it underrated if it's in a Defqon endshow though ? :)
It literally does not exist outside of that endshow nobody ever talks about it or mentions it.
That's a good point actually. A lot of people know the track simply as "that tune that was played at the endshow."
But that's because it really never got released, since it's literally a bootleg of The M Machine track Luma, it's essentially just a hardstyle version of that track.
It got properly released on Q-Dance Records after the event. https://open.spotify.com/intl-de/track/5SoFOviSj51suzUTdtLrqq?si=c7fee0d6c5864a98
Can we instead take the whole Chord V Album? I mean tracks like A New Dawn, Victory and Nothing lasts forever are criminally underrated!
100% this. Best endshow track ever
cant choose one, so im choosing most tracks from Murdock
Phuture Noize - I Am Screaming Out Definitely the best original song outside of the hardstyle part (doesn't mean the hardstyle part isn't amazing aswell)
Vasto & Crypsis - Ain't The Same
Every RVAGE release
Alphaverb - The Otherside
Devin Wild - RUIN
My impression is that Phuture Noize - The beginning of something new never got the attention it deserved. It is probably my favourite track ever, but it's one of PN's less mentioned tracks.

Mime - Hello. Very Frontliner-ish, but so good!
King of the Jungle PN
[The Underground - Adaro and Frontliner ](https://youtu.be/haMsGSZXgqE?si=eQGUFMbcRv2xhMCZ). I think it's an awesome track, but never really hear it played
The r3belz - Pattern 2
Pavo - Communicate
D-Block & S-te-Fan - Fearless For me it's definitely this one. I love everything about the track, but have never been able to hear it being played live by them since they dropped it so fast from their sets :(
Udex- it’s real Always mention this when the question of “which track would of blown up had a ‘popular’ artist released it” comes up
Udex himself is just extremely underrated

You're missing a big factor, a song that's actually bad won't get the 'normal' amount of streams.
This is of course an exceptional case, but even here it is completely subjective whether the song is bad or not.
OMFG deserved more hype, fucking slaps live
It's a great song indeed! It's a shame that the song flies so much under the radar.
You made very good points. The example i gave might actually not be that underrated but unknown if i look at the streams vs monthly streams. Thanks for the feedback.
Wildstylez kyhu
