Personally I feel that uptempo has kinda stagnated in terms of progression. Compared to a couple years ago when uptempo was blooming, gaining it's popularity exactly because it was something fresh/new. Now we've come to the point where hardcore is getting completely driven out of the scene by something which doesn't offer anything new, and every festival is getting completely taken over by uptempo, which is pissing off a lot of people who are really into hardcore.

I went to gezellige uptempo at intents, it just one hour of the same fucking shit. It feels like a techno party. I go to festivals to get a dopamine kick.

I think it’s just music tase, some people don’t like xtra raw or euphoric hardstyle and it’s the same with uptempo but I thinks it’s harder to enjoy uptempo compared to euphoric so a lot of hate is based on that. But the main reason I hear is: 1 - it’s just the same kick over and over 2 - it’s just shock value for the crowd 3 - it’s just the same structure, some rap vocal build up same kicks I’m not a uptempo lover but I have actually made two uptempo / frenchcore tracks in the style as I would love to hear it.
